I enjoy your videos, Tom. Because of you I started carp fishing. I caught my first ever carp a few days ago then I lost one yesterday, but that's part of the experience.
The tailless carp is one of the rarest carp to catch. A once in a life time catch. The only thing that could top that is a unicorn carp. Turned out to be a nice session for you tom! Lets hope that tailess grows into a thirty and gets caught again.
Check out Chod Rig/Helicopter Rig for fishing over weed. Thats what i use in UK. If you use a buoyant bait and let it slide up line to a stop bead as the lead hits bottom, it will sit on top of weed. Or a bit of dissolvable foam over the hook so the point doesn't catch on the way down,it will come off leaving your hook clear
This past week I caught 4 huge Buffalo and a 9lb common carp on your packbait recipe. 2 different days too. Much respect to you and your channel. Definitely a fan of your informative videos. Keep up the good work 👏
Tom you have the patience of a saint with those weeds and a carp on the end of your line. That was a clean cut had to be with a knife, and I am sure they laugh about it afterwards. They need to be caught and have something cut off. Thanks for the video.
Probably cut off by the prop of somebody trolling for walleyes in 2ft of water. But on a serious note, you've made me want to get out for some carp. It's been a long time and I forgot how fun they were...
Watching this from over the pound while tying hooklenghts for methodfeeder. Funny thing is I was on the bank the same day as you, 31st of July, and I had a stellar session :) Tight lines and keep having fun!
Well done! Re weedy venues: it looks like you have no problem getting the carp to notice your hookbait. In a lot of YT videos, UK anglers use Helicopter rigs in weed - have ever tried those? They make sense, but again it doesn't look like you need to change anthing. Just wondering 🤔
@@josephquinn7356 One way is to feel through the line when the bait hits the bottom. Hard thud = clear. Soft landing or no bottom thud at all = weeds. Also the type of weeds that come back on the retrieve are a clue. Fuzzy mossy stuff or dead plant matter usually comes from the bottom. Leafy viny stuff usually grows upward toward the surface and doesn't cover the bottom.
Ive been using a curved shank crank hook size 6 i bought off off temu. They're just as sharp as the G carp hooks and octopus hooks and has a thicker diameter than both hooks. Havnet had one hookpull since using them. 30 hooks for bout 4 bucks i think theyre the best hooks ive used so far which is wild since i bought them off of temu not expecting much
@@OutsidewithTom that's what I thought but I saw a Simon crowe video and he was talking about how big carp in his opinion won't take fruity bait as often
@@SirDirtycusD Doesn't make much sense to me, but he can have his opinion if it makes him feel confident. I don't think big carp get to be big by being picky eaters.

@@johnnystephenson6908 I have some 6.5 footers that I use for Pike and like them a lot. Had those before I got the 9 footers for carp. Don't have any experience with 7 footers. They make them in several different power and length combos to suit your specific needs. cabelas.xhuc.net/gbm3D5

That would be pretty amazing if I caught that fish again sometime. Thanks, Tom.
Love your videos man love how you just keep it simple!
I appreciate that, thanks Brian!
Carp fishing here in Pennsylvania has been weird to for slow season for me.

I'm sure they wouldn't like a dose of their own medicine very much. Thanks for watching David.

I haven't. Generally, if I can't find a relatively clear bottom to present the bait, I'll just go fish somewhere else.
@@OutsidewithTomhow can you determine if the bottom’s clear? Do you cast a lead out to different areas beforehand?

Right on 👍
I go fishing at night. All the boats and jet skiers are sleeping at 3 am.
Another great time, but that grass would have driven me nuts.
Yeah, the weeds can be pretty annoying at this spot. Thanks Steve.
That no tail carp is a new one by me.
Me too, very strange.
In the time it took me to watch this video. I just went 3for5. Spicy Siracha tiger nuts and field corn.
Nice 👍
@outsidewithTom what kind of bait do you recommend for targeting big carp?
My opinion is, there's no such thing as big carp bait. Only way to target big carp is to fish where the big carp live.

great video
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks Orlando!
Well done Tom. Not easy fishing through weed.
Thanks Ray!
Cut was to clean for a prop
I agree.
I carry medicine for carp if they bleed
Cool. I don't think any medicine is going to fix that fish.
What’s wrong with people?
I know, pretty messed up, huh.
How much do you like those Elite rods?
Very much. Here's a video where I talk more about them. ruclips.net/video/8gDwZ-AdvXc/видео.html

You could say that tailess carp was a P.B.😂
That's awful
I agree.
