Vehicles stopped on both sides of the road so nobody could move is more terrifying. In the end, negligent behaviour is an equal danger to oneself. Being a constant risk around others will sooner or later get you a Darwin award, particularly in an emergency, when their own survival is also at risk.
I have experienced many mini quakes but in November last year I experienced a 7.8 magnitude earthquake and I am on reclaimed land on the second story of an old timber house. It was very scary lol I got a little traumatised from it to be honest
yup I remember during the November quake the ground was roaring so loud and my house was making a sickening groan on top of everything in your room moving, falling and smashing. that particular earthquake set off car alarms down my street too
The footage where the subtitle says FUKUSHIMA EARTHQUAKE 2016 is NOT Fukushima, not even in 2016.

People call earthquakes, tornadoes etc. disasters. But you can't deny the incredibleness of these natural occurances. Imagine the energy it's required to shake that much mass
The guys battling the pool waves @ 4:49...hilarious. I think that first they were alarmed and then they were like "What the heck. Might as well enjoy it." Am I the only one who laughed at the guy who first fell in the pool @ 8:11 and climbs out @ 8:19? I guess he wasn't really expecting that dunking!
My thought was, "I hope they know how to swim" because they were only in about 3' of water which could mean they might not have known how to. If the guys couldn't swim I imagine it was terrifying. If they'd been thrust against the curbing on the top rim of the pool they might have been killed.
Touching Cloth Productions he probably came from the past or from the future. He was just unlucky enough to arrive to that precise time during and earthquake and in a pool :b
8:12 you can see him jump into the pool of course where he came from was definitely from a tear in the space time continuum he just so happened to exit it right next to the pool then jumped in
Those guys were laughing at the ground movement during the Fukushima earthquake, but that earthquake was sadly the LEAST of the 3 disasters that happened that day. The nuclear explosion and the tsunami made the earthquake look mild by comparison.
I've only been in a handful of minor earthquakes, and those were scary enough. I can't imagine how frightening the Sumatran and Tohoku quakes were. Soil liquifaction is so freaky.
lmfao I know it's a bad situation, but watching those 2 kids in the pool at 4:50 trying to get to the edge to get out and just getting thrown around like they're in a giant ocean swell was sort of amusing. I've never seen someone have so much difficulty getting out of a pool before, so it was pretty entertaining.
Yorokobi Yos Perhaps that wall had enough of it's captive and just shit him out for a higher chance of survival. Lucky bastard Don't ever go into that pool, the wall will grab ya
Steven Lester It's incorrect. Fukushima earthquake 2016 did happen, but it was not as strong, and it happened when it was still dark. Most of the footage in this part was from 2011.
the people in the last one be like "oh the sidewalk is splitting open and moving 12 inches back and forth "... ok let me just walk around it and not miss a lick in the conversation we were having...lol..
tremorelano he was in the pool , lol watched it repeatedly you can see him sitting right there at pool at 8:05 to 8:08 the bigger wave made him fall from there but yep it does seem like he teleported out of nowhere
20 minutes before I left Japan in 2015 there was a 7.8 earthquake off the coast. Shook the whole airport. That was the first earthquake I ever felt. Feels a lot different than I thought it would.
One of the things I loved about living in Japan is how polite they are. Hear that announcement about the quake? Mixed in with the info he is literally saying thank you.
Supermarkets and swimming pools appear to places you dont want to be in an earthquake. The middle of a road seems to be the safest unless your on a mountain
I've never experienced an earthquake first hand before, but it must be such an unusual sensation. I mean it's the ground. It's something that you're used to being absolutely still at every time.
One minor Earthquake I went through that is it. The Japanese Earthquake is the most amazing and terrifying thing I have ever seen. I love where I live.. except the Winter's.
5:40, that is not a pipe that is broken, that is soil liquefaction (a phenomenon whereby a saturated or partially saturated soilsubstantially loses strength and stiffness in response to an applied stress, usually earthquake shaking or other sudden change in stress condition, causingit to behave like a liquid).
truly incredible footage for someone like me to watch living here in Britain, I've experienced only two very small earthquakes here many year's ago both of which have led me to wonder what a big one would be like, great post well worth watching.
11:00 The ground behaves like water when there's earthquakes. Nothing to really worry about unless you are standing next to solid rock. Then there can be swells or gaps.
My fiance's brother was an asian art columnist and and manaed to end up with a few lovely, nefarious ladies in hus hotel room at the time. When mum asked how he was, his response: "Well, I have air conditioning."
Those watery cracks would freak me out more than falling rocks and shaking buildings. Thankfully where I live the biggest natural danger is 120° summers. And there's air conditioning for that.
It looks like being in a pool when an earthquake strikes would not be easy to deal with. The water kept flowing from one side to the next continuously.
Good thing most of the people in those areas are in good shape and can move quickly in a quake. If that happened in the US some many people would be screwed.
The scary thing for me is that here in Italy we have the same problem as Japan (obviously in a smaller scale) but we didn't build antiseismic buildings rather we build with sand and the effect are evident... L'Aquila....
Honestly we all destroying the earth slowly by digging for golds diamonds ect ect, and start wars killing our own brother and sisters, Now the earth cannot tolerate, and mother earth got to teach all of us a lesson, there is no turning back. Its very sad world that we live in.
Largest for me was a 4.5 and it scared me badly. I felt a few tremors for the next day or so and each one, although much less shaking than the 4.5 made me think here it comes again...
5:40 That's not a waterline. It's just water that has been sitting in the ground which reaches the surface because it's being compressed and squeezed out of the ground.
I remember my worst one though, it was last year, I was on extra classes at 19.30 (07.30pm) my chair started shaking, but since I was too focused to my book, I thought that was my friend who shake it, it wasn't. I looked at my friend, he looked at me, and realized that it was earthquake, we ran outside, and saw street lamps dancing, some motorcycles fell, luckily no buildings were broken down.
I was in an earthquake as a child sleeping on my older brothers floor because i was afraid of bigfood looking in my window. I remember looking down the hall and the floor was in waves. I lived in Oregon USA at the time. Dumb childish fears. lol.
You are wrong. On everything. I have been in several earthquakes. You do NOT run outside. You get under something sturdy, or you get in a doorjamb. But you go ahead and run outside like the dumbass that you are, and watch as pieces of building or glass kill you.
Here, disphit: "Running is one of the most dangerous things you can do," explained Brian Humphrey, Spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department and a previous Community Emergency Response Team instructor. "People can lose their lives when they run, especially when windows or glass mirrors are near. You should duck, cover and hold."" Feel free to read the rest and educate your idiotic self. laist.com/2008/07/30/why_you_shouldnt_run_outside_during.php
I experienced one earthquake in my life. It was so tiny the only thing that happened is a tissue box that fell of a table :') my mom was on the bus and she didnt even feel it :')
that rockfall is terrifying isn't it
I`m surprised they did not get their brooms out and sweep the road and carry on driving.
Vehicles stopped on both sides of the road so nobody could move is more terrifying. In the end, negligent behaviour is an equal danger to oneself. Being a constant risk around others will sooner or later get you a Darwin award, particularly in an emergency, when their own survival is also at risk.
at least no rocks the size of a small house came down
In Finland we luckily don't have earthquakes or anything like that, but I can imagine how scary it can be when your home is shaking
I have experienced many mini quakes but in November last year I experienced a 7.8 magnitude earthquake and I am on reclaimed land on the second story of an old timber house. It was very scary lol I got a little traumatised from it to be honest
+anthony cooper
that's just gas man.xD
I use to feel the same too when i was young ,often pissed myself in bed and waking up on it.
You also need to consider that deep roaring sound which cannot be heard in videos.
yup I remember during the November quake the ground was roaring so loud and my house was making a sickening groan on top of everything in your room moving, falling and smashing. that particular earthquake set off car alarms down my street too
Nepustus All we get in Massachusetts, is blizzards and liberals
The footage where the subtitle says FUKUSHIMA EARTHQUAKE 2016 is NOT Fukushima, not even in 2016.
People call earthquakes, tornadoes etc. disasters. But you can't deny the incredibleness of these natural occurances. Imagine the energy it's required to shake that much mass
Altyazılı Dede
And who deny it?
Büyük bir deprem yaşa da söylersin o zaman "omg this is incredible" diye. :)
@tarun macha me too
4:58 Those kids are lucky, normally you would have to pay for something like that...
Armesis P I think it's awesome if you have an earthquake while you are in the pool
not if its a small one
utakata sama no. It's not awesome. At all.
Hitting the concrete with your head, sure, it must be fun...
I actually lol'ed hard watching that
The guys battling the pool waves @ 4:49...hilarious. I think that first they were alarmed and then they were like "What the heck. Might as well enjoy it."
Am I the only one who laughed at the guy who first fell in the pool @ 8:11 and climbs out @ 8:19? I guess he wasn't really expecting that dunking!
I got a kick out of it. They got their moneys worth out of that swim.
It looked like he was between the fence and the pool and decided the fastest way to get away was to cut across the pool???
Perhaps you are right.
lol
My thought was, "I hope they know how to swim" because they were only in about 3' of water which could mean they might not have known how to. If the guys couldn't swim I imagine it was terrifying. If they'd been thrust against the curbing on the top rim of the pool they might have been killed.
8:19 Hey ... where did THAT guy come from?
Touching Cloth Productions he probably came from the past or from the future. He was just unlucky enough to arrive to that precise time during and earthquake and in a pool :b
He came through the fencing from the property next door
Touching Cloth Productions I was thinking the same thing. Dude teleported in there
Touching Cloth Productions
The pool
8:12 you can see him jump into the pool of course where he came from was definitely from a tear in the space time continuum he just so happened to exit it right next to the pool then jumped in
5:00 I'm not going to lie. That....that looks like fun.
how many librarians kill themselves after earthquakes?
Lol
fuckin corny
I get it cause of all the books
not as many as supermarkets workers...
Those guys were laughing at the ground movement during the Fukushima earthquake, but that earthquake was sadly the LEAST of the 3 disasters that happened that day. The nuclear explosion and the tsunami made the earthquake look mild by comparison.
That one clip of those kids in the pool, kind of reminded me of that scene from passengers
Its amazing how people instinctively group together in a dangerous situation.
9:10 That camera is like, NO NO NO I don't wanna film this..
Lol
more than 70% cctv footage is from Nepal............heartly thanks to pick up that video........
1:10 when you're late to the bus and bus aunty starts yelling at you.
That mountain scene was terrifying.
I've only been in a handful of minor earthquakes, and those were scary enough. I can't imagine how frightening the Sumatran and Tohoku quakes were. Soil liquifaction is so freaky.
1:28 And the saying is "Death By Chocolate..."
lmfao I know it's a bad situation, but watching those 2 kids in the pool at 4:50 trying to get to the edge to get out and just getting thrown around like they're in a giant ocean swell was sort of amusing. I've never seen someone have so much difficulty getting out of a pool before, so it was pretty entertaining.
I felt bad giggling at them..lol
Shoplifter at 1:15! Arrest that man!
if there's an earthquake in your house just DROP COVER HOLD!!!
Amelia Agnieszka Sykut Assuming it is isolated to just your house why dont you simply leave?
0:40 Imagine having to replace those fallen books back on the shelves!
Ok. So, note for myself :
"Dangerous activities during an earthquake =
- Swimming in a pool
- Riding a bike
- Being in a supermarket"
Thanks youtube !
OhMyGodZilla except it's not your decision were you are going to be during an earthquake :b
1:14 he took the basket of groceries with him LOOOOOOOOOOL!
I was looking for this comment!👍
Calmest man in the world filming the earth opening up in front of him: "Well, we seem to be having an earthquake here..."
Where the hell do you run to hide when the world is shaking? Thoughts with every single person living with earthquakes...you're stronger than me.
Did dude just fall out of the wall at 8:13??
that mans life is an action movie!
no shit, I was wondering too where he came from :D
He is summoned by that wave.
So weird. Guy got there from another dimension?
Yorokobi Yos Perhaps that wall had enough of it's captive and just shit him out for a higher chance of survival. Lucky bastard
Don't ever go into that pool, the wall will grab ya
I've not seen the Fukushima Quake before. Interesting.
Steven Lester It's incorrect. Fukushima earthquake 2016 did happen, but it was not as strong, and it happened when it was still dark. Most of the footage in this part was from 2011.
I'm japanese.
Guys, we always experience "earthquake level"(this is japanese original standard) around3~4.
But we recieve no damages at all.
the people in the last one be like "oh the sidewalk is splitting open and moving 12 inches back and forth "... ok let me just walk around it and not miss a lick in the conversation we were having...lol..
8:11 a guy appears out of the wall into the pool..wtf??
tremorelano
Weird & creepy. He appears there out of nowhere, almost like he teleported there.
yeah, what was that all about, good eye, maybe he was in the pool??
tremorelano he was in the pool , lol watched it repeatedly you can see him sitting right there at pool at 8:05 to 8:08 the bigger wave made him fall from there but yep it does seem like he teleported out of nowhere
If the earthquake hadn't flushed him out, he might still be back there.
timothylegg
everyone : EVERYONE RUN SAVE YOUR LIFEEE
me : wait imma record it for youtube video
The dude in 8:13 had the right idea! I was thinking it's a natural Big Wave water tub!!! Smart guy must had so much fun.....
20 minutes before I left Japan in 2015 there was a 7.8 earthquake off the coast. Shook the whole airport. That was the first earthquake I ever felt. Feels a lot different than I thought it would.
i remember that in chile we have an earthquake grade 8.4...
12:02 Ground is moving 6 inches back and forth under foot, but the person walking is like 'Ya, whatever, I got places to be.'
The first few minutes made me realize I do not want to be at a warehouse club store, like Costco, when an earthquake occurs.
Did the astronauts in space feel that?
The guy at 0:35 has a massive heart! He's even saving the mannequins!
At 3:52 that 'man' jumps out of the white car and leaves his wife and baby behind! Men are cowards!
I was unsure if I saw that right....
-No it can't be...
-Yep, he did😒
2:25... He's like "My boss is going to kill me...I ain't got time for earthquake" 😂👏 L E G E N D
People in Fukishima walking about like, "It's not even a 5,0! What's the worry?"
One of the things I loved about living in Japan is how polite they are.
Hear that announcement about the quake? Mixed in with the info he is literally saying thank you.
2:22 man never stopped :o
*I like the pool shots, and the people that just keep walking, like it's not happening.*
Supermarkets and swimming pools appear to places you dont want to be in an earthquake. The middle of a road seems to be the safest unless your on a mountain
4:53 omg my worst fear, a nice relaxing swim in the pool becomes a struggle for survival, a surrealistic nightmare.
03:25 has to be the worst place to be during an earthquake
poor kids left in the van 😣
I've never experienced an earthquake first hand before, but it must be such an unusual sensation.
I mean it's the ground. It's something that you're used to being absolutely still at every time.
Now who can Dance Dance Revolution at the same time.
Some of those clips were like perfectly timed hollywood stunts.
Mother Nature is BEAUTIFUL!
Love the guy at 6:56 that pushes the two women off their bikes and just keeps running.
I couldn't imagine. The most I felt was a blast from a quarry I was right next to and even that was trippy.
One minor Earthquake I went through that is it. The Japanese Earthquake is the most amazing and terrifying thing I have ever seen. I love where I live.. except the Winter's.
In Japan I think they used to think earthquakes were the result of a giant fish moving around deep within the Earth.
very good compilation!
Most of the footages are of Nepal earthquake, 25th April 2015.
Sunil Nepal your are right bro
This video made me think of libraries during earthquakes and how many books fall off the shelves.
11.44 the earth is breathing...watch out people....it cans destroy you in a minute...
It's weird. I've lived in Northern California my entire life and I've never experienced an earthquake in person.
The Brown Note: where the Earth vibrates at the right frequency to make you shit your pants.
truly incredible footage for someone like me to watch living here in Britain, I've experienced only two very small earthquakes here many year's ago both of which have led me to wonder what a big one would be like, great post well worth watching.
I'm reminded of old silent movies when i see people running in these clips
8:12 where did that man come from? lol..
i know he just appeared out of the hedge and fell in the water very Bizarre!!!
Shadow peeping tom, maybe?
11:46 Apparently, moving cracks crack people up.
11:00 The ground behaves like water when there's earthquakes. Nothing to really worry about unless you are standing next to solid rock. Then there can be swells or gaps.
the footage with the pool water is pretty darn impressive
if the ground split open near me, I definitely would not be standing next to the crack recording lol.
Very good footage, haven't seen these before, sad & frightening
My fiance's brother was an asian art columnist and and manaed to end up with a few lovely, nefarious ladies in hus hotel room at the time. When mum asked how he was, his response: "Well, I have air conditioning."

How insanely a 4 reactor unit was built in Fukushima, like another Nanking moment for them
It looks like being in a pool when an earthquake strikes would not be easy to deal with. The water kept flowing from one side to the next continuously.
1:15 that guy saving the grocery shopping XD
Got you! A guy with 2 girls holding hand spotted at 7:05 on the middle left of the screen.
Good thing most of the people in those areas are in good shape and can move quickly in a quake. If that happened in the US some many people would be screwed.
I cant imagine the ground shaking so hard you cant stand up. Crazy!
The scary thing for me is that here in Italy we have the same problem as Japan (obviously in a smaller scale) but we didn't build antiseismic buildings rather we build with sand and the effect are evident... L'Aquila....
8:11 the earthquake gets the guy that is near the pool inside it and then he manages to get out
Honestly we all destroying the earth slowly by digging for golds diamonds ect ect, and start wars killing our own brother and sisters, Now the earth cannot tolerate, and mother earth got to teach all of us a lesson, there is no turning back. Its very sad world that we live in.
The highest magnitude earthquake that I have experienced was 6.9 and it was terrifying...8 pointers would be traumatizing
Largest for me was a 4.5 and it scared me badly. I felt a few tremors for the next day or so and each one, although much less shaking than the 4.5 made me think here it comes again...
being in a outdoor swimming pool during an earth quake seems kinda fun as long as nothing will fall on you
The pool floor will crack.
My first priority would've been to run to the alcohol section of the stores and take their finest bottles :)
R u mad thinking of best bottle that time u will only think how to save life
Lovely to see the human spirit. Especially that moped driver on the mountain side. women and children screaming in the bus. Oh well, on my way!
5:40 That's not a waterline. It's just water that has been sitting in the ground which reaches the surface because it's being compressed and squeezed out of the ground.

6.47 where did that small debris come from that nearly hit the cam on the left?
I feel sorry for the woman at 1:53. She's puts the bottle on the shelf and says, "Ahh. Perfect. Now I am done..."
Am i the only one laughing at the two pool boys?
People: The last thing that you should do during an earthquake is run outside. The best practice is to get in a doorway or underneath a desk or table.
You are wrong. On everything. I have been in several earthquakes. You do NOT run outside. You get under something sturdy, or you get in a doorjamb. But you go ahead and run outside like the dumbass that you are, and watch as pieces of building or glass kill you.

I never knew EARTHQUAKE were amazing! Nobody told me...you only think of yourself.
When the old man takes an dump
HAHAHA 1:20 that guy stealing his groceries
This is why I'm not afraid of ghosts. Or much else. Just natural disasters
I experienced one earthquake in my life. It was so tiny the only thing that happened is a tissue box that fell of a table :') my mom was on the bus and she didnt even feel it :')
Earth: You kids get off my lawn!
I love you Japan but No THANKS!
