Something I forgot to share about keeping your stitches on your needle. Consider if you need longer DPN’s. I think stitches stay put better if they’re not crowded on the needle. The needles I was working with in this video were 8 inch. Normally for the number of stitches on the needles I would’ve used 5 inch DPN. But, I really wanted to give the Prym Ergonomic needles a spin.
Thank you! I can’t stand two socks at a time. I did it once and the yarn management drove me nuts. For sock knitting I’m pretty dedicated to two circs but I do enjoy DPNs.
The octopus and porcupine and never the twain shall meet😏😂. That was a great LOL moment so thanks for that! I am not enamored of DPNs but recognize the need for using the little devil sticks. I just need to practice with them and will incorporate your great tips. You said it - practice and persistence and then hopefully I'll find them congenial instead of little pointy nuisances. I hope to knit socks at some point in my knitting adventures and DPNs strike me as the way to go. Thanks again for your shared expertise.
I just made a decorative mitten using circular needles. But used dpn’s for the thumb. When knitting, the “bumps” were on the outside and the stockinette on the inside. What tip can you give me to avoid this issue?
Hm. Tough for me to say without seeing what you did. I t sounds like you picked up stitches from the inside of the mitten rather than the outside. Was the public side of the work facing you as you worked?
@@CarrieCraftGeek I put the stitches back on the needles in “reverse” order. The work was “below” the needles, not “above”. After watching your video, wondered if I should knit the thumb on the “wrong” side?

I've tried 2 at a time socks, but I always come back to my DPNs. Your tips are terrific! 💕🧶

Thank you for this. :)
I love my DPNs and I love TMBG! The Particle Man reference had me 🎵🎵🎵😄
Great tip. I like dons but never liked the first couple rounds. This will resolve that issue.

@@CarrieCraftGeek yes, public side toward me
I love the They Might Be Giants reference!
Flood is foundational music for me.
