Cesar Franck's sonata is the one every violinist wants to play and it's the one I like the most for its incredible melancholy and strength, its power to transport whoever listens to it to a unique world.bravo Stoika Milanova!!!!!🎻♡ I was still 14 and would be turning 15 years old
Thank you for posting. I have listened to almost every concert Stoika Milanova gave in Sofia, Bulgaria, since early 1970's. All of them were "events" and the concert hall was packed at each one of them. This recording is new to me and a great reminder of the talent of Stoika Milanova and Radu Lupu who made his name world renowned in his own right.
One of the most lucid performances of this masterpiece I have heard. Lovely! And moving. Thank you to Lupu and Milanova, and to you for posting it. (Not to mention to César Franck.)
If you ever get to hear her live performance of Shostakovich's Violin Concerto #1 from the 1967 Queen Elisabeth Competition, it is simply overwhelming, especially the Passacaglia, cadenza, and Burleske. Hoomeyow!!

My favorite violin sonata, heard so many times.
Two musical souls so in synch with each others. Just a delight!

Помню ещё Йова Миланова. Дочка её, наверное.
