If money is your main motivation and you are not putting passion you are going to get burned out. The best way to enter this field is to enter for fun, as a hobby, with no expectations just for curiosity, there is no leader boards nor pressure on public programs. Learn by doing and repeat the process again and again, till one day you get it.

Apparently socialise with hackers already going to these events and ask for a +1 invite. You will have to pay for travel and accommodation yourself though.
A +1 doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get an invite. I’d say hacking and finding good vulnerabilities on the repeat customers is probably a better route.
