And to your question, Miika, the solo guitarist was playing the bass in this album before they hired Sami Kukkohovi.

I think the previous song you reacted was "Fragile" (from the album "Crimson", which came in 2000 I think). I wouldn't really call this melodeath either, but I think the commenters might be referring to their previous albums, because "North from Here" is definitely melodeath. Sentenced changed their style quite a lot during their first years. Their first album (1991) was sort of doomish death metal and their guitarist (Miika Tenkula) did the vocals on that one. The next album was more melodic (North from Here, 1993) and they changed their vocalist to their bassist Taneli Jarva. That album is actually sometimes credited as the first ever melodeath album, but I don't if that is actually a fact. They switched directions again with their third album "Amok" (1995), which is still kinda melodeath, but also more doomish and heavy metal. After that came "Down" (from which Noose is from, 1996), where Ville Laihiala did the vocals and their guitarist Miika played also the bass, as Taneli wasn't with the band anymore. So that's the reason why there isn't a bass player in the video either. :) Afterwards their core style stayed somewhat same (you always recognize that it's a Senteced song), but they tried something different with every album.
If you wish some recommendations to which songs to check out, I'd say "My Sky Is Darker Than Thine" from North from Here, "Nepenthe" from Amok and "Aika multaa muistot (Everything Is Nothing)" from Cold White Light. Other fans can probably recommend something too, again their discography is quite large, so everyone kinda has their own favorites. :)
Also, thanks for the Pist.On recommendation, haven't heard of them before, definitely intrigued!
