      Totalmente d'accordo! Infatti il suo repertorio "privato" era immenso.

      @@PK-re3lu He's only played 10 sonatas or so in his whole life. The London 1984 live recording is quite sloppy. 1955 and 1960 are way better. As much as I love Gilels, I don't think he can compete with Horowitz, Pletnev, Michelangeli, Pogorelich in Scarlatti. I'd rank him the same as Haskil or Zacharias: really good, but with some minor flaws.
      The few (3 each?) sonatas we have from Lipatti and Gould on the contrary are top notch.

    These sonatas are a treat to hear. Michelangeli could take the piano to expressive heights with relatively unassuming means: impeccable touch, impeccable taste, the "art of refined phrasing" as chad414 put it. For every sonata, the listener to experiences every emotion within the carefully organized framework that he creates. This is perhaps stating the obvious that many pianists know to do, but his playing here is still an ideal example of this "obvious" way of playing. I don't know why I thought people wrote Michelangeli off as a "cold," clinical pianist when clearly there are many who appreciate his art!

    Quali i possibili confronti?

    I enjoy *this* performance of Michelangeli playing Scarlatti's K27 sonata than another one of his on RUclips. Some very good voicing here. However, I think that the louder utterances sound a bit aggressive here (possibly because of the relatively fast tempo).But some expressive playing :-) Oh, I do NOT like that B minor chord he added and played at the end at all; I think Scarlatti intended the piece to end quietly. I think this is evidence that the performer is treating this as a rather virtuosic work. A pity, as I do like his other Scarlatti playing that I've heard.

    His clarity and precision is second to none. However I find that indefinable magic that Horowitz brought to mini masterpieces somewhat lacking.

      Actually it's quite astute ... Horowitz's Scarlatti is indeed uniquely magical.

      Well, that's the problem: it's "Horowitz" magic. And therefore it has its place and one does not look for it to be replicated.

  • @camitful
    @camitful 9 лет назад +1

    A differenza del cembalo , il pianoforte permette , mediante il pedale , alcune licenze esecutive impossibile al cembalo e gli abbellimenti che sul cembalo si eseguono facilmente ,sul pianoforte invece risultano un pò difficoltosi a causa dei martelletti che non hanno la velocità di esecuzione dei saltarelli del cembalo. Oggi sarebbe interessante un confronto tra le esecuzioni del maestro e le nuove giovani pianiste/i che già eseguono concerti in ogni parte del globo.

    • @camitful
      @camitful 8 лет назад

      Confronto già eseguito dal quale talvolta risulta vincente la sua musicalità esecutiva(di Michelangeli). E mi viene da dire : no Michelangeli eseguiva in modo migliore qualche passaggio che deve essere interpretato non eseguito meccanicamente.

    • @camitful
      @camitful 8 лет назад

      No io non riduco tutto a immagine , tendo a qualificare chi esegue meglio di altri dagli esecutori meccanici della musica qualificabile come musica e non come contorno musicale, accompagnamento, sottofondo; chi pretende un'esecuzione di qualità non confonde il bla bla bla con un'interpretazione personale o seguendo le regole del fraseggio.

    Comunque il confronto Michelangeli l'ha già avuto con i pianisti suoi contemporanei : Richter Rubinstein Kempf ed altri di questo calibro che talvolta eseguivano anche in diretta radio o TV i loro concerti. Comunque Michelangeli ebbe occasione di essere ascoltato da 20.000 persone nel concerto in Vaticano nella sala Nervi ( mi raccontò la collega di inglese che lo ascoltò dal vivo andando ad ascoltare il concerto).

    NO estoy de acuerdo con Romain Merrien. No tiene sentido decir que alguien es el mejor artista en ningun campo del arte. Quien fue ,mejor? Rafael Leonardo Miguel Angel o Botticelli. Por supuesto que hay grandes artistas y otros que no lo son. Pero hasta ahi. Lo mismo con los compositores, los pianistas o lo que sea.

    I am a Benedetti's admirer, but I also disagree with the final chord he arbitrarily adds (and plays like "forte subito" in spite of the fine, subtle character of this delicate piece!) at the end of the last sonata, K.27.
    What a pity! That final chord does not appear in any of the Scarlatti's editions I know, including the Henle's one. I find that such a spurious addition is absolutely inappropriate for Scarlatti´s style, it's just a capricious gesture, even in bad taste - really surprising when it comes from such an elegant pianist.
    By the way, I prefer the quite slower tempo of Emil Gilel's interpretation of this sonata (even if the tempo prescribed by the composer is Allegro).

    • @federicosavio
      @federicosavio Год назад

      Me too, I absolutely prefer the Gilels interpretation of this magnificent Sonata. It is extremely expressive, it put it in another dimension.
