Water is a west coast issue. Vegas has been cracking down on water waste for decades. We are the top state state/city in the country for water conservation and getting far better. Because of those efforts, California and Arizona have more concerns about availability of water than southern Nevada. The concern level is not at zero, but it's not what the media has people believing.
Do you really think there will be no more water in vegas in 10 years? The government would just say "eh, it's only like tens or hundreds of trillions worth of buildings and land that will become worthless." Doing nothing would cost thousands of times more than doing something, so I'd bet something would be done to solve that problem.
