@@beathecat6604 from what I’ve found, QAnon provides the propaganda that has succeeded in twisting MAGA peoples. Very much like the propaganda advertisement videos shown to the German people in movie theaters.
For them it was fake attacks at their borders , as an excuse to start a war and blame minorities for the country’s economic problems. (I’m probably off on some of that, but the gist is essentially, fascist propaganda was in play, both then and now.)

When I was in highschool, one of the electives you could take was philosophy and the running joke in our school was that whenever anyone took the philosophy class, one of the things they would realize when the class studied fascism was just how close the US was to fascism. This was back in the early 2010s, this was long before Trump came to power. Fascism has been present in America at least since the Cold War because fascism has always been more favourable in America to communism and many would say that it has been present since the very beginning of America since the colonists decided that they had the God-given right to steal land from the people who were there first and that they had the right to own another person based on the colour of their skin. All of this has been a long time coming, this is just the endpoint.

I grew up as an only child in a two income household and sharing with others took me so long to learn, after years of therapy and self reflection because I put in the work to become a better person. But the majority of these people don’t have self awareness, because that requires you to look inwards and accept your faults. I'm not saying we COULDN'T create a left wing militia
But there's the added fact that political and social will leans right of centre, if not completely right, so a left wing group trying to take over would be far more demonised than any right wing group ever is.
The right wing have people like Ben Shapiro and Fox news motivated by the money of the rich to demonise left wing people just for existing, trans people are the subject of constant scrutiny, and they have done nothing.

I now understand what happened in Germany in the 1930s. The rise of Donald Trump has been a patently terrifying experience. I don't live in America, but I live in Canada, heavily influenced by American politics, and the rise in the sort of nationalist, "take back our land" rhetoric has been incredibly disturbing. Particularly when it's not just the fringe, but the second largest party just adopted the slogan "Take Back Canada!" From who, they never really say. But most everyone can read between the lines, and those so inclined can insert their own chosen enemy. Leftism, SJWs, Indigenous Activists, whatever. We even have the anti-mask protesters, conspiracy theorists, and Qanon types.
Donald Trump's influence goes far beyond America, and that influence is only allowed to grow the longer we treat it like just 'gross politics' and refuse to call that influence what it is.

I don't blame you one bit. I'm afraid if that does happen, though, it'll be too little too late. Their votes will be cast by then, and even if Trump loses he'll just convince those of his followers who remain that all the COVID deaths were somehow Biden and the Dems' fault, and they should storm the capital with guns blazing. I thought for sure if there was to be *any* positive to come out of this pandemic it would be to finally show people how incompetent Trump is and cost him the election, but now with most mail-in voters being Democrats and the US postal service being rigged in his favor... I just don't know. The almost supernatural way everything seems to work out for this bastard, the way he can break the law in plain sight with nary a slap on the wrist, the way he can do no wrong in the eyes of his cult members... Fascism is capitalism in decay. Fascism recognizes the role of class struggle, like communism does, but it proposes a solution for it that protects the status quo (capitalism).
And that's why fascists are obsessed with secretive groups with unlimited power, and evil plots. Because if the world is shit, but you believe the world as it is shold be perfect, then the only logical explanation is that someone is engineering the shittiness.
