      If you liked leatherwood you need to check out the new dh system that just opened. Waaaaay bigger and gnarlier. Its in ponca arkansas. Its w the buffalo outdoor center and they shuttle. Its 1200 ft elevation change w 10 miles of total dh trails.

    Local here! I love meeting people on the trails and showing them around. Everyone is very welcoming and will gladly show you around if you just ask. Another great trail that has had some recent updates is the all American trail, it runs through slaughter pen and starts at the square and will basically take you to every key place.

    Just started trail riding few months ago. Bentonville kept popping up in my searches.. So I'm 6 hours away from there.. Planning my first trip out there in 3 weeks. Super excited and hopefully the trails are still solid since it'll be mid November.

      I've heard from several of the locals that October/November is the best time of year to go; cooler temps and lower humidity. The spring and summer are pretty brutal. I hope you have a blast!!

    I live in fayetteville and have a two downhill trails that are 6 mins away. Also next time, check out the Jones center in springdale. They have a skill course with 3 trails ranging from green to black diamond and they also a full asphalt pump track

    • @lonestarmtb6799

      I went to the Jones Center on my previous trip. That place was great! We should be getting a Velosolutions pump track very soon as well! We lost quite a bit of trail riding time with the rains we got so we weren't able to hit all the areas we had planned. Next time! Thanks for the tips!

    Great video! It’s awesome that you cover several areas to ride. Heading from MN to Bentonville next week. Will get in 2 1/2 days of riding. Would you suggest riding in the same order as you do in this vid or are there changes that you’d make? Thanks!

    • @lonestarmtb6799
      @lonestarmtb6799  4 года назад

      Thank you! If Coler is on your list, I would try to ride it early in the trip while you have fresh legs. Your legs will thank you and you'll likely enjoy yourself more. The repeated climbs up to the runs can be pretty taxing. Everything else, (Slaughter Pen) is flowy trail with some climbs mixed in but nothing too serious. I believe Lake Leatherwood only offers the shuttle service on Saturday & Sunday. If you have any other questions, let me know! I hope you have a blast!!

    If you had to choose between 150mm and 170mm travel on your fork, which would you choose for riding in Bentonville?

    • @lonestarmtb6799
      @lonestarmtb6799  4 года назад +1

      Probably the 150mm. There are some larger features (The Bone Yard for example) but, most of the Slaughter Pen trails are flowy with a fair amount of climbing mixed in. Without knowing any other bike details, the 170mm would likely be overkill as (typically) larger travel bikes don't climb/pedal as well as a shorter travel bike would. Thanks for the question, I hope that helps!

    Hey Patrick, great info and tips! We’re planning a trip in a few weeks. We’ve came across some good Airbnb’s, but wanted your opinions on good recommendations we can stay? Didn’t know if you had some good ones you can refer based on stays. I’ll even mention you as a referral and see if they can give you a discount on your next stay? Haha.. Thanks Patrick!

      Hey! During my last trip we used AirBnB and stayed at Higden Haven. It's right off the Slaughter Pen Trail system, about 10 mins from Coler, and very centrally located. That AirBnB was great and I'd definitely stay there again. No matter where you stay though, you're going to have a BLAST!! Have fun and safe travels!

    Dude, sweet.
    Questions...is the shuttle available during the week?
    Is the other place/playground open during the week?
    Thanks

    • @lonestarmtb6799
      @lonestarmtb6799  4 года назад

      Last time I checked, the shuttle was only open on the weekends. However, they do allow you to shuttle yourself any day of the week. Everything else is typically open 7 days a week. The Rail Yard is weather dependent.

    Should I go to Spider Mountain...or Bentonville area? They are roughly the same distance.

    • @lonestarmtb6799
      @lonestarmtb6799  4 года назад +1

      At $50 for a lift ticket Spider is totally worth it for the day. Next door to Spider (5 minute drive) is also Reveille Peak Ranch. It's only $10 for entry and has some fantastic tech, flow, and jump lines. As fun and awesome as Spider Mountain is, Bentonville will offer endless days of riding and tons of variety for free. If you've never been to Bentonville, that's where I'd go.
