I hope you don't mind but after reading the comments I thought I would post my uses for Tomato powder. I've done this for years!
Tomato paste: Mix 2 parts powder to 1 part water to make as much or as little tomato paste as you need.
Tomato sauce: Combine 1 part tomato powder to 6 parts water to make tomato sauce. To make the equivalent of a 15-oz can use 1/3 cup tomato powder and 2 cups of water.
Tomato juice: Stir 2 tablespoons tomato powder into 8 ounces of cold water for a refreshing tomato juice.
Instant tomato soup: Stir 2 tablespoons of tomato powder into 8 ounces of boiling water. Add a pinch of onion and/or garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Pizza sauce Combine 1/2 cup tomato powder and 1 1/2 cups water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder, oregano, and basil, plus a pinch of salt. Add 1 tsp. of sugar to counter the acidity, and simmer until the sauce is thick.

Hello everyone. A quick heads up, in case anyone’s interested. I was just on Walmart website and they have Presto 23-quart pressure canners with pressure gauge for $100. They’re out of stock of the other ones without the pressure gauge. I know how hard they’re to come by so I figure I’d share. Good luck. Mrs. @HomesteadHeart this is an awesome idea thanks for sharing. PS. I hope that it is ok to share this info on here. If it's not ok please feel free to remove/delete. Thanks 🙏🏼♥️🍅

I use tomato powder all the time. I add it to spaghetti sauce, stew, soups, even if it is a tomato based sauce I still add tomato powder. It just gives everything a little more depth of flavor. I also use it as a seasoning and sprinkle it lightly on chicken breasts or burgers or what ever. I have some peels in my dehydrator right now, and a batch setting in the freezer waiting their turn lol. You explained this process very well. But you always teach us so much. You and Mr Heart are such a blessing to so many. God bless.

I've been doing this for years, and I still watched your video. :-) Well done! Haunt thrift shops and yard sales for a coffee grinder. If you get a coffee or spice grinder new,, helps to have the important bits stainless in case you grind up things like cardamom, etc. and not retain odor/flavor from other foods.

Frances Crawford Which dehydrator do you own? I’m shopping for one now and want recommendations. Not sure if I want to spend so much on a Excalibur.

@@harmonyhomeandgarden I have the presto dehydrator. I purchased it at Walmart. I need to order an insert so smaller items do not fall thru the opening. I have been using parchment paper in the meantime.

I bought a blender off the internet this year: was really worried because it wasn't name brand and shipping took so long. However it has a motor on it that looks a little like a lawn mower engine and girls! let me tell you! It does everything! It's 1800 watts instead of the usual 600 watts, it makes the smoothest baby food, grinds coffee beans, chops eggs and veggies, I love it! No more ninja's for me! $100 on Amazon

I dehydrated some older can's of spaghetti and tomato sauces and turned them into powder, that was so great! we figured out how much sauce powder to use to rehydrate for making spaghetti sauce, about 1/4 cup makes 1 cup of sauce! we also have an Excalibur. Powdering the sauce was interesting, a little tricky, and it is sticky, but we powdered it! Yeap a coffee grinder used solely for making powders.

Hey! I've got the same exact watch as you Mrs H. 😉
Fantastic use of the skins. No more tomato skins in my compost. Thanks so much.

Do u have to clean each tray inbetween each batch? Or can u use parchment paper?thanks for u being u. And Mr H. U all are a joy to watch. I watch u for many hours and learn a lot. But being in a powerchair, its difficult to do a lot of things. And I know you are a GOD FEARING COUPLE,but I really need your prayers right now. I need a handi-cap vehicle. Not asking for your personal help, just your prayers.God knows all about it. The reason I'm putting it on your channel is, I know u have a lot of veiwers. So if every one watching u that's a beleiver, would pray for my situation.I would be for ever grateful. Its hard to get to places when u have to get on the road, sidewalks when available. Here in Calhoun Ga. Theres very little of them especially aroud where I 'm located. Sorry for all this on your channel. I know it is inappropiate. The prayers is what I'm after. Again SORRY. LOVES ALL AROUND!!!

Good information on what products to buy. I've used my oven and it does take a while but it worth not having to go out and buy paste that's been processed. Thank you!
