I love Charles Dance constantly insulting his boss. It's my favorite running gag in the film.

The Last Action Hero is a clever deconstruction of the typical Arnold 80s action popcorn flick that made Schwarzenegger's career. At times
it openly mocks these cherished movie tropes in a way that can be off putting to the audience. As someone that was raised on Arnold movies
and still enjoys them to this day, I absolutely love this movie. I can laugh at a lot of the ridiculous stereotypes of the hero that never
gets hurt no matter what, the gun that never runs out of ammo, the villain that goes into a long winded monologue giving the hero time to
escape, etc. It's fun. Arnold is great in this film. Charles Dance is an excellent villain and he delivers some hard hitting dialogue.
Benedict traveling to the real world and realizing the difference between the two is a decision that the writers made and it took
a lot of guts. "In this world, the bad guys can win." That's an incredibly dark scene to put into what was marketed as a kid's movie
but I'm glad they did it. As always thanks for watching!
