SPOILER ALERT! Since they've obviously changed a lot of the story as compared to the books, I wish he could just work hard for her in the upcoming seasons. He's basically hurt her feelings more times in this series than the book. Obviously, she already has a crush on him now, but since the story's changed a bit, i hope the writers will let him fall in love with her first. Let him work hard for her coz at this point, she deserves so much better. He's never even felt jealousy at all in the book. Give her a suitor who'd appreciate her for who she is, then probably that would stir him up a bit. It took almost 10 years from this timeline until they were able to get together based on the book. Here, they constantly write each other and she's like one of the constants in his life. Maybe the writers can make her stop doing that so he could realize how his life is incomplete without her.
The writers I think have huge plans for this couple coz in the book, they got together fast. So I really have high hopes for this couple coz they focused on that scene when colin told the guys he will never court her. It was not how it happened in the book. This is more painful coz pen was never able to defend her honor and the convo was with other guys who were obviously mocking her. That was so painful to watch. In the book, he said it to his brothers coz his mother was egging him to get married. But this scenario is really different. Just to emphasize what i said in my earlier post, i wish for pen to shelf her "crush" with colin, stop writing letters to him, and treat him just as a friend or just ignore him. Then make her say to his face that the moment he humiliated her in front of those boys by saying he will never court her, was the moment she lost all his love for him as well. Give her a suitor who will make him jealous beyond imagination. Someone who'd appreciate her for who she is, and who will make colin feel that he's lost the only person who has ever appreciated him so that he'll fight for her and beg her to be the same pen she's been to him for the past many years. Don't get me wrong. I really want them to be endgame. I just want him to suffer first. Hahahaha!

We already know Colin & Pen are endgame, but he is still her first love. Kinda reminds me of the situation with Queen Charlotte's nephew, Prince Frederic who although genuinely interested in courting Daphne, suffered collateral damage Simon realized he actually loved Daphne. Their plan had worked but Simon didnt expect to catch feelings. That said, I want Shondaland make Colin beg & grovel to get Pen back. When that happens, I hope she is kind to him, not cruel when she is vindicated. Yes, give her a suitor that would drive Colin crazy, but I want to see major but systematic, character development for Penelope. For her to discover her value as a person, than be dependent on the perception of her value from someone else's eyes. I want her to have that conviction that she is a whole valuable person worthy of love, without waiting on Colin's approval. I hope the suitor comes to truly value her as a dear friend and releases her willingly when he realizes she loves Colin. I hope she is able to be honest with herself & with him. I hope it is shown that the suitor finds his own happiness. I cant deny though, that Colin has, for the most part, been sweet to her, despite being clueless & naivé. I believe when he earns her trust again, he would be a doting husband especially considering his parents' & example, and it always seemed that he also pervently desires a love match.
@@kmaikeegarsona7689 You don't need a love triangle to make him suffer.... Also if Pen starts standing out on her own without his help it deflates the emotional crescendo of the novel. The novel culminates in Pen getting a standing ovation from the Ton after Colin shines a light on his new bride and, due to circumstances, informs everyone that she is the brilliant Mrs Whistledown. For once Pen is at the center of attention and she likes it because she can feel Colin's utter love and devotion and the clapping and cheering helps. The entire point of the Colin-Pen relationship is that with time he is the one and only male to actually see how amazing she is. If Netflix, decides to go with a love triangle to make Colin jealous it takes away from everything Colin does to make Pen feel loved, cherished, and accepted. Though, I guess Netflix might do it that way as I doubt they will go for a time skip and actually given Colin and Pen the maturity boost they need to pull off the scenes from the book.
@@kmaikeegarsona7689 What I wish the most is Penelope truly living to her dream of being "brave and witty". That she will stand strong on her own - even in a shy and more introverted way. But she's going to build it on her own. They have interesting story together - how love grows naturally, over the years and conversations. She always loved him but in the book she was also aware to a fact he's not gonna marry her. She just loved him. He was later on surprised by his growth of feelings for her, he started questioning society and himself, he started to think about what love truly is. He was charmer and subconsciously liked the good attention but he always wanted to be more, too. They were really cute with their passion for writing (him about travels, her - well, puns and witty talk) and that was really bonding for them. Show can play with that. But for their love - I want HER to realise her worth, then HIM really understanding how HE was blessed to be loved by such loyal, lovely, smart and INDEPENDENT woman who even if shy to others, was really open to him in some ways. They could center how special it is to know someone so well because you've been friends whole life. Another thing is that Violet was also a wallflower. I've read a comment that Colin might be the one who reminds Edmund the most with his charm. So Penelope and Colin story and its development be very nice to see. Colin is romantic at heart and show was hinting that, too. There are small ways of looking at them and why they match. Penelope wanted to escape her reality in society - nobody noticed her potential and she was invisible to them, even if she had all that witty things in her head but just too shy to express herself Colin wanted to escape his reality in society - everybody noticed him but for his name, not for who he was. He didn't mind attention yet he wanted to be seen for something more than his appearance or being Bridgerton They both want more, they look for more, they're both dreamers and romantics. In books it's after 10 years they get together. They should show how they grow and how they softly show their love for each other. Especially him for her. Aaaaand I wish he was smarter than to realise that she's the one when another suitor appears. It would be too easy. I really wonder how show plays with Polin relationship. That's why I also prefer for them to have season 4. They need time to grow.
I do want Collin and Penelope to be end game but I'm not sure if they are ready. Collin has started to see Penelope, who she truly is but has not seen the entire picture. He takes her for granted. Next season due to Eloise and Pen's fight Collin will not see much of Pen and will miss her. I hope the writers let Penelope bloom this next season. Become more confident in herself out in society and make Collin take her seriously and not just as a constant. Maybe due to Penelope's new confidence a suitor comes along shaking Collin's world up. Also I hope Eloise and Pen can make up. Their friendship has been meaningful and I hope it stays that way.
I remember that in the books, Penelope begins to dress in more becoming colors and styles once her mother decides she will be a spinster. Ah, the irony 😂
Now she has written to him and obviously with lady Whistledown I wonder if he will tweak that she’s lady Whistledown because obviously writing styles would be similar. But he seems like he’s kind of more observant this time round I mean that looks he gives her and the tilt of the head when he is talking to her it’s more noticeable in this season just to show he’s given her full attention and yes I think there will be an interesting climax with their story and I do hope they get together because they are one of my favourite couples but in the book he does particularly his book he does come across as a little bit whiny. But it will be interesting to see his reaction to the reveal and also I would say some of the family as well the Bridgerton is on the favour Intenso win this series comes to an end I wonder what the reaction is will be because this was not dealt with in the books and I wish I could rewrite the story in a way because you do have elements of what happens another books but it be great to see
I just want her at one point in her life not to look at Collin in a way that makes everybody knows that she loves him. I want her at one point be done with any lingering feeling she has for him. I want her at one point in her life to just move on. Not necessarily to a new guy,, but to a new adventurous dangerous exiting life.
We all know they marry. He doesn't see what is right before his eyes. I can't wait until Penelope gets her love story. I think this one will be one of the best seasons and stories of all. Really, I am loving the Lukes. (Colin and Benedict)
They are the focus for Season 3, so they are changing it up a bit. But they still appear a bit child like, so hopefully, in the next few months, they can somehow act and look more like adults (and not like kids playing dress up).
The point is really that in 1814 ( storyline of Series 2 ,) Penelope was 18 as was Eliose, and Colin only about 20 . So by the time Romancing Mr Bridgerton ( Pen & Colin story) is set in 1824 10yrs later so both are maturing adults

She does but I think that’s what they want to show. She deserves better then him and he’s immature. She’s going to realize she deserves better and they’ll develop him to be better. They both grow up and come into their own which will bring them together and really see each other.

I predict that in Season 3 after hearing Colin's commentary to his friends, Penelope will stand her ground as she did in the book regarding that scenario. She will take on a more firm/confident attitude towards herself just as Lady whistledown is and will finally use her voice to advocate for herself. Throughout season 2, we saw Penelope be that constant for Colin and he even admitted to realizing it, but after his comment, I think she wont be his constant any longer. This I believe will spark in him that curiosity, jealousy and frustration as to why she has grown so indifferent to her once attentive demeanor and if someone else now occupies his place in her heart. This can be where the book portion comes in to where he starts noticing her, wanting to always be with her and even the scene where he follows her to the church! Colin needs to get a taste of his medicine! If he knows Pen has always felt something for him and he did and said all those things to her, then he at the hands of Penelope needs to know what it feels like to be the wallflower in someones life. It would be nice to have a genuine suitor for Pen, but then it would suck that she cut off that pursuit to go to Colin once he wants her. I really hope they do Penelope justice! She is so kind, loving and understanding throughout the seasons so far, and she deserves to be noticed for who she is!
I expect the writers, from what the actors and show creators have said about the season, it’s going to another level on top of the grandeur that was Season 2. I don’t usually have high expectations but this is a season I expect them to do really well on. Penelope isn’t really a perfect peach either, so my hope is they acknowledge that as well. Still I can agree with your worries
guys, as much as I love colin and penelope both. I hope the next season, Penelope rejects him so that he gets off his high horse. He's to confident that she will always wait for him, and he should respect her more.
I love Penelope, she deserves to be loved unconditionally. I did not like what Colin said about her in season 2 or maybe he is in denial of his feelings for her.
I adore Pen and I can’t wait for her turn. She may not be thin, but I think she gorgeous and just a beautiful person. And honestly, when her and Colin do get their shot, I hope she does make him work for it. I don’t appreciate how he has her wait when he knows that she loves him…
personally i can't wait to see colin finally fall in love and woo penelope. Romance will be where I'll be most involved, penelope is really my favorite character. I can already feel my eyes shining.
I don't want the writers to give Penelope a suitor for the purpose of making Colin jealous. Sure it would be great for her to experience something like that and to have someone not treat her as badly as Colin has. But as bad as Penelope feels about everything, Colin doesn't do things to hurt Penelope; it comes from a place of protecting his own heart. The shit thing about protecting yourself, sometimes others get hurt. Things that Colin does only hurt Penelope as much because she has feelings for him. But Colin seeing her for who she is and discovering that as Lady Whistledown, she is somehow so much more improve. It's like their role of who's the real catch are reversed and I want to see him work hard to be the person she deserves. Especially if she has written him off and is so much more relaxed around him with a few exceptions.
I know people already said this but I want pen to lose feelings in the next season and colin realize that he actually loves her but the more his feelings grow she loses them so he has to win her back over time so its more than her having this crush on him and the two of them equally love each other over time, I'm honestly fine with the long game for them I can be patient if they eventually end up together

Actually he's like that in the books too. He used to consider her as a friend and thought that she fancied him just like other women did...It wasn't until book 4 that he started to spend more time with her that he fell in love 😊
@@nilu997 yeah I read the book also many times but it's still quite frustrating seeing it happen in live action version and the Netflix version of him seems to be even more oblivious than the book version and we know that Netflix likes to take it's liberties with the show and it's characters so I wouldn't be surprised if they did a few changes to his character.

In the books when Penelope when hear Colin say that he wouldn't marry her she actually confront him and tell him that she didn't ask him to marry her and is completely composed it was very powerful moment yet they didn't add that
I heard in books pen had a makeover in years lose weight than people give attention to her so Collin too, than their story happen... But i don't think they would do such a unnecessary thing due to body positivitisim and i support 🤟 I think if she won't wear that stupid dresses, everybody will realise her
In the book she essentially loses her baby fat over the course of years. Colin doesn't pay attention to her because she suddenly lost weight or anything superficial. She was in love with him for like 9 years before he noticed her charm n wit.
I personally support them if they want to make her loose weight. But for what purpose. I believe if she wants to loose some weight, she must do it because of herself and only her. Not because of Collin.
I think a lot of this is because right now he sees her as a friend and also his sister's best friend. Also he us just coming into himself. I think part of him thinks he is not good enough. I think we see him realize more and more that love based on friendship is something special.

They HAVE to make him earn her. In the books he does not hurt her this much and he BEATS himself up for never truly seeing her. He hates himself for taking so long to love her. He needs to freaking grovel and maybe have someone else court her and he gets jealous.
Ok ok but the resemblance of her to Penelope Garcia from criminal minds. Both strong women who were on the path of discovering thier worth and suffered heartbreaks but still did not damage their integrity and beauty that is uniquely theirs
I can understand where Colin is coming from. He doesn’t see Penelope as a woman yet. She is still seen as his little sister’s friend but I hope there’s groveling. I think they are really cute together because they both truly care about each other but one still doesn’t know what they are missing.
Penelope needs a makeover so badly 😭 The hair, the clothing choices. She looks so childish. A drastic change will make Colin really see her as a woman. I need to read the books
@@alb5801 it's actually really easy. She's an awkward wallflower whom no one ever notices...but she absolutely sees & hears all. And her style choices aren't her own. They're her mother's. In the books, she intentionally brings up herself & her entire family in Whistledown often in the hopes that her mother sees it & gets the picture. But of course, we don't find out she's actually Whistledown until book #4. She knows her wardrobe is trash & that they all look awful, but she has no choice. I friggin love Book Penelope. She's great.
I agree 100%, but...I think this is part of the "grand scheme". I think they're purposefully portraying her as child-like because they're planning a MAJOR coming out for Miss P. We've all seen Nicola Coughlan's sense of style; she's an absolute trend-setting bombshell. I think they're working up to something epic.
in the book this happens, she dresses like that because of her mother. in her mother's head she wearing yellow draws the attention of some man, in collin's book years go by and she dresses them as she likes
God I hate that they only give her yellow or pink to wear it's so unflattering! PLEASE give her something blue next season she would look so lovely in blue!
That's part of the story. There is a reason why the featheringtons are dressed in the loud colours. Pen isn't seen by them as a classic beauty but as one who no man will ever want to court.
I'm ready! It's possible they'll still do a time jump, which I'm not sure how that will make things in the show. I have a feeling they'll keep it current though. The changes from the book last season threw me off, but now that I'm prepared for changes it will be exciting to see the differences.
As a huge #polin fan. I'm hoping S2 built up to their story in S3, but giving Colin the chance to redeem himself & yes be challenged by a possible love interest for Pen. Given that everyone assumes she isn't marriage material. It's a shame they used 3 key scenes from RMB in E8, flipping them around losing that 🌟 spark bringing them together. Nicola & Luke have great chemistry & I'm eager to see their romance sooner rather than later. 💖💖💖💖
According to the latest statements, the third series focuses on the love story between Colin and Penelope, but it has also been rumored that a new male character will enter the scene. Since the series is very far from the books, I hope this character is a rival of Colin, he deserves to suffer from jealousy. Penelope has had to endure in silence for years. 😢
I believe the suitor for Penelope will be Fife, and the new character will be the introduction of John Stirling... (I hope Michael as well cuz I'd love an interaction between him and Colin but that's just wishful thinking hehe)

I wonder if they're going to write Penelope's weight loss (from the book) into the script thus Nicola would have to lose weight. The book seemed to emphasize that at least part of Colin's new acknowledgement of Pen was from her losing weight. Somehow I don't think they will, as I think it would be better for the show if he falls for her as she is. I've seen some photos of her without wearing that unflattering empire waist that the Regency period is so famous for, and she looks damn good, especially the pink tank dress she wore.
I'm sorry, but this is like a teenage love story. I want maturity, but they don't scream it. It's like their characters are playing dress up, looking like children, but pretending to be adults. Production should wait for them to grow a bit more (maybe another 3-4yrs) before bringing out their love story, but they are doing theirs next year. I hope they can change up their looks and personality a bit in the next few months.

Because Eloise knows that Penelope is Lady Whistledown and Colin knows how Penelope feels about him, and he told the other men that he was not interested in Penelope.....Bridgeton 3 will not be about Benedict, it will skip him and be about Colin and Penelope and then about Benedict. They are not slick.
I dont want to be mean (which means yes, i will be mean) they are not ready at all. Neither of them. I hope they wait until 2 or 3 more seasons to give them their love story. Also after a great season 1 and an amazing season 2, I feel these 2 characters will not be able to bring the intense chemistry that is needed. I have never seen C and P as love prospects.
I love the Colin in the books , but the Colin of the series does nothing for me. In the books it is Colin who discovers Penelope is whistledown and not till years later.
I'm trying to understand why they've changed so much from the books. Only Colin knew who she was and not until book 4!! And Eloise doesn't until after that so I just don't get it. And is the scene of colin being a complete jackass supposed to be changed from when he was with his brothers and pen heard him then?? So to sort of speed up the timeline or will that still happen? Because waiting 12 years for them to fall in love in the book is just so a I could slap the shite out of Colin moments as those tend to happen quite often... because let's face it Colin can be a bit daft at times pen speaks with her face and her eyes but he uses her without evening knowing it seems. She loves him so fiercely and he's too ignorant to see it I just hope that by changing things in the show that polin can happen oh so much quicker. And maybe he can grow up and finally stop caring to fit in with society and stop talking half way shit about pen she deserves so much better she's not a wallflower at all but a sunflower 🌻 waiting to bloom 💜 waiting to shine and be brave like the pen we know. I just hate how they've taken things with her and el things aren't the same in the book and I'm not sure how I feel about it and with pen overhearing Mr Colin the loudmouth unless it happened in the books and I just missed it it is just like the scene where she overheard him with Anthony and Benedict but without her saying I never asked you to marry me or whatnot but alas who knows I just wish whatever these writers have cooking up it's a hard focus on polin because if pen doesn't get her happy ending soon I will flip my shit. She reminds me so much of myself how people looked down on me because of my appearance because I didn't fit with the criteria I was never tall exactly 5ft just like pen and I was never fully skinny "pleasantly plump" as pen is definitely which I could never help being short doesn't help I could weigh the same as others yep look heavier. But you know what at the end of the day I'm getting married to such a wonderful man he's my Colin green eyes and all!!
I am really looking forward to this next season because so far I am not the biggest fan of this couple. Mostly because it paints Penelope in a rather „pathetic“ light, with no self-respect when it comes to Colin. They have a lot of potential though. I hope when the time comes, Penelope finds some more confidence and self-worth and Colin actually has to work hard to win Penelope over.
I want to see some fat development for both Colin and Pen. I wanna see Pen own her Lady whistledown side and know that she's so fucking perfect. As for Colin, he best be begging for her hand after he overlooked her for so long whilst she clearly liked him from day 1.
So why did he blow her off at the end of season 2? What it’s a ruse like how Julia Robert’s did in Notting Hill? He didn’t’ want people in his business?

unpopular opinion I don't really like Penelope not just because of the lady whistle-down thing but the fact that she loves to be up in everyone's business.
The second season was disappointing as the male lead was unable to act hetro. Many gay actors can act very hetro and many hetro actors can act believably gay. But this seasons lead did not pull it off in my opinion.
I think that whether they do it or not, the change should come from a good positive place. It could make sense to change a bit whatsoever since she has no one but herself right now, it would be so good that she has a revenge change. Lose weight, change fashion, be her own independent self. In the books she has an aunt, maybe Penelope can visit her and get the confidence boost there. The book is great but I feel like Penelope deserves to shine and love who she is.

April 4, 2022 - Why do some people constantly talk about the #Bridgerton books. The #Netflix Bridgerton show is based on the books and will not follow the books word for word. This being the case, I doubt the show will require Penelope to lose weight. The show is based on diversity.

Since they've obviously changed a lot of the story as compared to the books, I wish he could just work hard for her in the upcoming seasons. He's basically hurt her feelings more times in this series than the book. Obviously, she already has a crush on him now, but since the story's changed a bit, i hope the writers will let him fall in love with her first. Let him work hard for her coz at this point, she deserves so much better. He's never even felt jealousy at all in the book. Give her a suitor who'd appreciate her for who she is, then probably that would stir him up a bit. It took almost 10 years from this timeline until they were able to get together based on the book. Here, they constantly write each other and she's like one of the constants in his life. Maybe the writers can make her stop doing that so he could realize how his life is incomplete without her.
The writers I think have huge plans for this couple coz in the book, they got together fast. So I really have high hopes for this couple coz they focused on that scene when colin told the guys he will never court her. It was not how it happened in the book. This is more painful coz pen was never able to defend her honor and the convo was with other guys who were obviously mocking her. That was so painful to watch. In the book, he said it to his brothers coz his mother was egging him to get married. But this scenario is really different.
Just to emphasize what i said in my earlier post, i wish for pen to shelf her "crush" with colin, stop writing letters to him, and treat him just as a friend or just ignore him. Then make her say to his face that the moment he humiliated her in front of those boys by saying he will never court her, was the moment she lost all his love for him as well. Give her a suitor who will make him jealous beyond imagination. Someone who'd appreciate her for who she is, and who will make colin feel that he's lost the only person who has ever appreciated him so that he'll fight for her and beg her to be the same pen she's been to him for the past many years. Don't get me wrong. I really want them to be endgame. I just want him to suffer first. Hahahaha!

Kinda reminds me of the situation with Queen Charlotte's nephew, Prince Frederic who although genuinely interested in courting Daphne, suffered collateral damage Simon realized he actually loved Daphne. Their plan had worked but Simon didnt expect to catch feelings.
That said, I want Shondaland make Colin beg & grovel to get Pen back. When that happens, I hope she is kind to him, not cruel when she is vindicated. Yes, give her a suitor that would drive Colin crazy, but I want to see major but systematic, character development for Penelope. For her to discover her value as a person, than be dependent on the perception of her value from someone else's eyes. I want her to have that conviction that she is a whole valuable person worthy of love, without waiting on Colin's approval. I hope the suitor comes to truly value her as a dear friend and releases her willingly when he realizes she loves Colin. I hope she is able to be honest with herself & with him. I hope it is shown that the suitor finds his own happiness.
I cant deny though, that Colin has, for the most part, been sweet to her, despite being clueless & naivé. I believe when he earns her trust again, he would be a doting husband especially considering his parents' & example, and it always seemed that he also pervently desires a love match.
@@kmaikeegarsona7689 You don't need a love triangle to make him suffer.... Also if Pen starts standing out on her own without his help it deflates the emotional crescendo of the novel. The novel culminates in Pen getting a standing ovation from the Ton after Colin shines a light on his new bride and, due to circumstances, informs everyone that she is the brilliant Mrs Whistledown. For once Pen is at the center of attention and she likes it because she can feel Colin's utter love and devotion and the clapping and cheering helps. The entire point of the Colin-Pen relationship is that with time he is the one and only male to actually see how amazing she is. If Netflix, decides to go with a love triangle to make Colin jealous it takes away from everything Colin does to make Pen feel loved, cherished, and accepted. Though, I guess Netflix might do it that way as I doubt they will go for a time skip and actually given Colin and Pen the maturity boost they need to pull off the scenes from the book.
@@kmaikeegarsona7689 What I wish the most is Penelope truly living to her dream of being "brave and witty". That she will stand strong on her own - even in a shy and more introverted way. But she's going to build it on her own.
They have interesting story together - how love grows naturally, over the years and conversations. She always loved him but in the book she was also aware to a fact he's not gonna marry her. She just loved him. He was later on surprised by his growth of feelings for her, he started questioning society and himself, he started to think about what love truly is. He was charmer and subconsciously liked the good attention but he always wanted to be more, too. They were really cute with their passion for writing (him about travels, her - well, puns and witty talk) and that was really bonding for them. Show can play with that. But for their love - I want HER to realise her worth, then HIM really understanding how HE was blessed to be loved by such loyal, lovely, smart and INDEPENDENT woman who even if shy to others, was really open to him in some ways. They could center how special it is to know someone so well because you've been friends whole life.
Another thing is that Violet was also a wallflower. I've read a comment that Colin might be the one who reminds Edmund the most with his charm. So Penelope and Colin story and its development be very nice to see. Colin is romantic at heart and show was hinting that, too. There are small ways of looking at them and why they match.

They both want more, they look for more, they're both dreamers and romantics. In books it's after 10 years they get together. They should show how they grow and how they softly show their love for each other. Especially him for her. Aaaaand I wish he was smarter than to realise that she's the one when another suitor appears. It would be too easy.
I really wonder how show plays with Polin relationship. That's why I also prefer for them to have season 4. They need time to grow.
I do want Collin and Penelope to be end game but I'm not sure if they are ready. Collin has started to see Penelope, who she truly is but has not seen the entire picture. He takes her for granted. Next season due to Eloise and Pen's fight Collin will not see much of Pen and will miss her. I hope the writers let Penelope bloom this next season. Become more confident in herself out in society and make Collin take her seriously and not just as a constant. Maybe due to Penelope's new confidence a suitor comes along shaking Collin's world up. Also I hope Eloise and Pen can make up. Their friendship has been meaningful and I hope it stays that way.

Now she has written to him and obviously with lady Whistledown I wonder if he will tweak that she’s lady Whistledown because obviously writing styles would be similar. But he seems like he’s kind of more observant this time round I mean that looks he gives her and the tilt of the head when he is talking to her it’s more noticeable in this season just to show he’s given her full attention and yes I think there will be an interesting climax with their story and I do hope they get together because they are one of my favourite couples but in the book he does particularly his book he does come across as a little bit whiny. But it will be interesting to see his reaction to the reveal and also I would say some of the family as well the Bridgerton is on the favour Intenso win this series comes to an end I wonder what the reaction is will be because this was not dealt with in the books and I wish I could rewrite the story in a way because you do have elements of what happens another books but it be great to see

I just want her at one point in her life not to look at Collin in a way that makes everybody knows that she loves him. I want her at one point be done with any lingering feeling she has for him. The point is really that in 1814 ( storyline of Series 2 ,) Penelope was 18 as was Eliose, and Colin only about 20 . So by the time Romancing Mr Bridgerton ( Pen & Colin story) is set in 1824 10yrs later so both are maturing adults

I predict that in Season 3 after hearing Colin's commentary to his friends, Penelope will stand her ground as she did in the book regarding that scenario. She will take on a more firm/confident attitude towards herself just as Lady whistledown is and will finally use her voice to advocate for herself. Throughout season 2, we saw Penelope be that constant for Colin and he even admitted to realizing it, but after his comment, I think she wont be his constant any longer. This I believe will spark in him that curiosity, jealousy and frustration as to why she has grown so indifferent to her once attentive demeanor and if someone else now occupies his place in her heart. This can be where the book portion comes in to where he starts noticing her, wanting to always be with her and even the scene where he follows her to the church! Colin needs to get a taste of his medicine! If he knows Pen has always felt something for him and he did and said all those things to her, then he at the hands of Penelope needs to know what it feels like to be the wallflower in someones life.
It would be nice to have a genuine suitor for Pen, but then it would suck that she cut off that pursuit to go to Colin once he wants her. I really hope they do Penelope justice! She is so kind, loving and understanding throughout the seasons so far, and she deserves to be noticed for who she is!
I expect the writers, from what the actors and show creators have said about the season, it’s going to another level on top of the grandeur that was Season 2. I don’t usually have high expectations but this is a season I expect them to do really well on. Penelope isn’t really a perfect peach either, so my hope is they acknowledge that as well. I adore Pen and I can’t wait for her turn. She may not be thin, but I think she gorgeous and just a beautiful person. And honestly, when her and Colin do get their shot, I hope she does make him work for it. I don’t appreciate how he has her wait when he knows that she loves him…
personally i can't wait to see colin finally fall in love and woo penelope. Romance will be where I'll be most involved, penelope is really my favorite character. I can already feel my eyes shining.
I don't want the writers to give Penelope a suitor for the purpose of making Colin jealous. Sure it would be great for her to experience something like that and to have someone not treat her as badly as Colin has. But as bad as Penelope feels about everything, Colin doesn't do things to hurt Penelope; it comes from a place of protecting his own heart. The shit thing about protecting yourself, sometimes others get hurt. Things that Colin does only hurt Penelope as much because she has feelings for him. But Colin seeing her for who she is and discovering that as Lady Whistledown, she is somehow so much more improve. It's like their role of who's the real catch are reversed and I want to see him work hard to be the person she deserves. Especially if she has written him off and is so much more relaxed around him with a few exceptions.

I know people already said this but I want pen to lose feelings in the next season and colin realize that he actually loves her but the more his feelings grow she loses them so he has to win her back over time so its more than her having this crush on him and the two of them equally love each other over time, I'm honestly fine with the long game for them I can be patient if they eventually end up together

Actually he's like that in the books too. He used to consider her as a friend and thought that she fancied him just like other women did...It wasn't until book 4 that he started to spend more time with her that he fell in love 😊

@@nilu997 yeah I read the book also many times but it's still quite frustrating seeing it happen in live action version and the Netflix version of him seems to be even more oblivious than the book version and we know that Netflix likes to take it's liberties with the show and it's characters so I wouldn't be surprised if they did a few changes to his character.

In the book she essentially loses her baby fat over the course of years. Colin doesn't pay attention to her because she suddenly lost weight or anything superficial. She was in love with him for like 9 years before he noticed her charm n wit.
She definitely did not have a makeover, just lost her baby fat and became a spinster😂
I personally support them if they want to make her loose weight. But for what purpose. I believe if she wants to loose some weight, she must do it because of herself and only her. Not because of Collin.
I think a lot of this is because right now he sees her as a friend and also his sister's best friend. Also he us just coming into himself. I think part of him thinks he is not good enough. I think we see him realize more and more that love based on friendship is something special.

@@alb5801 it's actually really easy. She's an awkward wallflower whom no one ever notices...but she absolutely sees & hears all. And her style choices aren't her own. They're her mother's. In the books, she intentionally brings up herself & her entire family in Whistledown often in the hopes that her mother sees it & gets the picture. But of course, we don't find out she's actually Whistledown until book #4. She knows her wardrobe is trash & that they all look awful, but she has no choice. I friggin love Book Penelope. She's great.
I agree 100%, but...I think this is part of the "grand scheme". I think they're purposefully portraying her as child-like because they're planning a MAJOR coming out for Miss P. We've all seen Nicola Coughlan's sense of style; she's an absolute trend-setting bombshell. I think they're working up to something epic.
in the book this happens, she dresses like that because of her mother. in her mother's head she wearing yellow draws the attention of some man, in collin's book years go by and she dresses them as she likes

That's part of the story. There is a reason why the featheringtons are dressed in the loud colours. Pen isn't seen by them as a classic beauty but as one who no man will ever want to court.

I'm ready! It's possible they'll still do a time jump, which I'm not sure how that will make things in the show. I have a feeling they'll keep it current though. The changes from the book last season threw me off, but now that I'm prepared for changes it will be exciting to see the differences.

I believe the suitor for Penelope will be Fife, and the new character will be the introduction of John Stirling... (I hope Michael as well cuz I'd love an interaction between him and Colin but that's just wishful thinking hehe)

I wonder if they're going to write Penelope's weight loss (from the book) into the script thus Nicola would have to lose weight. The book seemed to emphasize that at least part of Colin's new acknowledgement of Pen was from her losing weight. Somehow I don't think they will, as I think it would be better for the show if he falls for her as she is. I've seen some photos of her without wearing that unflattering empire waist that the Regency period is so famous for, and she looks damn good, especially the pink tank dress she wore.

I'm sorry, but this is like a teenage love story. I want maturity, but they don't scream it. It's like their characters are playing dress up, looking like children, but pretending to be adults. Production should wait for them to grow a bit more (maybe another 3-4yrs) before bringing out their love story, but they are doing theirs next year. I hope they can change up their looks and personality a bit in the next few months.

I dont want to be mean (which means yes, i will be mean) they are not ready at all. Neither of them. I hope they wait until 2 or 3 more seasons to give them their love story. Also after a great season 1 and an amazing season 2, I feel these 2 characters will not be able to bring the intense chemistry that is needed. I have never seen C and P as love prospects.
I love the Colin in the books , but the Colin of the series does nothing for me. In the books it is Colin who discovers Penelope is whistledown and not till years later.

I'm trying to understand why they've changed so much from the books. Only Colin knew who she was and not until book 4!! And Eloise doesn't until after that so I just don't get it. And is the scene of colin being a complete jackass supposed to be changed from when he was with his brothers and pen heard him then?? So to sort of speed up the timeline or will that still happen? Because waiting 12 years for them to fall in love in the book is just so a I could slap the shite out of Colin moments as those tend to happen quite often... because let's face it Colin can be a bit daft at times pen speaks with her face and her eyes but he uses her without evening knowing it seems. She loves him so fiercely and he's too ignorant to see it I just hope that by changing things in the show that polin can happen oh so much quicker. And maybe he can grow up and finally stop caring to fit in with society and stop talking half way shit about pen she deserves so much better she's not a wallflower at all but a sunflower 🌻 waiting to bloom 💜 waiting to shine and be brave like the pen we know. I just hate how they've taken things with her and el things aren't the same in the book and I'm not sure how I feel about it and with pen overhearing Mr Colin the loudmouth unless it happened in the books and I just missed it it is just like the scene where she overheard him with Anthony and Benedict but without her saying I never asked you to marry me or whatnot but alas who knows I just wish whatever these writers have cooking up it's a hard focus on polin because if pen doesn't get her happy ending soon I will flip my shit. She reminds me so much of myself how people looked down on me because of my appearance because I didn't fit with the criteria I was never tall exactly 5ft just like pen and I was never fully skinny "pleasantly plump" as pen is definitely which I could never help being short doesn't help I could weigh the same as others yep look heavier. But you know what at the end of the day I'm getting married to such a wonderful man he's my Colin green eyes and all!!

I am really looking forward to this next season because so far I am not the biggest fan of this couple. Mostly because it paints Penelope in a rather „pathetic“ light, with no self-respect when it comes to Colin. They have a lot of potential though.
I hope when the time comes, Penelope finds some more confidence and self-worth and Colin actually has to work hard to win Penelope over.

unpopular opinion I don't really like Penelope not just because of the lady whistle-down thing but the fact that she loves to be up in everyone's business.
The second season was disappointing as the male lead was unable to act hetro. Many gay actors can act very hetro and many hetro actors can act believably gay. But this seasons lead did not pull it off in my opinion.
Penelope looses weight in the book. I hope this actress does too and they don’t push a fat acceptance agenda.

I think that whether they do it or not, the change should come from a good positive place. It could make sense to change a bit whatsoever since she has no one but herself right now, it would be so good that she has a revenge change. Lose weight, change fashion, be her own independent self. In the books she has an aunt, maybe Penelope can visit her and get the confidence boost there. The book is great but I feel like Penelope deserves to shine and love who she is.

April 4, 2022 - Why do some people constantly talk about the #Bridgerton books. The #Netflix Bridgerton show is based on the books and will not follow the books word for word. This being the case, I doubt the show will require Penelope to lose weight. The show is based on diversity.
