I remember when I went to Burbank I was driving and I drove past it. I thought the area looked familiar and I looked back and was like, “Holy Crap, that’s the Back to the Future Burger King!”😂
True and just like in the film where they are watching The Honeymooners on radio and TV there was so much of the1950s back in 1985. The old Nick at Nite was all 1950s and 1960s shows back then.

Adam, you're probably not quite old enough to remember this, but Burger King single-handedly sparked a change in all of our fast food expectations in 1974. Prior to 1974, most people really didn't consider that they had a right to ask for additions, deletions, or substitutions on their fast food burgers. We all just pretty much ordered the burger, and it was made a particular way. That was the idea behind the franchise--you could expect to get the same product from any establishment with the same name. McDonalds, for instance, created a jingle to let everyone know just what they could expect to get when they ordered the Big Mac; "Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun." When you got home with your food, mom might take off the onions or wipe the ketchup off the bun--if you were lucky--but you otherwise ate it and were likely told you liked it like that. In 1974, Burger King told customers they could make changes; "Hold the pickles; hold the lettuce. Special orders don't upset us. All we ask is that you let us serve it your way..." That changed peoples' expectations for ever. It also changed their behavior, and people asked other establishments to make changes. I remember that not going very well early on. Some places would rudely remind you that "this isn't Burger King!" Others would flat out tell you to go to Burger King--and that's just what people began to do! To compete, these other establishments had to change their operations to smoothly accept special orders. Today, most people have no idea that true burger freedom came from "The King" like some modern day Burger Magna Carta. My first special order came from a Burger King establishment that no longer exists (I don't think). Science now tells us that memories change with each recall. Therefore, I may not be correctly recalling where the establishment was, but it was near the railroad tracks separating Long Beach and Lakewood, CA on Candlewood Street. It may be where Mama Mia's Pizza is (to the east of the tracks) or where El Pollo Chicken is (to the west)--but I just can't be certain. I remember that the employees wore these funny, tall, felt, multicolored hats and they spoke into large microphones attached to the counter to communicate your order to the folks in the kitchen. It was very liberating to ask for something special back then. We all see it as an entitlement today though--and we have Burger King to thank for it. Thanks, Adam. It's so great knowing that this Burger King is still around, but I do really miss the old exterior (and interior) designs from the 80s and 90s. I also agree with you on BTTF part 1 being the best, though I really enjoy the whole trilogy. All three movies bring back so much nostalgia and great memories of seeing them with my step dad when I was little. I'm so glad there won't be any remakes, reboots, or sequels any time soon! Some movies and franchises are better left as they are, and the BTTF series is one of those.

I went there when they were starting to remodel it about 5 years ago. It still had the classic movie look at the time it was closed for remodel and a Sunday so nobody was around. I lived out all my BTTF nerdiest in peace.

Bob Gale has said that the BTTF game is a close to anyone will get to there being a Part 4. I'm happy they won't sully the originals by making sequels or remakes.

A very memorable shot in BTTF. And I always remember the BK presence in Monster Squad as well. My parents used to take me to BK every Friday evening. We got a meal to go and returned home to watch The Dukes of Hazzard, my all time fave show (at that time).

We call Burger King Hungry Jacks here in Australia and one just opened last year 5 mins from my house haha once a month is my limit. i do double whopper with cheese no mayo, a double reminds me of the old ones and I add onion rings lol But I actually just found out the burger from the local fish and chip shop is very good but to help out small biz now we get that one. I remember the first movie and saw it with my dad and did up to when he died. Great video!!

Hey Adam, One of my all-time favorite movies is Back to the Future also! I was in my 20’s in the ‘80’s and thought that movie was the greatest! Michael J. Fox made that movie iconic. Thanks for sharing the history and locations. So interesting!

Grew up right by there, there used to be a toy's r us right next door. The restaurant to the left of Burger King had good times there too. Tks for the video!

FIRE!!!! This Burger King had a Fire a few years ago!! That's why and when they remodeled it! It IS TRUELY the Back to the Future Burger King! My son just recently showed me the Burger King scene from the movie. I NEVER realized it was MY local Burger King! No where near Doc's Mansion! Don't you LOVE movie magic! Especially this movie!!
Bob Gale has said that the BTTF game is a close to anyone will get to there being a Part 4. I'm happy they won't sully the originals by making sequels or remakes.
I agree n was gonna comment the same. I feel the same way about the Ghostbusters videogame as being part 3. I never seen n never will watch the 2016 version.
Someone has put together the cutscenes from the game and put it on RUclips as back to the future 4.
A very memorable shot in BTTF. And I always remember the BK presence in Monster Squad as well. My parents used to take me to BK every Friday evening. We got a meal to go and returned home to watch The Dukes of Hazzard, my all time fave show (at that time).

I ate here back in 2015 when I was visiting a bunch of the 'Back to the Future' filming locations, including the Gamble house.
I've driven by that Burger King a million times and never knew it was so historical! You've inspired me to watch the films. Have not seen them since they first came out. Thanks for the videos. I've loved this series.

We call Burger King Hungry Jacks here in Australia and one just opened last year 5 mins from my house haha once a month is my limit. i do double whopper with cheese no mayo, a double reminds me of the old ones and I add onion rings lol But I actually just found out the burger from the local fish and chip shop is very good but to help out small biz now we get that one. I remember the first movie and saw it with my dad and did up to when he died. Great video!!
