The whole week of July 22-26, the wind direction was blowing from SW - good indicator for chillier water. It'd take a hard E/NE wind to return the warmer water temps. Whenever I did come down to OBX, I'd follow the wind forecast to determine surfing or beach weather. It might warm up a little for today (Sunday), but it'll be cooler again all this upcoming week with the SW winds returning Monday morning. Enjoy the beach!
