OMG!!! One of my absolute FAVORITES of all time, not only from Rock A Little, but in general! This song still brings me to tears! I finally get to hear/see it live!!! I’ve sung this at different occasions in my life, like at my wedding 🎩, etc. thank you so much for posting this!!! And thank you, Stevie for giving us such a wonderfully beautiful gift 🎁 playing this best song live!! Please please keep doing this, it’s such a beautiful gorgeous song! ❤❤❤❤❤
I remember when I first heard this. I was in tears. I knew something wasn’t right with Stevie. This was beyond the drugs and the lifestyle during that time. Stevie wasn’t right mentally and it took her a very long time to be right in a good place. I am so happy with her that she can continue doing what she loves.
She is one tough lady! I have been through a lot in my life, but she has been through so much and still continues to sing and tour for us! I absolutely love this women!
"Rock a Little" was my intro to Stevie Nicks and the Fleetwood Mac rabbit hole!!! I've seen 8 or 9 solo Stevie concerts, and 5 FM tours....so for me, this is ultimate Gold!
I personally think the album version is beautiful, especially how at the end her voice is a whisper like she can barely get the words out anymore. You can hear the pain in her voice, like all she has left is that song. But this version is great too, and so fantastic she is taking a risk like this and performing something she’s never done before. Bravo!
What a beautiful live version. As for the album version, one of my favorite Stevie vocals of all time. I’m not surprised to hear Stevie remark in this way on her singing, as for her it’s a reminder of a dark time in her life. But I just imagine she’s just sang her heart out on stage, then spent the rest of the night at a crazy after party, then she sits down alone to look through a book of art of her favorite artist. Alone with her thoughts she sees the sun coming up out of the corner of her eye, and with morning light seeping into the room she sings “they say I have everything….”. So beautiful.
Lovely! I recognized it instantly! Stevie, the poet with the gentle heart but tough wild stamina to continue thru it all these years. Belladonna, you’ve inspired me greatly in my life. I wish I had the honour of telling you my ❤️ love you Tidi.
She's been dusting off obscure tracks for a few years now, so who knows ? It might happen. I'm thrilled that she brought "Sara" back into her live set as well, but asides from that song, I wouldn't mind if she did less stuff from Fleetwood Mac when she's touring on her own.
This is stunning! 💚 I'd love to hear more album tracks as well. As for less Mac, I'd love that too. Replace 'Dreams' with 'Talk To Me' 🙏 I realise that's never gonna happen. Just dreaming out loud......
I am as there that night. Everyone was in such happy moods, and it as contagious. I was fangirling b myself in my seat. Yes, I went alone. I have the best memories of listening to "Edge of Seventeen" the summer I graduated high school. We were consistently reminded why we adore our White Witch.
Stevie is one of the few "stars" that has kept band members/background singers over the long term (i.e. Waddy, Sharon) so they could actually have a "career" also. She is dedicated.
The are multiple acoustic demos of this song from the early '80s. Every single one is 100 times better than the version on Rock A Little, an album I LOVE. Didn't expect this AT ALL. Really wonderful.
WOW! I cannot believe I just witnessed her doing this song live. I figured any song from RAL, OSOTM, and SA would never be heard again live, much less a song never performed at all.
Three albums that she unfairly snobs in her solo concerts, that deserve better. I personnally could do with a little less Fleetwood Mac songs, and more of her solo material (with the exception of Sara, which she FINALLY brought back).
@@thomasdempsey721 Oh wow, so would I ! Best song on the "Street Angel" album. "Rooms on fire", "Talk to me", "Has anyone ever written anything for you", "Long way to go", "Rose garden", "Kick it", "Blue denim" and "Juliet" would all make great additions to her concerts.
@@stardusth2o Me too! I’ve been hoping she’d include that for years. There is a recording of a Street Angel tour rehearsal where they try Ooh My Love. You can hear right at the end, she’s says I think something like “I need to figure out what I’m going to sing at the end.” Since it’s just a rehearsal, it doesn’t have a ton of energy, but was nice to hear it as much live as I think we’ll ever get to.
@@mariejohnson8523 That song is from her 1985 album "Rock A Little". She does have a demo version that appears on the deluxe version of "The Wild Heart" album.
@@Heartboy1031 And, if I'm correct, the earliest demo version of the song was recorded in 1979. It's the one where her voice is perfect, with her just playing the piano. Sounds like the same period when she recorded the demo, "Castaway".
There nothing wrong with the ral version it’s the same as this performance. I’m happily she’s finally revisiting RAL. So sad she really hates it. 1984-86 she was at her creativity peak but at the edge of death so I understand not wanting to revisit but there’s so much ral content.
Wasn’t it a bad ass power move how she got Lindsey removed from FWM? She was tired of him being a jerk and didn’t want to put up with his toxic behavior. Girl power!
What the hell are you going on about. You don’t have a clue. Lindsey was fired because Tom Petty died and in her grief decided she needed to give Mike Campbell a job so she cherry picked reasons to have Lindsey fired. Saying he wanted a 2 year tour delay while seeming to forget it was her who stopped the bands planned 2012 tour pissing off Mick so much he badmouthed her in a Playboy interview. The only reason Mick went along with her demands is because he was likely broke again and needed cash. Mick can't even keep the bullshit that comes out of his mouth straight. He changed his story as to why Lindsey was fired so many times it'd be a miracle if he could even remember all the crap he said. The 4 of them minus Stevie had no problems in the studio making new music that became the Buckingham McVie album. Lindsey and Christine had a successful tour and zero complaints from Christine. It seems to me she's the one always creating drama. The band is over and that last tour was a joke that is best forgotten. Celebrating a bands 50 plus years and they chose to pay tribute to Tom Petty vs Danny Kirwan who actually died that year. Plus all that crap she said about Lindsey not wanting to play old material pre 75 from Fleetwood Mac and yet she herself didn't dust off any of her rarely played or never played songs from Fleetwood Mac beyond Storms which was eventually dropped early on and never returned to the setlist. It was another tired nostalgia tour where casual fans paid top dollar to hear the sing along greatest hits. Wasn't it Dick Fleetwood who said it was a new band and a new chapter blah blah bah. He also said the 2014 lineup would be the last too. I wouldn't trust a word that comes out of his mouth if his tongue was notarized by a county judge. Thanks to Stevie the band became a stale oldies act when they could have made new music to keep them vital. Look at the Rolling Stone interview with Brett Tuggle. He was there and saw it all and said himself how stupid it was to keep touring the mostly same old setlist vs making new music. The number of people who were part of the bands inner circle who called BS on allot of of things especially the 2018 drama and yet many in the Stevie cult refuse to believe anything beyond what SN says. She's known for changing her stories frequently and having selective memory so she's not the best person to be taking all she says as the gospel truth. When the Stevie Nicks and Friends tour ended in 2019 Mike gave an interview where he says he was lied to and made to believe Lindsey had quit Vs being fired. His relationship with her is not that great now and the last tour was not a good experience for many. With Christine dead that lineup will go down as the only one never to make a studio album. Lets not also forget the Stevie Cult members who suddenly acted like they were the biggest Peter Greene, Danny Kirwan, Bob Welch etc. fans when they probably couldn't even name 3 songs by any of those guys. Then to say the band has had many lineups but then admit they never saw any Fleetwood Mac lineup in concert that didn't feature her. Hypocrisy at it's finest. Oh and let’s not forget the numerous times she participated the least in terms of making a new album. From 1982 -2003 she could barely show up for the recording of the new Fleetwood Mac albums. They spent 2 Years on Tango and she she showed up for 10 days. Say You Will they recorded over two years and she gave them under a years worth of studio time. Because of her cocaine use and her lack of studio time during the Tango sessions Lindsey had to use the latest technology available at the time to make her appear on songs she didn’t even sing on because she wasn’t there. Lindsey has never stopped a Fleetwood Mac album or tour from happening but she’s stopped both tours and Studio albums from happening despite 3 out of 4 members and 4 out of 5 members being on board both times. All she can legitimately lay claim to is being able to put bums in the seats and having the bands only number 1 single but she can’t claim to have made Fleetwood Mac immortal. She’s not produced or arranged the music on any of their albums and spent the very least amount of time in the studio. Lindsey had a vision and thanks to him the bands legacy is assured. The last two studio albums they made with him in the band were the last to either have a top 5 debut and or sell a ton of copies. Nothing they recorded from 88-95 sold even a fraction of their previous efforts and that's why they rarely if ever play songs from this era. Their last top 40 singles were from Christine ( As Long as You Follow and Save Me) Richard Dashut has said it more than once how much Lindsey contributed to their legacy. Lindsey is hardly a jerk. A handful of incidents in 50 plus years does not make someone a jerk. Add to the fact that during the big reunion in 97 Mick apologized for the trash he wrote in his 1990 book ( though to be honest I don't believe for a second that he even wrote it. Stephen Davis actually wrote that trash book which was filled with half truths, outright lies and or embellished stories much like his awful Stevie Nicks Book from 2018). It's also comical how her more rabid cult like fans try to equate Lindsey's past behavior with the likes of Harvey Weinstein while ignoring the fact that her own Guitarist Waddy was busted for Child Pornography back in 1998 and is still in her band. Again the selective outrage from her cult is comical Lindsey is currently working on a new album while she’s doing the greatest hits nostalgia tour for the umpteenth time. One new song she hasn't done live out of a 16 song setlist but charging obscene prices to see her live this tour. For being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist you wouldn't even know she's had a solo career since she ignores most of her solo catalog from 85 - 2014 in her shows. So spare me the BS. Bella Donna should be renamed Prima Donna since that's what she's become.
“Power move” or short-sighted narcissistic and heartless dick move? Ironic that she destroyed the band, and in such a cruel public way. Total disregard for longtime Fleetwood Mac fans.
