Good tip man. We do the same of the golf course. Have a designated nursery that we cut like the rest of the golf greens and repair any damaged spots with grass from the nursery. Handy!
Thanks for the video. I have a side of my house that is all grass I wanna turn into just mulch so I don't have to mow. But I also have a back yard bald spots. This is a perfect instructions on what to do
This was the most helpful tutorial I’ve found love that your using just a shovel I did it over some a spot where tree roots were growing and it actually survived over the top of the roots with the dirt the roots were already holding.
I always forget to see if I have other mature lawn to re-plant before I seed dead areas. In fact, I just seeded a bunch on my front lawn and I wish I had done this!
I do the same thing and I put a light thin layer of dirt over the whole thing grass comes up through looks nice makes it level you do a good job though
Your grass looks so great. Mine is full of weeds but my wife is against toxic spraying. How do you make it level over time so it’s not so lumpy where the re used sod clumps were put down? Sprinkle dirt over the grass on the low spots? Should I reuse pieces of sod if they have a few weeds in them? I have some complete bare spots of solid packed dirt. Would I just need to dig up the hard dirt to allow the sod to sit flush with the rest of the grass or should I loosen the ground even below it?
Awesome channel! Off topic, but wondering what a good Fall preemergent in MS would be and when to put it down? Mix of Centipede, St Augustine, some kind of carpet grass( dont know what it is but its thick and love it), and Bermuda on an Acre lot. No irrigation.
Grass Daddy large sections of it went gatcho brown on me and aren't recovering with a lot of water. I think it was due to a dull blade and extreme heat. I'm in Texas with Bermuda grass and clay soil. Plenty of sunlight so idk. Can't wait for some cooler weather so I can airate and overseed. I think I'm going to post it in Reddit and poll the good ppl of lawncare

Thanks for explaining how to do this. Others thought it was weird to want to relocate my grass to save time and money and prevent waste.
Ha! Did you get it done Leona?! Hope so!🇬🇧😊
Im in the process doing it. Didn't look right so i looked up this video
Great video! I wish your little guy would have stayed to see you put together the giant puzzle!

I didn't realize grass was so hardy . That looked simple. I just did mine just now
I have been transplanting sod lately w/ poor success. Now I know why, thanks.!
Thanks 😊 I needed this video. I just bagged grass from digging up landscaping area. Thanks 🙏
Thanks. I need to create a decomposed granite area in my backyard. I can move the St Augustine to bald spots in my front yard.
Diaper baby!! Looks like you have a “supervisor” there.

+chris ryan haha I usually do the same
Where are all the rocks? ...and clay? I'd love to have your soil. Good video my friend.
+Blue Grass King ya that spot had no rocks but the blueberries took forever to dig out from the rocks.
Another great tip from Grass Daddy! Instant lawn (almost) 👍🏼
Thanks!

My wife was the same. Now I call the shots on the lawn, and spray to get rid of dandelions. But don't do spray it before you plant grass seed...
Nice work!
Thank you!! I was totally doing this wrong!
Nice video man!
I was thinking of growing grass in trays and doing patch work.
yes! some people grow them in pots year round too, so if you have to pull a weed you can replace it easily
GOOD IDEA

Prodiamine works well ;-)
Thx!
1000 likes for little helper lol
Why didn't you use your Pro Plugger? I was thinking about purchasing one after watching your review.
Gary Resta Probably because he was clearing out a space for an entire bed. He had to remove all that grass anyway.
+Bernarr Coletta is correct. I still use the proplugger but this was one of those everything must go deals
Wondering if this will work with zoysia? I imagine it will. kid is too cute - and very well-behaved.
it will work with any type of grass as you are moving the whole root system and all
Thank you!
baby sooo cute
great video
+Del's Lawn Care thanks!
my neighbor took some plugs from my yard and transplanted to his yard. is that even legal?
Great video and technique… but there is a baby in the way 🤣
Is this dead spot from Glyphosate?
+Kyle Bryan yes
I do this all the time!
Get that wagon outta the road! 🤣😂
I forgot cones =P

Bite your fingernails = no where for dirt to stay
