Hello and welcome to this weird crevasse of the internet where we get really excited about music (particularly Taylor Swift) and break down our favourite albums and songs. Our names are Bonny and Emily, and our aim with these videos is to share our love for music and also share context and understanding around the songs, by highlighting breaking down the lyrics, melodies and production. to assuage emily's feelings about her hair: i was watching this whilst cooking and my mum walked past and immediately said "omg this girl looks like princess diana" which is quite possibly the highest praise you can ever get from a white woman who was in her 20s during the 90s 😌

Not just the white women, lol. As a Ugandan who was 7 when Princess Di passed away, I grew up thinking Princess Diana was a very close friend of the family from the way my mum talked about her. Every mother believed Diana was the paramount woman (and still do). There could literally be no higher praise.

I think that a ton of people don't understand that Jack and Aaron were already Grammy winning artists before working with Taylor. Jack won the 2013 Grammy for Song of the Year for We Are Young as a member of the pop group Fun. Aaron won Best Alternative Music Album in 2018 as a member of The National for Sleep Well Beast. Taylor has very deep musical knowledge and she was obviously well aware of their musical talents before working with them. They are both now treasured members of TSU and contribute magical pieces to each TS musical song puzzle. 13 (!!!) hours til Happy 1989 TV day! Thanks for the video, Bon and Em!
Yes totally!! And we were mainly focusing on how Jack wasn't a producer for other artist's before Taylor, not that we wasn't a successful artist in his own right 🩵
My interpretation of the city/beach difference is that a young woman in the city is riddled with insecurity and a grown woman on the beach is at peace with who she is now and forgives who she was then as that young woman in the City.....

I love Bonny so much because it’s so validating for me to see a swiftie who can articulate her thoughts so well and is so smart and catches onto things so well but is also very much a Cancer girly like me who will cry whenever she talks about something she’s passionate about.
I remember a friend of mine hearing the song ‘lover’ on the radio and going… ‘oh I love it, it’s so different for Taylor Swift’ and I’m there like ‘no this is exactly what Taylor Swift has always sounded like, she’s back to her roots’ so it just shows how many folks only know the pop Taylor.

This Album came out the year my batch was preparing for our thesis. Me and my 2 best friends were in a cramped room burning the night oil trying to make sense of our designs and stressing about our presentations for a month. The power 1989 gave us during those times, i felt like a girl boss (strutting to style) even tho i was beyond stressed, it made work and staying up more bearable and fun, along with coffee and food ofc. This album holds so much memories for me and will never fail to make me feel energized even in stressful moments.
Just re-watched y’all’s 1989 breakdown last night and all I could think was “but now there’s Midnights (and two more TVs!!)” I’m so glad y’all looped back.

So true, I learned that from another one Bonnie & Emily’s video’s where they mentioned Jack was in the band FUN! It might have been a Lana breakdown (not positive) but the point being I learned that from this channel. I learn so much more depth about the songs and music from you ladies. 1989 means so much to me. It was the first CD I ever got. It was my first introduction to Taylor and I have been a swiftie ever since. I think the shake it off discussion is interesting because I loved it so much (but I was 8 at the time so that might explain it). I love this channel so much and I cannot wait for 1989 (Taylor's version) to become my whole personality tomorrow ❤

I love this idea of why we love series and Lover getting its moment again! We need a redo of Lover breakdown like the other albums did, lyric by lyric, which did not happen for your very first video. Maybe you guys can do a channel celebration and redo it because people still haven't fathomed this superior album, and you guys are so good at breaking down lyrics!

I absolutely cannot wait to hear 1989 (Taylor's Version) it is my favorite album of all time in general. I wasn't a fan since the beginning, but I did become a fan around the 1989 era. So it would be an understatement to describe how excited I am about this! Even more, I completely agree about having 'Welcome to New York' as the album opener is so so superior. When I went to New York for the first time, I arrived late at night because my flight was unfortunately delayed. But seeing the city lights at night - was absolutely the right way to see New York. When i got into my uber ride, I was so tired but really excited. and my uber driver was typically playing 'empire state of mind' when I told him it was my first time in New York aha. But then after that song, he played Welcome to New York and he played this right at the moment that we were entering the city, and I could see the lights for the first time, and he even opened the windows for me! It was so surreal.
When you were talking about metaphors in 1989, my Wonderland stan heart was sad from yall not mentioning so I will......WONDERLAND SUPREMACY!!!!💙💙💙
