  • This is the BOSS RC-30 Loop Station. I made this video for people wanting to see how it works for guitarists wanting to experiment with looping. The RC-30 is a two-channel looper so you can layer up two different loops on each channel then play or stop either and continue to then layer it up with parts.

    With this pedal can you record an A part of rhythm guitar and also a separate B part? For example have an acoustic guitar part A looping a few times and play over the top then switch to the pre recorded part B then use the pedals to switch between the A and B parts as required?

    Can you have two different amps running from the outputs? One amp for rhythms and the other for solos(perhaps a clean amp and a over driven amp). …How different is this from the Digitech Jamman?

  • @ClaudioBertuccio

    On the RC20XL I can check the input level, is not possible on RC-30?? If so, it does not make much sense ... How do I know the level of input clips?.. How can I make a guitar change during a concert? (the two volumes would inevitably be different)

I have this pedal and I stopped using it for a few days and it did not turn on, I changed the batteries and just turned on the Power LED, the others never lit and it did not work, I read that it could be the sleep mode but by pressing the left pedal and inserting the cable to output I stayed the same, has anyone had the same problem and knows what I can do?

    I recently purchased a H&K Grandmeister 36 that is loaded with effects in this all tube amp. I'm having a hard time using the RC-30 Loop Station because any distortion, delays, modulation, etc that I add to the amp sound alters the tracks and drums recorded in the RC-30. The amp also has an FX Loop built in with the "send" and "receive", but that doesn't help utilizing it for the loop station.
    Any suggestions concerning how to use the RC-30 with this type of amp so that the recorded tracks do not become altered?

    • @alexnovais7
      @alexnovais7 4 года назад

      Check in the H&K app if the fx loop of the Amp is after the preamp or the power Amp.

      Yes it does. I play live and I use this pedal to pre-record certain tracks to the memory. It has 99 different memory banks, so just make sure you remember what you have recorded on which bank!

    I called fender to see how to hook up a looper pedal to the mustang IIIv2. I was told you cant without changing the effects every time you change the pre sets. not true. I did more digging and found that if you go into utility and go to effects loop and change it from normal to looper it works fine.

    I feel bad for left handed guitar players. You walk in the music shop and there's 400 guitars on display and one of them will be a lefty if you're lucky and it will usually be some obscure model nobody would want to own in the first place.

Would you agree with me if I said that this would just end up something I used a few times and then it would gather and collect dust. • @WesleyNilsen
      @WesleyNilsen 9 лет назад

      2 tracks only means that you can have two different separate tracks that you can mute and edit separately. Both of those tracks can hold as many loops as you want, as long as you keep it under 3 hours (like anyone would ever do more than that).

      @Sanfrandan22 9 лет назад

      @ARIELSMARTYPANTS it takes some time to get down but not as hard as you think .... It's soooooooooo fun once you start getting the hang of it....I so thought after I got it that maybe I should take it back but I'm so glad I didn't and kinda wish I got the RC-300 but at the time I needed an amp and other stuff. And one other thing I initially started with the RC- 3 ..just the one pedal but I wanted more and so I went and got the 30, definitely not a regrettable decision. So Arielsmartypants don't be afraid just go after your dreams, it may be hard at first and maybe even a bit impossible but if your determined and really want to succeed you CAN and you WILL!

    • @ArielsSmartyPants
      @ArielsSmartyPants 9 лет назад

      Oh I didn't say it was too hard, I said complicated, there's a difference :) Also I mentioned expensive too but some will pay super high prices for pedals, I'm not one of them. Cheers.

    Rc30 is not that great. Had one for live use. Aside from it freezing up periodically,bad, its method of switching tracks is ridiculous. You have to hold down foot switch 2 for 2 seconds, try this out for a while and it will become obvious that's its antiquated. There are much better units for less like the ehx 22500.

  • @jamjestrysiek

    Showing foot pressing pedal without any explanation is not really helpful with understanding how this thing actually works.

      Demo still should show some features. Doesn't have to be very deep, but at least some basics. Here is just some play and I don't really know anything about this product.

    RC 30 - way too strange and non-intuitive for proper stage play and has some serious issues: you HAVE to start overdubbing when you push the pedal. You can't erase one of the channels while the other plays (good luck never ever making a mistake). It is especially hard to start or stop all tracks at once (it seems to occasionally be possible, but I can never quite say when). They should really have a mode where each pedal IS the separate track, as if you had two seperate RC 3's that were metronome synced. They should really update this model, or make multiple foot switches for the RC 202 series... Hardly worth it for the money...

      At the time of purchasing this there wasn't many options on the market.

      @@intheblues True - I just didn't see many more from BOSS two years ago when I ordered it and assumed it would be a little more like the RC 300. (the 202 and other "02" series weren't in guitar departments anywhere; I just stumbled upon them more recently) Ah well, by now I've learned to live with its quirks :). The Step Phaser is pretty cool! It's really not so bad, and you can plug those little Teenage Engineering samplers/drum machines and/or Korg delays directly into it, if you want, plus microphone...
