    I thought quise, the preterite of querer meant exclusively "to try" in the past, and that no quise meant "to refuse", in the past, and that queria meant wanted.

    Ugh, "el fondo". I was looking for the Avianca line at an airport everyone kept telling me, "Está al fondo." I thought "fondo" meant "background" so... what??? I didn't know it was *another* Spanish word for "end". Fortunately people always point.
