Honestly John was like the rest of us, a person travelling thru life many times troubled, but like Elvis I hear John reaching out to Jesus for hope, it's just John put his/our story into song.
He had an" illegal smile "on his face most of the time. Its difficult to see him as anything but a non-judgmentall, good humored observer of life. He certainly had, and was, a gift.
He achieved this songs purpose. Soon as it started I got flooded with an ex I loved for 8 years. Ended cause of a death in the family. Was brutal. But I still love her so much but know that’s over for good. So as much as it hurts, I guess I wish you the best. I do want you to have love and happiness. But also wanted it with us
To be optimistic you have to have humility, to know you will get there just not necessarily in the current mind, to know you will be wrong many more times then you’ll be right. And may God help us for when we are wrong to have humility, and turn back to his grace.
I’m not a man that puts faith in god, just don’t believe, that’s all. But your word have a thread running through them, that I recognize as grace. That is something you have and you’ve shared here. Thank you
I think id recognize John's acoustic anywhere. Almost as iconic as Willie Nelson's "trigger". Prine was the reason i was determined to learn Travis Picking.
John's been in my soul since 1973 saw him in concert 4 times. What a precious gift.
Thanks John. Gold. Been listening to and playing Mr Prine since I was 16...I am 69 this year.
Just a beautiful person who gets it.
❤
Simple words to describe a gift to the world. Thank you
Absolutely ❤
How much more real can he get. Breaks me and heals me at the same time.
Will always miss your wonderful songs and You.
“… you change your mind for something else to do and your heart gets bored with your mind and it changes you.”
Pure wisdom and genius.
I have that quote tattooed.
Great interview and song. I play Prine songs more than any other. Thank you for sharing.

I need John Prines words, to help me see enough in the world, to just hang on and keep it as real as I can.

Psychiatrist's should be ashamed of what this man has done for the therapy of mankind.
Nope, just grateful like all of us who love him.
@@m.c.master4622Your words carry the essence of your message gracefully.
I like how he picks ,not strums, his guitar.
Miss you John 💔
