According to an official press release, ‘The lyrics for ‘Electric Moose‘ actually started out as a poem that Frontman Anthony Green wrote about domestic abuse, and someone trapped in a relationship but trying to hold onto the thought of how it was before things became violent.’
It's funny because... I've been listening to Circa for so long that my life and their work are things that I can't disassociate, they're intertwined. And each new release that deep feeling of "a new page" hits me. I really wasn't expecting this new page, it really hurt, and it's so… magical, so beautiful. Looking forward to what's to come ^^
That makes no sense what so ever. Their music has nothing to do with you. Just enjoy the music and stop trying to find a way to make it about yourself Jesus
@@Donnyshmegma seeing how a piece of artwork relates to an experience in your own life is not making that art all about your life, bozo. Why do you think people share their art?
@@Donnyshmegma Hey maybe take a step back and try to appreciate another person's perspective. Don't tell people how they should feel or weave their way through life. This community isn't about that bullshit. It's easy to associate one thing with another. In this case music with a specific time in your life. I found Circa right around the time I separated from my ex-wife and moved to a new town. I'll always associate On Letting Go with that sense of freedom, discovery, and the place I moved to. I also have similar ties with Violent Waves and Descensus. And others with a ton of different music, foods, sights, smells, and sounds. Most people experience this. You're not a sociopath, are you? Edited to be less hostile and add more explanation.
From tinfoil forests through to fatherhood and beyond in so many different ways Anthony green, circa and saison have left permanent scars on my life and I couldn’t be more grateful for them.
Although I totally respect it, I've never really gotten interpretive dance (if that's even what this is). But knowing what the song is about and having been through an incredibly emotionally abusive marriage, and very recently another brief similar relationship, this really clicked. I got it. Amazing song and beautifully heartbreaking video. The dancers are phenomenal.
I absolutely LOVE this song. Circa survive never makes the same type of album more than once yet it still has all the good qualities of their younger years.
This is a pretty powerful video. Going from basically the fucking to fighting and everything between. I think anyone who has been in any sort of destructive relationship gets it.
@@v.irus666 Right?? Hats off to these women man. Like...idk if they knew each other beforehand, and I get that they're professionals, but man...they REALLY had to get ALL up in each other's space. I just feel like they told an amazing story. Like I said, it start to finish felt like it started out so sexual, turned into one of those MASSIVE fucking soul destroying fights, and then finding comfort in each other...even in each other's bullshit even. I completely feel like the girl taking the other's pointer finger and pushing it down into the other one speaks volumes. And I'm sure I'm putting my own bullshit into it. We all do which is what makes this kind of creativity so amazing. The syncopated portions where they are in unison simulating the physical fight, and man... anyone that's had a relationship with someone who has mental health issues I think understands that breaking point where you love this person with all you have, but if you try and more you're just gonna destroy yourself.
How y’all listen to circa but not have critical thinking skills or are able to interpret their videos?! It’s about domestic abuse in interpretive dance form.
Beautiful fucking video…I literally cried…mad props to the choreography…if this type of expression doesn’t resonate with you, don’t feel the need be negative.
imagine being a conceited scenester in 2022. circa has always played their own game and there are plenty of ripoffs and whatever-core bands out there if you need guitars so bad. still, curious about what shape these new songs will take live
I'm not sure what the point of the video is but my interpretation of it is that sex can be the most addictive thing in a toxic relationship. It's like they'd get it on, fight, get it on again and then fight once more but they keep coming back to the same conclusion. The sex must be worth the abuse to them. Maybe I'm just looking too deeply into it or maybe I'm just straight up wrong but that's the vibe I got from it.
This basically sounds like it belongs on A Dream About Love also. Was expecting this EP to have a much different vibe than that one. Huh, maybe it’s only one song?
The Sound Of Animanls Fighting Radiohead Thrice times. 🤣🤣 I dig it. The people in the comments feeling "uncomfortable" seeing 2 girls together, I truly almost..ALMOST feel sorry for you. What a sad sheltered, opinionated, closed minded, insecure, sad state of concienceness to be in. I'm so glad I didn't end up like that. Calling this "woke"...today's go to catch all BS you don't like phrase. Anything you don't approve of, must be "woke"...well, sorry to tell you this, but girls with girls and guys with guys and bi's etc have all been here since the beginning of us being here. But go ahead and start saying all the shit you see today that's been the way it has been for eons, go ahead and tell yourself it's some new torture plot directed at people like you. So sad to see so many just so openly against other people being happy and living their lives. Makes me wonder what's REALLY going on to make them so uncomfortable. I have a sneaking suspicion we all know what it is. It's what they want, but they're too much of a coward to come out of the closet and face the shrieks of disgust from their expected closed minded circle they keep with. Oh well...live in fear...the rest of us won't.. BTW, I'm a completely straight male with kids etc...just thought I'd share I'm not saying this to stick up for my own life choices. I'm sticking up for the right for everyone to be able to make the choice to be with WHOEVER they want adult wise, without ignorant ridicule. it's as bad as racism.

Yup thing that sucks is he sang it like he can relate to it
He also continued saying its about someone whos abusive and fake…
His (ex?)wife??
I didn't even realize this was Circa lmao I thought this was some new Rise artist named Electric Moose
You’re hilarious 😂
One of Anthony's personal VERY favorites of his.

I don’t think Circa is capable of putting out a bad song. Incredible visual experience to an even better song.
those girls did amazing in this, this whole video with the song just works perfectly.

Giving me Radiohead vibes. So glad CC keep pushing their boundaries
way better then radiohead

Got a big frog in my throat and chills from this, how stunning, and heartbreaking all at once. Absolute masterpiece .
It's like there is some Health and Radiohead in my Circa Survive, and I'm down with that!
Radiohead and Deftones had a baby
Kid A vibes for real and kings of limbs
I think this is the most perfect description I've seen here.
Giving me age of adz vibes
Anthony you're so good, in Circa Survive! Love this álbum
And now I’m crying. Holy shit. What a song, what a video.
Wow 3:12 i feel things, this is gorgeous
Thank you for giving work to dancers!!!!! This is a game changer. I am so proud of you guys. Love it!!!!!

I can't get enough of this.
Everything about this is so powerful; the recognition of abuse, the inclusivity, the emotion!
Incredible video, looking forward to the new EP and drinking a caipirinha while listening to curritiba
Anyone else get a "The OA" vibes from the dancing?
This is the right direction for them. Can't wait to see what's next. Still love it to this day. Great EP.

Song sounds like Circa meets "King of Limbs" era Radiohead. Pretty cool!
Kid A and that album too!
This hits different. Stunning creative work!
Very cool.
Circa Survive is art
Perhaps... but it's definitely not music. lmao :)
Best musicvideo ever only took two dancers
Bruh, this vid, frightened rabbit anyone? God I love that band..
Wait it out ❤
The video ends with the 2 in the exact same position as the beginning. Implying that the abusive cycle will repeat indefinitely.

They have a whole discography of what you’re looking for that you can go back to.
Is this some experimental EP or something? Hard to believe this is Circa. Pretty boring.
