MY GUYS I know it might not visually look like I used any Nitrous on those runs, but for whatever reason the Nitrous was either infinite or it wasn't showing on the HUD when it was being used. The easiest place to see it in use is at 7:52 where I get an overtorque damage warning from using the Nitrous right at the start of the stage. You also see my BHP jump to 350. Keep in mind that it pretty much wouldn't be possible to get this without extra power, given I was running a completely stock truck save the happy gas.
I've seen a few videos with people running this map, and I'm wondering - does BeamNG support random asset spawning? E.g. as the water is triggered, preplaced assets spawn randomly, which means you can't really get an advantage from playing the map other than knowing what you can expect around each bend. You won't know for certain that there's a massive pot-hole or a digger at the side of the road or if there's a boulder on the left or right side of the road etc.
His biggest problem for handling probably wasn’t even the tires, because he can handle stuff sliding. The issue was the lack of weight in the rear, it was way too front heavy and it made it impossible to control
@@TrolledBy nah the icon next to the speedo goes blue when its turned on and green when its in use or the other way round either way it changes colour

Jimmy, I've been disabled for 2 years now from a back injury. Your streams and videos have helped keep my spirits up many times. Thank you for building this awesome community and being such an awesome guy.
I love how at the end you basically built/found the GMC Syclone and then did exactly what Car and Driver did over 30 years ago, complained about how it's too truck for the street and too street for truck things. Gotta say watching you blast up the mountain in that beast was super fun! Neat that video games can allow us to explore things we'd be deeply terrified of doing in real life, and maybe even have a laugh or two while we're at it
About the "skateyness" of the tarmac, that map is not representative of the typical asphalt surfaces in the game. It's designed to be bumpy and uneven for the difficulty, but if you go on any other map with roads it is much smoother and feels better. Honestly I'm not a huge fan of that crater map for that exact reason, the road does not feel natural at all. Also you never turned on the nitrous! You need to press B or click it in the bottom right (itll turn green when armed and turn blue when on the throttle and spraying nos)
There is no bug with nitrous, it's been like that since they introduced it. They could change the behaviour a bit to make it usable only after toggling it, but the way it's worked up until now was intentional
Re 1: Having tried this map in a slightly modified Covet EE - Yes, that road is SO bumpy. That little car survived, barely, and did NOT like the mud area. I imagine I could have had a slightly better time with larger mud-grip tires. Re 2: They literally just dropped a patch today fixing that bug. "POWERTRAIN: Fixed N2O not being used correctly when manually triggered." Source: It's on my Steam patch notes on the other monitor while I type this.
I'd love to see a series on this where you try to beat the flood in different cars, working your way back from supercars to the lowest spec possible still to beat it
A supercar would be one of the most difficult vehicles possible to try to beat this. It would get shaken apart completely in the dirt sections and the tarmac on this map is made intentionally bumpy and terrible, it would not enjoy those sections either
"so I've done what all terrified American do to their truck and add more power" is genuinely one fo the best lines I've heard in years throughout your videos
We need a server that has this locked to a specific time trial vehicle and set the flood to be a few seconds behind the current record. * evil laughter *
Is that driver 3 chase soundtrack in the background because it's giving me really bad flashbacks combined with this anxiety attack of a map. Masterful choice Jimmer.
Saw someone’s video of you teaching them at caldwel. Your a good man. Keep at it brother. All this knowledge your giving the world about driving and how sim is a great start for understanding. Long while fan. Life long fan.
Oh Jimmy I know why beamng skips on tarmac, with the node system the tyres have fixed points, by pressing CTL on the keyboard you can see this, where there isn't nodes the tyres have a flat point, at slower speeds like 1-3 mph you can see that the car basically trods like it's in square wheels, which is why on dirt you don't notice, it's a bit of a shame but hopefully they fix it.
For those who don't know, when you press the nitro, the little white line around the edges of the button on the bottom right slowly depletes as the nitro can depletes. That's what the joke was in the beginning. Soooooo yeah he never used nitro lol
How pussified has our world become where a commentator feels the need to give a heads up to those with…”flood/deep water anxiety”?! How did Jimmers miss giving a warning to those with a fear of car crashes??
It's not very hard to understand where he's coming from. His regular viewers would not be afraid of car crashes due to the content he puts out, but could be afraid of deep or rising water. It is not difficult to respect the people that are bringing you your paycheck.
Honestly. Also what fool would have that fear then click on a video that says "escape the flood" it'd be like clicking a video that says "base jumping" with a fear of heights
Huh, this mod actually might be useful practice for me as someone living along the Cascadia subduction zone. Probably should start practicing running from tsunamis before The Big One hits.
I grew up basically along a flood plane. Long story short, every spring our backyard (usually just that) would flood quite rapidly. Parents finally had to demo the house a few years ago after it flooded out entirely the 2nd time in about 10 years (and insurance wouldn't cover it as it was a known flood zone).... So yea, flooding freaks me out a bit, but in games it doesn't bug me too much usually :P

"the tires have no grip" while running street tires and uses locking diffs in the unlocked state. also yea that modded map has an extra bumpy surface making the truck bounce
I totally recommend it, got 300+ hours in it and I'm still having fun with it every now and then.
