  • Read along to practice your English and to learn the English phrases TO BUGGER OFF and TO DO BUGGER ALL
In this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English phrase to bugger off. Now, this is definitely an informal phrase. You wouldn't use this in a formal situation, but when you say someone is going to bugger off, it means that they are going to leave, and it usually means that you probably didn't want them to leave. A good example would be this. If I had a car accident, if someone hit me, I wouldn't want the other guy to bugger off. I would want that person to stay until the police come. And this does sometimes happen. Sometimes people have a car accident and the person who hit them will bugger off. They'll just drive away. And if the police do catch them, they'll get in lots of trouble. I think having a dash cam is a good way to catch people on camera after a car accident before they bugger off.

The other phrase I wanted to help you learn today is the phrase to do bugger all. So if someone does bugger all, it means they haven't really done anything. And again, this is a very informal phrase, but if I came home from work, let's say I'm working on a project with another teacher and we are supposed to be doing it together and I do all the work, I might come home to Jen and say, oh, today, Joe didn't do bugger all on the project. He just sat around and talked while I did all the work. So when you do bugger all, it simply means that you aren't doing anything when you're supposed to be doing some work.
So to review, to bugger off means to leave. And the accident example is probably the best one. If I was to get in an accident, I wouldn't bugger off, and I wouldn't want the other person to bugger off either. And to do bugger all simply is a very crude way, a very informal way to say someone is doing nothing. Jen would get really mad at me in the summer if she was working hard and I didn't do bugger all. She would be like, get to work. We got to sell these flowers.
But, hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Gabriella. I hope I'm remembering that right. Hello, Bob. This way of teaching by telling your life story is simply fantastic. Thank you. And then a big wave. And my response. You're welcome, Gabriella. So thank you for that comment.
Yeah, I do enjoy talking about myself and I'm glad that you all enjoy listening to me. So, first of all, I wanted to mention something about, again, my life. Can you hear the wind chimes? I don't see them, but there's definitely wind chimes here.
Anyways, the other day, I was bringing my son to a friend's house. That friend lives way down this road. You can see my van there. But that was the other day, and I noticed on this side of the road that there was all kinds of new houses that I had never seen before. So I feel like this subdivision just showed up. I swear. First of all, I don't think I've been down this road for two or three years, and I think that the last time I drove down this road, I don't think these houses existed. I think they were all built probably during the pandemic or maybe a year after it, but they looked really new, and I wanted to show you.
This is what we call a duplex. So one house is on this side, and one house is on the other side. So this garage door belongs to one person. This garage door belongs to another person. And they aren't attached between. So it's one building right here, but there are two houses in this building. So there's a wall down the middle separating the two houses. And you would either live on one side or the other side of the duplex. We sometimes, I think, also call it a semi, but in my mind, this would be called a duplex.
So typical small Canadian homes. These are probably single family dwellings for people that have one or two kids. I'm not sure these houses would be big enough if you had a family of five. If you had five kids. Or they might simply be for people who are empty nesters. An empty nester is someone whose kids have all moved out, so they would probably be the right size for that.
Anyways, thanks for watching. I'll give you a look at the Canadian post office boxes here. This is where you would get your mail, and then I'll say, bye. Thanks for watching. See you in a couple of days with another short English lesson. Bye.

Hi, Bob. So to “do bugger all” means that I’m not doing anything when I should be doing. But you said a negative sentence, you said “Jen would get really mad ar me … if she was working hard and I DIDN’T do bugger all”. I thought you should say “… and I DID do bugger all”, 😁

It burns me up when someone else's vieccle crashed other people's vieccle then they bugger off they in charge of others you know, if they do so they need to bring us to the hospital or else they would be in a hot water, cautions mr. Bob don't let your guard down, keep up your guard up on the street when you drive your cars and to prevent any unwanted accident you should swerve or hitting the brake so that you could save yourself from it, stay safe wherever you are safety first would be the major thing, don't forget to abide by the rules of traffic lights so we won't get a speeding ticket LOL.😂
    Note:
Look bothways also needed when we accrossing the street, just relax while taking a stroll, those are the ecential tips to note.
By the way bugger all it's british phrase right? Your neibour americans never use the phrase i guess, for example you buy an equepmehts but those equepments end up bugger all.😂
    Edit:
You love sharig about your life and i love sharing with you about Pokèmon stories in the comment, please have a look on the video about back off and i'm off, in the video you also mention the words grounded and curfew, in the comment i told people about..........
Please read the comment there to figure out.😊
I'm gonna tell a story about myself as well:
My mama and i sometimes facing winding road of life where i feel that my life just go around the circle, and the other day i was grumpling about the past, i felt i felt that i'm getting nowwhere instead of getting somewhere, i'm not use to with the life without roaming around anywhere. Not like it used to be where my late Papa and two of us travel around town or even went to Bali and stayed overnight in the Hotel.
My life without him it's way different now, i can't go anywhere without making others hassel cus they need to carry and drive me on my wheel chair to get some fresh air. I won't never know which people are giving me a hand sincerly which one are not, my dream is to travel and explore the world someday. As you said, great things come to those who wait. But till when? Full of expectation is not enough, i should put effort right?
    Little bit about Ash Ketchump:
Ash's dream was to became a pokèmon master and winning the pokèmon battle League and became a champion, long story short he beaten up by each Pokèmon trainers on the League on each seasons however he ended up lost over and over, he got ahead of himself, and too much expectation. Eventually, on the last season he won the pokémon battle League it was a magical moment in the Galar League, he beat up 7 Pokèmon trainers with:
Z moves Giantamax band and mega evolution device that he use to beat up Leon's Pokèmon there.
Lesson i got from watching the Pokèmon anime with his story in English dubbed was we shouldn't have too much expectation on winning on any Leagues in real world. Instead, we should use our strategies and strategies in any competions don't just saying i'm gonna win but prove it, don't be like him who told himself he would be the winner but they ended up lost. But won in the end though, he tougest than me mr. Bob, he getting back his feet and he was so reselient protagonist in the story, i don't think i be able to be as strong as him when somebody deafeat me in a League.
He never surrender on achiving his dream, he inspired me to strive myself, but observing him as a Pokèmon trainer that being defeated constantly made me feeling blue while watching.😢
What's your take on it guys? Have you ever watched the Pokèmon that involve Ash's story guys? If so, tell me. If not, why?😊

These post office boxes look a little (🤏) fancier than your nostalgic post office box across the street from your farm, Bob 😘. But I guess that also has to do with the fact that, as you said, these houses were built relatively recently. Even though I know it was just an example. I don't think Jen could get that mad at you. Because she is just a very nice person, just like you, and you are not the type of person who does or would do something like that 💛. But I think you once mentioned something similar, if I'm not mistaken, that she might get mad at you if you started slowing down or daydreaming while loading your van with the flowers for the market 😅.
