I feel like my golden is from a different breed. He might not be afraid to thunder, fireworks, or being left alone, but as soon as we get a bottle of hot sauce, he is terrified 😢
U should check out the vid how to know if ur dog is pure bred in this channell ull se it when ull click on the channel so u can see if ur dog is pure bred
My Golden is really brave, he isnt't afraid of any of the things listed in the video, except the hair dryer. He experienced his first New year's eve when he was only 5 months old, I'd had other dogs who would hide under the bed so I thought he would be scared too, instead in went out on the balcony to watch the fireworks. He is not afraid of thunder either and wants to go out when there is a storm. Loves car rides and enjoys visits to the vet (even though he's been operated twice) because he meets other dogs. So my Alex must be really special.
My 17-month-old golden retriever has never been afraid of any of those thing on the list. She’s a very confident little girl, but briefly she was afraid of a hula hoop. 🐾🐾🤣😂
Great pointers! Our Golden used to throw up on car trips. We tried taking him on short trips to somewhere great. Eg. The dog park. Thankfully he is fine in the car now. You used the operative word ‘desensitise’. Thx again for an informative vid. 👏
What a delightful video of cute animals! 😍🐾 It's impossible to resist the adorable charm they exude. From fluffy kittens to playful puppies, this video is a treasure trove of heartwarming moments.
Another unusual fear……My Golden is fearful of his own reflection that he sees in a roof light window in the kitchen ( when it’s getting dark outside)he barks loudly and growls for several minutes!! I don’t react too much or scold him but calmly get him to sit…..slowly improving every evening🐾🇬🇧
Besides the separation anxiety, everything else really just came and went as far as fear. Separation anxiety tends to just get worse. Every noise is scary the first time. The more they hear it the more they ignore it. He didn't like the car because the only time he was in it was to go to vet. We started to introduce short trips to nowhere much, like just around the block, then to a drive through, then here or there so now he's good because not every car ride is to vet
So funny, my dog loves the blow dryer, won’t move for the vacuum cleaner and watches fireworks with us every year! He is afraid of random new things that will make its way in the house however….a house filter, luggage, a black bag….🤷🏻♀️
It's so nice to see how much you've grown! I remember when you guys just hit 20 subscribers (I was 10th)! And look where you are now! On the road to 100K! I know we can do it! 🐾
umbrellas, loud music in someone's car... random things that we didn't really see to much when he was young, hes 10 months old now (another fear period) so watching out for new things. He just got over people in yellow vests.
Yes it totally depends on a particular dog, my simba on the other hand, won't be scared of things you just mentioned. He is rather scared of things like sound of a vacuum cleaner and a hair dryer.
My GR is panic stricken by thunder and hides under my legs as I am usually online at my desk. She also refuses to go out if there is rain, or wet underfoot. Even drizzle upsets her and she won't go in the garden, she only likes going out for her bodily needs, even if it is a nice day, and then pulls quite hard to come home. Separation stress is only a problem if she is anywhere alone that is not home. She is fine at home, has the run of the house, and it is familiar. She had a hard start to life so I expect that is where her fears originated from. Good video, thank you.
Yes we plan to make a detailed video on separation anxiety since its pretty common in goldens and even our Simba has experienced it in the past but just in case we have a video in that same genre - ruclips.net/video/Cc4LpyJKQgI/видео.html . I hope were of any help! Thank you for the Comment😄
Can you guys please make a video for how to overcome the separation anxiety? I have an 11 month old golden. I haven’t been able to really leave the house without issues since we got him. I work from home as well which adds to the problem massively. It is a really big issue if you guys have some good tips wed be really grateful, trainers haven’t managed to really help us so far. 🙏
Yes seperation anxiety can be a problem for new dog owners and it is something many owners face! We would love to make a video on such a topic :) Thank you so much for the suggestion.
Our 11 year Riley loves going to the vet. Like all Goldens that we have had, he loves everybody. He is an “only” dog and meeting other dogs in the waiting area is an absolute thrill for him. His big fear is thunder and fireworks. We recently plugged in a Thunderease unit. We plugged it in when it was not thundering. He went over and sniffed/ inspected it and they laid down. The next day and for several days had thunder. He essentially slept through it, no panting or apparent anxiety. He was still leary about going outside when there is thunder, but so am I. Then came the July 4 weekend fireworks in our neighborhood. He was still anxious one night. People were letting them off for about three nights. The second night was the most intense and he was very anxious and threw up. The other two nights he handled them pretty well. Subsequent thunderstorms have been pretty much a non-event for him. Overall the the Thunderease vaporizer seems to have really helped. The advertising claims studies show 90% effectiveness and thus far, I think that seems to be about right. We had tried tranquilizers in the past. Usually we didn’t give them to him enough in advance and didn’t like the lasting lethargy for several hours afterwards. The Thunderease helped calm him but he still was alert and good natured.
They all have different personalities. I had a Golden that used to hide in the shower or basement when it thundered or there was fireworks, and another Golden that slept through it all, even with windows wide open and crazy thunder or fireworks going off nearby. They both hated the vet and being alone though.
My golden doesn't care about thunder, us leaving, the vet, fireworks, and she LOVES the car. But the minute her ball is "stuck" on the heat register on the floor? "Game over Dad, I can't pick it up because of the lines on the vent." Lol... She's also terrified of laundry baskets.
I have lots of golden retrievers and bernese. None of the golden retriever's are scared of thunder but one bernese is. Her name is Lacy. When she here's thunder she runs straight to us for safety. Fire works are the same. Lacy is the only scared one. Vacuums are a bit different. The dogs aren't scared when its far away. When its close they are though. Blow dryers are the same. Our dogs are fine being in a car. At the vet. Most of our dogs are fine with it. Our dogs Maddy, Willow and Lacy are all bernese they can get a little scared. The goldens do good. All 14 of the dogs hate being left alone.
My dog is very scared of getting into a car , when we go inside he just starts barking in low voice and looks down coz many cars pass side. My dog is very scared of the bell in house. We have a small bell when we click a button it makes sounds , and when I keep it near him he just starts acting funny. 🤩 thanks for ur guide all the fears of my dog is there in this video and I was waiting for the guide 😊
My golden retriever Trixie is so cute😍She has separation anxiety but she NEVER barks so she just whines even if I'm playing outside and mom is mowing the lawn and nobody else is in the house, Trixie will whine.😆
I had a great golden mix and he got a little upset with some of these but not a whole lot. He didn't seem to have a problem with the vet ride and he loved riding in the truck or car
The only thing my dog is afraid of is being alone, and definitely the vacuum, he makes a huge deal whenever I leave, but he loves the vet and getting past the car to start a walk is almost impossible 😂 he literally will try to hop in strangers cars if the door is open like “okay where are we going!!”
My golden retriever was way to laid back to be scared of anything .. He would sleep during thunderstorm.. Never worried about being by himself .. Nope vet didn't bother him either.. loved going it meant lots of pats and treats..he would walk over to be weighed as soon as we got there. Fire works.. nope He loved the car .. He would sleep while I vaccumed around him .. I don't know where your getting your dogs from .. but I've not met an anxious Golden retriever
My golden was not afraid of thunder or car rides, in fact he absolutely loved to be in the back of the car (SUV) and have me drive with the wind blowing on him. He didnt like to be left alone and would bark--he knew when I was getting ready to go out and was very alert watching me. Didnt liek going to be groomed ot the vet! He would paw at me as if to say, "Let's get outta here!" He didn't mess with one cat I have--she wouldnt tolerate him and he knew she could scratch him. But she actually liked him more and more and would rub herself on him as he layed down. I miss my biuddy of 14 years.
We have a video on such similar topic: ruclips.net/video/Cc4LpyJKQgI/видео.htmlsi=pec1NBrDcCpTBuGS but we promise to upload a detailed one soon! We hope we were of any help😄 Thank you so much.
I just got my 2 1/2 year old Golden 2 weeks ago and she is afraid of anything that makes noise while out on a walk. She is hyper sensitive to anything that moves including neighbors a full block away on the opposite side of the street. Unfortunately I don't know a great deal about her history or previous owner other than that they had two preteen children.
As said in the video, there are many reasons that lead to a dog's fear and it could be because of something that happened in the past or present. We're glad we could help! Thank you so much😄
And the car my dog hates getting in but doesn’t mind when she’s in it but she’s not scared of the vet.I think she doesn’t like that the first time she got in the car was the last time she came to our home but had to leave hers.honestly idk why but that’s my guess.
my sheltie is terrified of storms, and car rides. She doesn't like the vet office until he says all done at the end of the exam, then she calms down, smiles, and wags her tail.
My golden isn’t afraid of any of these things. The only thing that unnerves him is a trash bag sitting by the door when I am about to take the trash out. I can’t seem to get that one under control.
Our Golden, also named Bruno likes the vet the most out of everything, all that smells, cats and dogs and the attention of girls working at the vet makes he isn't even feel he gets vaccinated... He isn't afraid for thunder, the enjoyment of playing in the rain is more fun than being afraid for sounds, but gets crazy from helicopters and planes flying over. Everything is better then left alone, when I open the door of our car, but even strangers cars, he is the first who is in, nobody is as quick as he is, and he isn't stepping out without a ride, ofcourse the window needs to be open and he really enjoy all smells and the people passing by and give attention. Very slowly he can be left alone (1 year old) for a few hours, but always the same excitement when you come back, but that's even when I am going for 10 minutes . Till he was 8 months I thought he would never become a relaxed dog, but the last months he can be next to me when I am working without being naughty and needs attention all the time. The most he likes the beach with all children and playing around, jumping into waves and catch everything the children throw in the sea .. Bruno is trough his kindness a known name at the beach, even I live in a country dogs aren't popular at all.
Lawn mower, snow blower. pretty much any machine that made noise. She was not effected by fire works, I even took her to the gun range, no fear! She was a good girl!
My golden retriever is only scared of the vacuum cleaner he loves the car because he thinks that we are going to get him washed he’s not scared of the vets he’s not scared of fireworks or thunder or the hairdryer and he’s used to being alone sometimes so thx for the vacuum cleaner one
I have two dogs which are both boys and golden retrievers so this was very helpful and my dogs are kind of scared of balloons because like me they have a fear of the balloon popping
My dog is 2 years old. When we first got our first dog she was 6 months. She puked in the truck because she was car sick. When she’s outside sometimes Jessie eats grass.
My 8 month old goldie (simba) had fear of all of these at some point, but now he has overgrown it all. But he never lets me vaccum the room or let airdry him cause he likes to eat the air coming out of it🤣🤣🤣 Edit- grammer
My Golden loves to go to the vet. He is in the middle of attention and gets treets afterwards. The vacuum cleaner ist evil. He lefts the room and hides in the bigest possible distanz. You could take a chainsaw and chop a hole tree into small peaces. He would only look interestet what you are doing. But the vacuum cleaner is a peace of nightmare. Fireworks are a nightmare too. It turned out, that he is calmer if we take him out in front of the door. He is still nervous but much calmer when he sees where the noises come from. Thunderstorms are a different story. He gets nervous bevore we recognize it and is a great weather warning guy. If he only wouldn't be so terrible in fear during thunderstorms. It doesn't seem to be the loud noise (at least not only) but more the weather condition. If we see him calming down, we can be sure the thunderstorme is completely over.
My golden retriever is afraid of drains 😂. Every time I try to get her to walk over a drain with me she either runs away, or pulls on the leash until I either go somewhere else, or her collar falls off and she just scotches away from the drain! But to be honest, the drain does have a load of holes that her feet may get stuck in!
My golden didn't like UPS, FedEx, or garbage trucks. But once she realized that people were in them she didn't mind them. To this day she doesn't like the sound of the trees in the wind. Our neighbor has a palm tree and when it's windy it makes all sorts of noises. I have to walk out with her, stand with her and tell her she's fine so she'll do her business. Entire time she has that concerned look on her face. Everything else, she's fine with.
My lovely boy fears the fireworks and hates cars because he gets car sick. He feels the same about lifts/elevators and the ferry boats. He doesn't like bees either, as he got one stuck in his paw once and it freaked him out until we could get the buzzing thing free of his fur. He hates fireworks but is fine with thunder. Different type of noise.
My 8 weeks Goldie whine if none of are in the loving room than goes to sleep after -10 mins. He hardly bark like 2- 3 times a just a bark though. He doesn't mind blowdryer. He is afraid of our cleaning bottle lol
I live in the south by water, there's snakes everywhere. Mine waits till I check the screen room for a snake before she will go out back. LOL I don't mind, if she feels safe.
My golden has no issues with fireworks, car rides, thunder or any of those! However, he is terrified of balloons lol. That’s the only thing that gets him scared
I feel like my golden is from a different breed. He might not be afraid to thunder, fireworks, or being left alone, but as soon as we get a bottle of hot sauce, he is terrified 😢
Same with my golden except hot sauce she can eat each and everything if it was possible
Lol
Hmmm might need to get a DNA test then
That dog just doesn’t like hot sauce
U should check out the vid how to know if ur dog is pure bred in this channell ull se it when ull click on the channel so u can see if ur dog is pure bred

Wow, that is literally the same with my Golden as well. Beautiful and absolutely glorious dogs.
Lol my golden doodle is so similar, but if I raise a pillow, he runs out of the room
My dog loves the vet too… WHY?!
Lol my golden retriever named dodoo cheese is same as yours
I have been crazy about getting a golden retriever. Do you guys recommend it?
My 17-month-old golden retriever has never been afraid of any of those thing on the list. She’s a very confident little girl, but briefly she was afraid of a hula hoop. 🐾🐾🤣😂

My retriever is afraid of stool (that is used for sitting)
Hehe....lol🤣🤣🤣

My golden loves the vacuum when we get it out her tail wags and she plays with it
Haha our simba used be scared of its sound but we used the same tactic mentioned in the video and now he is totally fine.
Thankyou for the video I have a golden retriever and now I will try to avoid these things

My golden retriever loves vacuum cleaner😆 He would chase and follow me all around the house when I am using it.
So true with the car one of my dogs are fine but the other one barks the whole time unless it’s with a certain person
oddly enough, my dog loves the vacuum and hair drier, she does the play bow and will occasionally try to herd the vacuum across the floor.
Do you have a golden retriever
The only thing my dog is afraid of is being alone, and definitely the vacuum, he makes a huge deal whenever I leave, but he loves the vet and getting past the car to start a walk is almost impossible 😂 he literally will try to hop in strangers cars if the door is open like “okay where are we going!!”

Thanks a lot. I am trying to take a Golden retriever and I got such an important information.
Our GR surprisingly goes in the car once the doors are open
I love golden retriver. 😍😍😍
Our golden has horrible separation anxiety! I feel so bad for him because he gets so upset and whines when we get home. A video would be great!!!!

Please do a video for separation anxiety for retrievers
I just got my 2 1/2 year old Golden 2 weeks ago and she is afraid of anything that makes noise while out on a walk. She is hyper sensitive to anything that moves including neighbors a full block away on the opposite side of the street. Unfortunately I don't know a great deal about her history or previous owner other than that they had two preteen children.

Some Golden Retriever afraid of umbrellas (big). Like ours. She's really terrified whenever we take the umbrellas.
Hey can you please make a video how to get rid of separation anxiety? Thanks.

Separation anxiety please make a new video on it
My golden didn't like UPS, FedEx, or garbage trucks.
All these are TOTALLY fine!! My Golden retriever is scared of A BOTTLE OF WATER! 😐✋💧💧🍶🍶
Haha it depends on a particular dog :)
My golden excited going to vet ... I don't know why, when she se the doctor like meeting old friends 😂
I Would love u to do a video of Separation anxiety
Yeah sure! It is one of the major problems faced by both the owners and their dogs. Thank you so much for your suggestion :)
My dog is very good at the vet bc i promise i will give him more then any treqt
Mine is terrified of Biofreeze. He will dart out of the room at first smell or sight.
It would be great help if u put a video on how to deal with separation anxiety
My Golden baby has it
I live in the south by water, there's snakes everywhere. Mine waits till I check the screen room for a snake before she will go out back. LOL I don't mind, if she feels safe.
My golden has no issues with fireworks, car rides, thunder or any of those! However, he is terrified of balloons lol. That’s the only thing that gets him scared
our golden retriever comes out and watches the fireworks with us at new year and ain't scarred of thunder either. i think ours is broken😂
Our golden doesn’t like the car but loves riding on the quad .
My 4 month "Teddy" is scared of mixer sound and cooker whistle sound.
The only thing our golden is terrified of in the whole world is our cat. 😂
My golden was scared of his own shadow and looking himself at the mirror. None of the 7 things on the video hahahahahaha
Sing them the thunder buddy song lol
I enjoyed this RUclips, thanks for your insights!
Latest thing she is afraid of are balloons. I brought balloons home from my twins birthday party. She is terrified of them. As well as loud noises
