Jack Smith filed asking if the president has absolute immunity which is not what Trump is asking the courts to rule on. Read the briefs and you will see whyKagan was one of the Justices to rule against Smith.

This trauma has resulted in his ego, self esteem and vanity shoot through the roof (to a point where only the presidency will be acceptable, we’ve also seen his taste for women drastically change over the years as his type is now anything: young, with blonde hair/blue eyes, of Eastern European/Nordic descent etc). We’ve seen some ridiculous quotes, echoing previous dictators, the guy is agitated and on edge. Like a bruised and cornered lion he has push him himself to the extremes, or it’s over for him, and this is not far from the truth.
His rivals have now found the most opportune time to step away from any responsibility. Would they do this if anything nice was planned for him? We’ve seen the authorities in Colorado block a former president, way ahead in the polls make something of himself/even make a living without providing any alternative - now increasingly washing their hands of all accountability.
We’ve seen the thousands of courts in the NY region, whom could have reached a resolution in days if they wanted to and yet it is dragging on for many years. We’ve seen the evidence for their bias blatantly with our own eyes, through the media and sporting events etc. We’ve heard recollections from minorities supporting this. Yet they feel now is the best time to point the finger at DJT and relinquish all blame from themselves.
And now would be the best time, given he is about to become destitute through these excessive court cases, end up in jail or worse (we’ve seen how it ended with with other iconic presidents and they want this for him as he is an outsider to the establishment). No amount of money will fix this, this is about righting a wrong and proving not everyone thinks like they think and not everyone wants what they want. Like a cornered lion, he’ll need to come out fighting and have everyone behind him - get out and vote come the election!

Well said. The fact that we are taking this ridiculous challenge this seriously, to the point where it is going to get tied up and cause unecessary delays (the obvious intention), is absurd. I feel like we are all going to sit here and watch democracy circle the drain because any number of federal judges are too afraid to just say enough is enough. I think the overarching problem is that we have let political considerations seep into every aspect of criminal accountability in the higher orders of government. And, we have a major problem with the way in which we treat former Presidents. We like to say they are not Kings or Emperors but we are so deferential to them that they may as well be. In this case, the criminality is so grievous and excessive that it has made this problem almost comical - but at the same time very sad.

Why would Donald Trump take Colorado's 14th Amendment disqualification case to the Supreme Court. After all, if the Supreme Court does not find in his favor then this would completely shutdown any possibility of being elected. The truth is that though similar litigation is being considered in a dozen states, including battleground states of Arizona and Michigan, any opposing party has a very narrow window to file. And Colorado is going to vote blue with all it's electoral votes going to Joe Biden irregardless.
