I am from India. We had these 90% income tax rates in 1985 or so. We were told by all international agencies to rationalize. We had 400% duty on things like a cassette taperecorder then. Now highest income tax rate is 30% and peak custom duty on majority items is 15%. Dear Europeans, make better choices. I love Europe.

At this moment, it is crucial for individuals to prioritize investing in alternative streams of income that are not reliant on the government, particularly with the existing worldwide economic crisis. Investing in stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies can still be profitable during this period. Therefore, it is advisable to explore these investment options to secure one's financial future.

First of all, there is ZERO chance that this proposal will ever be voted in. It is not law...it is only a proposal from the far left that was put in place for the elections. Second, the 90% tax proposal is only for incomes over 400K. Third, the only reason that the left "won" is because they cobbled together a last-minute alliance with Macon's centrist party to screw with LePen and the Right and keep them from gaining a complete hold over the country. Most people in the countryside and smaller cities voted for the Right (and only the large cities went Left). Lastly, you gotta be kidding about the quality of life in France. Like anyone is going to move to Poland or Latvia or Hungary in lieu of France...what planet are you on?

Therefore, in almost each province of the country where the left/center won, it was a 45% for the national rally /55% for the alliance of Macron, ecologists, center left, radical left and communists. Each time, the least likely to win candidates of these 5 allied parties stepped back to ensure the last one standing could gather all the votes. The V country you mentioned is not a fair comparision as they are sanctioned, hence their economic data is scewed to reflect the sanctions. New zealand tried a price and wage freeze gosh maybe 40 years ago and if i recall it didn't work. High tax places will cause tax flight, then they get desperate and look for more revenue within and the spiral begins. The government and the failed money management over years is and still is the problem. And when other countries are in trouble they are advised to take austeric measures, what signs of french fiscal pragmatism have we seen?

uhg here we go with the american take on French politics. France's political scene is way more complex than the US's. Plus it's ALWAYS been more "left" in it's politics. Even their equivalent to our republican party isn't the same as ours. Nothing has "fallen" gimme a break. France has it's issues like any other country. At least their political scene isn't the reality tv show type stuff you see in the US. Americans don't even know what's going on in their own country anymore let alone someone else's.
These videos of americans acting like they're experts of French politics is so cringy.

I think the marginal tax rate in US was above 90% between 1944 and 1963 because of all the money spent during WW2. The french are lucky, they no longer need to pay taxes if they move out of the country. But US citizens need to file taxes in US even if they move overseas.

I don’t know why the French are complaining? Don’t you all love your free stuff? Free hospitals, free daycare, free everything, well its not free, it comes from taxes. You all loved this system until it worked in your favor. Either way this 90% taxes won’t hit a large population because no one in France gets paid that much. They don’t even have enough jobs. Majority jobs are just making coffee and pastries for tourists.
