Thanks for that - I lived on saltwell road in the early 90's and I haven't been back to tyne and wear since I've gan yam to New Brunswick, Canada. Was nice to see it again- Hope I get back there someday. Amy Mann is mint! haway the lads
What a wonderful piece of film from my home town. My sister and father still live in Gateshead (Mother passed away in 2009) but I moved to Wakefield in 1986, and sis had her wedding reception at the Springfield Hotel on the Dryden Road junction, which is now knocked down. I take it you are driving a Volvo?
Glad you liked it, I was delivering to the Drainage Center, just past the college opposite where the chip shop used to be before they demolished the estate.
Gateshead was very rough and deprived till late 1970's, since then it has improved dramatically. My dad was manager of the shop currys there in a very deprived part of it and there were regular raids and arsene attacks and at the time it was simmilar to glasgow but now it is generally fine. I live in york but always enjoy a visit down to newcastle.
It starts just after the Angel of the North off the A1 near Low Fell and finishes at The Drainage Center at Saltmeadows Road in Gateshead. Music Aimee Mann and Pigeon Detectives.
Lol, haway man pet, am from yorkshire like burra luv ya axent up there. I'm here in Canada coz England is screwed, and it was an opportunity not to be missed.
Lol It's alright talking posher, you just need to talk slower lol. I bet they would take a welder on here in Alberta, cos it's a shame you're only getting 20 hrs a week. We don't have long term plans, so we will be living in the truck after I pass my test, cos you have to re-do the class one over here. Spent a bit of time up your way when I was back home and loved it, but now it's time to drive Canada/USA.
@Podsnapperymee.............Video Starts off On Durham Road, Gateshead, England. The Angel of the North is about 100 metres directly behind. If you go on google maps and type in address I just mentioned you will be able to go through the Street View and this way you will be able to pan around 360 degrees. (Bet you already done that, sorry I,m a year late with this.)
