- Documentary about VOIVOD at CAMERA 87 TV show. This is the early THRASH METAL period of the band with the original line-up : PIGGY, AWAY, SNAKE and BLACKY. Their manager at the time Maurice Richard is their too. We also a young Marc Vaillancourt (BARF, LES ÉKORCHÉS) talking about his view about VOIVOD.
Also a funny part at the Rock en stock shop with an 80's hair metal dude.

It's fascinating to see underground thrash documented professionally at a time when underground thrash was at its peak. I wish more of this stuff existed.

Its amazing to see a band that also knows that there kind of outsiders. And they were and are on their own terms playing the music that they want. If i think this was band was a explosion live. I sometimes watch that Ritz show and despite the bad quality, you can definetly hear the energy and vibe. Its a band that really blows other extremer acts like Slayer totally away. Coming from die hard Slayer fan!!!
Really wish i had a time machine to go to that Ritz show....

Merci a Piggy per i suoi Riff. Il miglior album dei Voivod per me è Nothingface, lo ascolto spesso. Li ho visti nel 2009 e Piggy nn c'era più. È stata la più bella performance di quel festival insieme a quella degli Heaven and Hell 🤟🤟🤟
Dimension Hatross is possibly the greatest metal albums of all time. it's interesting they talk a lot about their acceptance because they were different, yes they were. see my first sentence.

Heavé mêteul, hehe, un ptit cours d'anglais de base aurait pas nuit à cette journaliste mais bon, déjà une télé généraliste grand public qui s'intéresse au métal en 1987 est un petit miracle en soi, faut s'attendre à un vocabulaire et des préjugés d'époque......

The thing about Voivod that people don´t understand, especially the early albums is that they were always basically space hippies. They just chose to engrave their peace sign on the head of a hammer and smash your face in with it :D
