The fear of a player with a good marth/lucina down tilt at ledge is enough to intimidate a lot of people.

@@willk113 It's actually way more hype/entertaining to watch the full thing live, since the outcome isn't yet determined, and you get to experience it with everyone else as it happens.
Seeing Fatlity’s views go up after the falcon buffs is so cool because he’s been making quality content for awhile now and finally getting some good recognition.

@@ETHBK I've rewatched that last exchange dozens of times and I think you're right. My first thought was Leo just b-reversed the grounded shieldbreaker to punish Fatality on the ground after his crossup nair.
The more I watch it the more I think he covered that option as well as the dash away perfectly though, Leo seems very cognizant of Falcon's bad dash animation during these matches

Every single move seems almost calculated- even when he whiffs the reads it all looks intentional...he's just that far above us all LOL
Seeing Leo play is so enjoyable. He has such a fun, flowing playstyle. It's also nice to be reminded that he is absolutely not "carried by Joker."
To be honest though his Joker is really fun to watch anyways, and besides it's very much him carrying Joker to victory, not Joker carrying him.
Honestly, I'm out here saying that Joker isn't the best character in the game and that Pika is, because Leo is just that good and Esam is inconsistent (I don't mean to bash the dude, I just mean in terms of results). I view it like when Leo made everyone think Ike was a top 5 character by being godlike, except not nearly as extreme of a jump in placement.

Idk man, i mean he won against fatality but it might've been beginners luck. He could learn a thing or two from the pros, but with practice he can make it for sure
Bruh, MKLeo was a Marth main (since Smash 4) before he has changed to Joker. So it is not about luck. He know how to play Marth propely.
Edit : And theses buff made him glad to replay his old main.

like I get that the buffs did help here, but as for the overall set this was one of very few times the buffs looked like they made a difference. Maybe Leo will tell/show me how wrong I am, but I feel like Marth's buffs were too minor. To me Marth's problem has always been that his moves are too laggy to throw out in a meta where people try to play super patient and campy, or directly in your face where they don't work and you're better off using lucina
Eric Smart but he and Lucina have the same frame data, so his attacks are no lagging than hers. Also, many other people have pointed out how much easier it is to land tippers now and Mkleo is pretty much the only well known Marth player that has said that he doesn’t feel a difference, also he barely used forward air, which is incredibly easy to tipper now
I never thought I'd see the day when Mkleo tries out Marth again. I'm a simple man. I see Mkleo and Marth, I click.

His gameplay really highlights the difference between a good Falcon and a great Falcon

Watching Leo play Marth, I could feel those Back Air buffs more than anything, although that Up Air buff scored Leo a kill because pre-patch it wouldn't have worked (he got 2 kills off up air, but only one would have worked pre-patch, because they haven't changed the lightsaber effect of the sweet spot yet, so I could tell where the old and new sweet spots are at). The Forward Air buffs seem kinda meaningless, since that was the only move that was easy to space properly, so I couldn't see much difference
Yeah, the buffs are noticeable, but even still I don't see a reason to play Marth over Lucina in most situations. Mostly just hype because we all like Marth.
I'm really liking these consistent set videos you're doing. Keep doing these, highly entertaining
Few things I noticed:
Fatality is missing a lot of grabs
He sometimes spams random smash attacks and up b
He’s getting A LOT better
True, it bothers me when he stops playing neutral correctly to randomly up smash or forward smash. I get that it's online and stuff and random smash attacks are actually pretty unpunishable but falcon had many better tools imo.
meh, sometimes dumb stuff just works when you mostly play smart
the upsmashes are pretty lagless. But the fsmashes I never understood. Leo knows falcon fishes for grabs so hes gonna avoid them more than most.
While there's not really any defending fsmash spam, the upsmash is due to how almost lag free it is and can bait opponents into punishing and catching them off guard with it's recovery.
Eh as a hero and g&w main I can say sometimes it’s the stupid things that work, like I can just f-smash like 5 times and it’ll work

a lot of people say ultimate has no punish game, but when i see fatality hit a raptor boost at 17% and combo into a kill (12:57) and i start to think that maybe people have not optimized this game to the fullest, i have faith in the competitive scene, especially with fatility and the falcon buffs
The tipper sound effect will never get boring.

those matches were incredibly educational, so much to pay atention and adjust in terms of speed, range, intangibility, armor, timings and mind games, good games for both of you!
also got me thinking about the real worth of range in the game, as we see many chars with absurd range, but Marth/Lucina have good range with lots of speed behind most their moves, so their range helps a lot to neutralize most of their foes options, and we see that a lot in leo's playstile, always trying to cancel your attacks with perfectly ranged intangible attacks.
Props to this guy keeping his and Leo's hype moments in the clips.

Fatality, I’m a fairly recent sub and these buff matches between you and Larry Lurr first and now Leo have been supremely enjoyable. You’re a joy to watch. Also although this matchup is generally in favor of Marth some of this can be explained away by online and the fact that it’s Leo on the other end. If it isn’t him or Mr. E you’d probably walk away with the dub on this matchup

I think that up smash buff matters a lot more than I originally expected... it's a lot scarier of a move, more like Ganon's up smash in 4 where you can toss it out just to frighten people. And of course, it KOs early as hell.

When you jump above marth and think he might try to upair try to down b bc of the slight halt in momentum it'll be harder for him to tipper and I think it would connect more times than dair. Cuz dair will never beat his upair unless its way earlier but down b might at least trade

Leo was going for a lot of shieldbreaker setups to punish Fatality's aggression. Its a more favorable RPS situation than a normal attack after hitting someone's shield.
Opponent Shield >> Shieldbreak
Opponent Attack >> Tipper for kills
Dodge >> Slightly positive to slightly negative at close range depending when the opponent dodges.
Leo's punish game is second to none Holy shit

Of course, this is just practice, but you displayed in numerous sets your composure and ability to bring sets back, and you came close to winning 7-8. Leo is the champ for a reason, but Fatality has put in WORK. I think he is the most fun to watch. Considering Leo really only mains high tier characters, and the only non sword fighters he has played competitively in the past are Joker and Greninja… its just my shitty opinion, but like. I give more props to Fatality for the commitment to literally being the best CP main, and grinding to play him so good he looks top tier when hes playing. Its for sure an accomplishment
