Watching this video and reliving all this drama took like 20yrs off my life. I could feel my soul start cracking not even 5 minutes in, every single thing he has done is so cringe inducing and horrible. Its so much worse knowing I used to genuinely watch and like the guy when I was a kid. Having it all compressed like this is a great vid for stanz, but man is it emotionally draining to be consistently horrified and disappointed over and over again like this. sorry for the brief rant

I've never been personally affected by this kind of abuse fortunately, not do I have children, but I do have little cousins. The things this monster has done to children my little cousins' age fills me with rage in a way that is not healthy for me.

My sisters love Shane Dawson (dw they're both 30+), but without really knowing anything about him, I've only ever really heard online that Shane Dawson "isn't a good guy", but assumed that since he was still making content it was all down to your typical youtube drama, backstabbing, etc.

Jon Cozart’s hosting of The Streamys was really good. He was the most honest host and didn’t hold back when he was talking about any of the creators at the time. It’s a little bit wild that there are still people in this and any other comments sections that will always find a way to defend Shane and all of the other weird RUclipsrs who faced little to no consequences for any of their actions. Sadly, as an adult in my 30’s I’m never surprised when we hear grimy stuff about 2000’s RUclipsrs. No one is off the table for being an awful human.

I knew of Shane Dawson and knew the surface level of the stuff he did, and had seen recently with his adoption that people were outraged that a pedo was able to adopt a child, but never knew just how unhinged this all actually was. Kissing MULTIPLE 12 year olds and dreaming about ripping someones tongue off and putting your hand down their throat is like serial killer level weird. This video finally showed me some Shane Dawson context I very much needed on the situation. I was a fan in the early days and then the later days with Jeffrey Starr. Some of these clips have reinforced what I have heard about him but also it’s reminded me how important context is. Many people are freaking out in chat during the part where Shane had the singer Sophia in his videos. Some comments questioning why here parents would let her do that or if she even has them. If you watch the video, her whole immediately family are there. Her dad is in the video more than once and the finale is her singing Shane’s mom’s favorite song. I’m not defending Shane but even in this video Stanz made talking about so many “truths”, it can still be biased and misleading.

I am not going to lie I sometimes like to watch stand while I eat, and that is usually not a problem. However, in this video some of the stuff Shane did and said was so disgusting, specifically the part with kids, that it made me so sick I couldn't finish my food and had to turn the video off to finish eating before coming back.

Secondly, I'm glad that I never watched SD or any major person back in the day. I'm actually sickened by all of the clips put together that someone like that was able to be such a big part of YT history. Like we know with all of the deep dives we've seen, the people just have really shitty apologies.
