- Koroghlu (Azerbaijani: Koroğlu; literally, The Blind Man's Son) is an opera in five acts by Uzeyir Hajibeyov. The opera premiered on April 30, 1937, at the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater.
Uzeyir Hajibeyli (September 18, 1885 - November 23, 1948) was an Azerbaijani composer, conductor, publicist, playwright, and social figure. He is recognized as the father of Azerbaijani composed classical music and opera. Uzeyir Hajibeyov composed the music of the national anthem of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (which was re-adopted after Azerbaijan regained its independence from the Soviet Union in 1991). He also composed the anthem used by Azerbaijan during the Soviet period. He was the first composer of an opera in the Islamic world.
Yesss! More Azerbaijani composers please!
Have you got any Azerbaijani composer that you want to see here ?

also thanks for posting Azerbaijani composer :3
Thank you for posting this. Really interesting. There are a few seconds of something I vaguely recognise at about 3:04 but I can't put my finger on what it is.
[I've now remembered. It's a fragment of the tune of "In good Queen Bess's glorious days!" from Gilbert and Sullivan's "Iolanthe". I doubt that Uzeyir Hajibeyli knew it.]
