Ali Sethi was auto tune plus all instruments applied to make the voice sound good. Above video shows all artists either performing live or at home. Since Late Mehendi Hasan Sahab mastered this ghazal we rank him number one otherwise it’s difficult to confidently declare someone number 2. They’re all good including Sethi.

I don’t think anyone, even these legends can come close to what Late Mehdi Hassan Sahab has created in the original ghazal. He took the magic and secret of this beautiful masterpiece with himself. It can’t ever be replicated.
No doubt Mehdi Hassan Sahab Is Still , King Of Ghazals, But be careful before giving such comments, People don't even have 0.5% percent knowledge of music but they just wanted to do comments like , Senior Judges.

That Shankar Mahadevan is a born singer is evident from his original style in singing of this classic gazal. Both Sonu Nigam & Shreya Ghoshal seemed off colour. Jubin Nautiyal is off the mark.
Completely agree with Devapriya sir. No one has shown the depth which Shankar mahadevan has. This is real gazal singing.
But if you compare with original Song of Legend Mehdi Hassan sahab then Sonu Nigam gave perfect justice, I can feel the emotions produced by him in this ghazal.
In feel and emotions Shankar Mahadevan was off colour.

No one can come close to Khan Saheb. He sang effortlessly did justice to the lyrics which touched the core of the hearts. Soni Nigam could have created the magic if given the right ambience.

I am afraid no one could match Shankar Mahadevan in this set of renditions. His singing gave me goose bumps and made my eyes teary. Shreya was also very good. The setting where Sonu was singing I guess didn't allow him to do justice to the song, otherwise his one might have been equally good.
Other's just singing notes ,But I felt the soul only in Sonu Nigam's version, He sung it with heart Other's sung like a Classical Music Test 😂
