I was floored at how great an actor he is when I saw this in the theater. I’d always found him a bit annoying and one dimensional throughout his career.
He was beyond brilliant in this film and that Oscar was well deserved.

This scene made me dizzy and overheated when I watched it in the theatre and made me ask myself "Why did I decide to watch this film?". It's not because it's a bad scene, but because I'm often getting so uncomfortable when watching scenes that are related to hospitals or talk about symptoms to deadly illnesses.
On the bright side, it just shows that the actors connect with the audience, so that's good

I'd recommend to watch movies like this at home instead of in the theater, that way you can pause and take a breath.

    Bestow my heart #MatthewMcConaughey
The awards should be yours for years to come, you touched on the essence of the struggle within the person. We all have our death date and time and day, just as we had our birth date and time and day. This is all that is certain.
Once we make peace with that do we begin to truly LIVE no matter the illness or obstacle or circumstance.
    Make Peace.
God bless you and God bless everyone

I bought this movie for $3 and had it over a year before I watched it. I put it in for background noise when I was cleaning. 20 minutes later I was on the couch with a dust cloth in my hand and i didn't take my eyes off the screen for the next hour and 40 minutes. 😮 5Stars

Everyone saying this is the most amazing body transformation for a role, forgets that Squidward Tentacles gained hundreds upon hundreds of pounds for his role in Spongebob - and then lost it all for the next episode. Most impressive of all is that he gained all the weight in his thighs, which he had to have surgically implanted because squid do not possess thighs.
THAT, my friends, is dedication to your craft 💯💯💯
