- Hello everyone and welcome back :). Today we will be testing out the Formula One car of 2017, which is the 2017 Renault R.S.17. The hybrid F1 car that produces 1100 horsepower, it will be the benchmark of this video because we will bring the fastest hypercars that Forza 7 offers to line up and attempt to beat it on the 1 Mile, so who can beat it? Lets find out!

An application specific race car, with millions upon millions in R&D alone and 70+ years to test and master the design with which to go fastest around a track...vs hyper cars that were designed and manufactured for street legal consumer use in a few years. Imagine that lol.
@@tyler1988 i think you'll find that millions upon millions is spend on R&D for the road cars too... probably even moreso as they are a "mass" produced luxury commercial product. (Not the same scale of mass production as a toyota prius though)
My point being that top speed is secondary to handling and acceleration.

This video just shows how much of a dominator the f1 car is against supercars, and it managed to do all of that in a turbocharged v6, with too much downforce for a drag race
Don't forget that it is a 1.6L V6

I have done a 5-way drag race that featured the Regera and the F1 and a rolling race has been done in it like 2 years ago.

the Koenigsegg only beat the F1 car because it had a terrible launch. most times for the f1 car have been around the upper 19 seconds, lower 20 secs, but in some ones it had a bad launch, causing its time to even reach as high as low 21 secs. even with that, it only beat the F1 car with 1000th of a second. had the launch been perfect, there still would have been atleast 0.3 seconds gap
I didn't except that Mustang Hoonicorn always taking the lead(also it's first gear is as long as the Top speed of my 650cc scooter XD), that thing is insane, but I forgot how much HP and how much it weights ;/

These car sounds are 100x better than FH4
The fun fact about this video is that top speed/acceleration isn't even the F1 car's main strength. What makes it unbeatable around a racetrack is its huge downforce, which even slows it down in this test.
Yeah with that downforce being fast on the corners.. they have turbocharged v6 so that makes a difference too even tho having biger bore and shorter strokes..
Imagine with no downforce, in v10 car BAR hit 400 kmh 250 mph and if v6 car had no downforce it would be really fpreally fast
@@dbabu51 What I don't like about this game is that, the real speed of this car is 360kph, but it doesn't even come to that in this game, considering that it's a game so we could explore more final speed in this game.car but we couldn't. in real life its speed is relative, because in a vacuum and with the DRS open they go up to above 370kph if there is a very long straight

The engines sound has so much to improve in games yet.
It depends on many things.
1) Recording devices quality.
2) Losing data through transmission.
3) Sound output device and its capabilities.
4) The software that the is used to translate the data to sound
Etc...
This game is not the best in terms of vehicle sounds, there are others that are better, in my experience, the Gran Turismo Sport is more loyal to the real life sound of the cars
Hopefully in the years to come things will inevitably get better like a domino effect. Just think what people thought was fantastic 20-30 years ago is obsolete today or obviously nowhere near as advanced as todays technology. Imagine what we'll see in another 20-30 years.

So... in short: You need a car that has over 1100 HP, and a Power to Weight ratio of 1:1 or greater to beat the Renault RS17.
In a straight line... if there were any turns at all the F1 car would've smoked them all.

I being a koenigsegg fan boy... Love how they performed. If maybe on the future ones you could show the results from fastest to slowest....that would nice. Great gameplay and visuals👏👏
Would have been great to get at least one run from F1 perspective to see what actually happened... from a standing start up to 300 kph, it's mostly about power-to-weight ratio and getting the power down, then it's just a race for top speed and aerodynamics when the F1 car hits a wall after half of the track and some of the hypercars can go 50 kph faster for the last bit of the race.
Without watching I knew the Plymouth and hoonicorn trouble.
Would have liked to have seen the F1 car geared for the mile, instead of having it buzz the limiter at 3/4 length.
This goes to prove that family always wins. Why? Because family!

F1 cars have a lot better power to weight ratio, these cars just have higher top speeds, than F1 cars.
The aerodynamic drag and gearing are what limit the F1 car here.
F1 cars are built for cornering and will obliterate any vehicle on a track. Straight line not so much.
The one to one isn't one to one once there's a driver. It's just marketing. Still fast though

FACT from 2014 ''auto express'' show: the 2012 Mercedes F1 car covered 1800 meters in 20.2 s at 194 mp/h (312 kp/h) with rain tires. There is a video in youtube. One mile is 1600 meters, and since 312 kp/h is 87 meters/second, the F1 would finish the 1 mile course in an estimated 18.0 or lower.
Well this game is actually very realistic. F1 cars do fair badly in drag races cause they have to put down all that power on just the rear wheels. They are the fastest thing on the planet around a track though, and this thing was a measly old Renault to boot!

@peter pan Since we are in a conversation about ignorance, you just said it yourself. Drag becomes a problem at very high speeds, depending on the drag coefficient of every car it's usually above 250-300 kph. In other words in a usuall quarter mile race, the drag on an F1 car wouldn't even matter. Or don't you know that engineers can reduce or increase the amount of downforce an F1 car produces? Even with minimal wing the F1 car would still not be the best at 0- 120 kph, after that it would catch up a bit, but it would be over in a quarter mile race by then. Go check the video on Driver69 that goes into detail on this or carwow. Anything that has similar power to weight ratio as an F1 car but also has ways of delivering that on the tarmac on launch, either through bigger tyres, 4-wheel drive, clever launch controls etc will destroy an F1 car in a drag race.

Hoonigan Ford 0-200 in game around 3,5s vs. for compare 3,8s with 2200HP !!! Huracan Alpha Omega (drag radials + drag strip)
F1 even back in 2017 goes 0-200 in around 4,5s (Bottas 4,6s at Austrian GP) and topped at 350-360km/h EASY ! (this Renault 350+ at Monza, Vettel @ 362kmh Mexican GP).
Can archive both in same car cos F1 teams cant change gear ratios in season, only final drive ratio...
2017 F1 car with low downforce setup and right gearing at 1 mile = no chance for hypercars.

Would be interesting to see how it would do, taking into account that the fuel would run out more or less a third of the way in.
I still think that f1 engineering is really impressive because of how much power they can fit in an engine with barely any displacement and having that much downforce to still beat most of them in a straight line for 1 mile
And F1 cars are built for cornering not for 1 mile tracks. F1 would destroy every other car if there would be only a tiny chicane at the end

F1 in the 80s was really wild; a dinky 1.5 liter, 4-cylinder engine with some turbo and rocket fuel made 1500HP
and fuel economy in f1 is mind blowing.

This is far from reality. The F1 car is unbeatable in the HALF mile in real life. But in a full mile drag race, the Bugatti Chiron and Veyron, the Koeneigsegg Agera and One:1 , the Regera, and many others would beat the F1 car. Of course all of this is meaningless in a track like the Nurburgring where the F1 car is entire minutes faster than all of these.

A mustang was the fastest out of the bunch. Faster than a f1 car and faster than and a bunch of multi-million dollar hypercars.
