Ganon and falcon are not really even a mirror match anymore if you ask me. Ganon has a very similar move set but instead of combo food he just punishes super early instead. It usually ends up being a punish game for Ganon while falcon can combo so many different moves into one another without having to rely on an opening.
Just a matter of time before Fatality plays each of us in a ft10

Even though he was bottom tier in Smash 4, at least he was getting buffs almost every patch. He's been getting fucking nothing in Ultimate.
Volcano kick has more use than warlock punch imo. But no one is getting new moves in any patch :,(
@@ogreaggressuv Yeah, I frequently use volcano kick at the ledge, but warlock punch should never be used unless you break a shield. Even with its super armor you need pure luck to land it. No one is going to get new moves from patches, just changing the properties, knockback, frame data, and damage of the attacks.

All he needs is a viable out of shield option. If his warlock kick gave him his jump back like in melee thatd be huge too
Zooker Ganon’s design in this game is wonderful imo. If you think he’s bad now, go back and watch him in Melee, Brawl, and 4 and tell me his current form isn’t his strongest, most competitive, and most fun to date.
I'd say he's far more viable in Melee than now.
@@henrymatthews1526 doesn'y mean it is good. Before ultimate Ness was at his strongest in SSB4 but he was still mediocre at best. Only in ultimate he managed to become viable

Mac main here. Ganon Main's, we feel your pain. Matchup spreads be damned, we play our characters because we love them dammit! But God it hurts being bottom 3
And that fact you character gets even more bullshit than Ganon
If Mac had normal aerials and SideB reset After hit (with some small Nerf) he would be decent mid tier
But Hey Nintendo doesn't do rework
@@Mepphy99 I don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they nerfed him in transition to Ultimate. He was already low tier. All they needed to do was fix side b and his multi hits and he would have at least been playable.

These FT10 are great, it would be cool if you took a couple minutes to talk about the match after it ends though. What the opponent did right or wrong, how you feel about the character matchup, or even highlighting points in the match where something notable happened and explaining the interaction
I gotta hand it to Rickles. He did a lot better than I thought he would against a buffed Falcon

These games perfectly exemplify why I hated when people used to say "X character hits you 20 times for 100%% and then Ganon does that with 3 hits". It should be "Ganon gets you to 100% and then gets gimped off stage at 0"
Holy shit that combo at the last stock was outrageous, very few characters can turn the direction of their corner carrying combos like that and I guess falcon is part of the club now
really enjoying the long sets with the best players for a given character. i could watch your falcon gameplay all day
This matchup is what i've been waiting for - i'm just glad you're not charging for these FT10's because I would have paid lol
Though no one asked, i believe the ganon buffs to "fix him" is:
-Have his dash move further. About 1/5 more so he can get in faster
-give late u-air spike properties again
-dark dive can hit crouching opponents
-dark dive recovery after landing on opponents better (tech check less likely to happen in response)
-stun on down throw increased and less knockback
-increase stun on neutral air first attack

Hard to say what it would take to bring Ganon back to even Melee levels of viability. But if they can elevate Falcon as much as they have, Ganon could at least make mid tier with a good patch I think. Theyll never buff his movement, but if they sped up his up b it would give him some desperately needed defensive options.

Unbelievable, fatality's combos and skills are crazy, I've never seen anyone unleash an instant victory.

2:22 I noticed a lot of pros are hesitant to use get up attack even tho it's the right option in some situations
Sometimes getup attack is beaten by other moves. I could be wrong but I feel like Falcon's down smash might have slightly more range and priority in that instance.

Watching this made me realise just how insane Falcon edge guarding is.
Ganon players: I’ve learned every matchup so I know what reads to make since they’re all I have. Falcon players: HAHA I do one side b it turns into 50% 0-death lol
That last stock, last match was absolutely mental. Had no idea back air has a hitbox there to send behind falcon to set up for a raptor boost. 0.0

I know Rickles is really good, so I wish I saw more offstage play earlier on in these games. Falcon is just as susceptible to getting rock-crocked as Ganon is, so challenging his recovery with dropzone Nair is pretty good in this matchup.
For the first 8 or so games, he mainly U-tilted at ledge or tried reading getup and ledgetrapping with Fair (which is good but it didn't really start working out until around game 10). Either way, Fatality got back to stage relatively for free for basically the first 8-ish games.
Besides that, games were sick. Gotta love the Father/Son matchup lmao.
Going offstage is risky on its own if ganon gets up b by falcon he has to tech or he loses the stock
And even if he gets the tech falcon can just hit him straight back
So unless you are 100% going offstage just isn't worth it
@@pandinus1377 I'm well aware. I think rickles is good enough to tech 95% of stage spikes. Hell, I retired from ultimate and I can still hit the tech on falcon/ganon up B super consitently. Its the easiest stage spike in the game to tech. Not to mention if you DO tech, you get a guaranteed punish, as ganon and falcon get stuck in animations (also known as rock crocking). This usually finishes them off. Its more rewarding than anything once you know how to tech it.
As much as I hate Ganandorf’s immediate damage ramp up I love the bass of each move he does. It sounds heavy.

Ganondorf coverage is so hard to watch; he needs a total remake so he's not just Slow Falcon. Please, Nintendo, dig into the Zelda series and give your favorite dark wizard a proper identity that's not "big man hit real hard."

it'd be cool to have a new up tilt for Gannon. The swords on his smash are sweet, but up tilt is so bad
My ideas for ganon buffs:
2 big buffs:
Side B doesnt put you in special fall as a recovery buff
Up smash does more shield damage
Smaller buffs to round it out are fixing his worse hitboxes amd smalmer buffa to everything else like priority or shaving a frame
This reconfirms my theory: a match against Ganon is always even until it is over. No matter how big the lead is and who is leading, it can and does change in just a few interactions.
this “theory” isn’t ganon-specific. it works on every character with a decent advantage state. if anything, it doesn’t really apply to ganon because he’s so easy to abuse

One thing I will say tho: his up smash is still the scariest in game 😂. Use that to your advantage

Quack Peep Ganon was the closest to being viable in Melee.

Ganon is one of my fav characters to watch in this game because he’s so glass canon that you have to basically twitter clip him with every combo or risk losing your stock in 2 hits.
