So... as a kinda crazy bibliophile since i was a kid, i've played with papermaking, bookbinding, im a graphic artist, typesetter.. retired.. & not a huge journal writer but ♥ books art paper u know.. and my grandpa gave me a History textbook when I was 12, ive hauled the poor thing around all my life. You've inspired me.. ! Ty! The cover will be used for a memory junk journal with signatures made of anything & everything I can find. All the best to you and your wonderful creative subscribers x
I could watch you make these for hours, and I love the same kinds of papers that you do! When I’m looking at old books, notebooks, etc., I’m always looking for that stuff that makes papers interesting. When you said you kept the papers from the E. A. Poe book because…, I thought you were going to say it was because it was E. A. Poe. ‘nuff said!
Loved watching you create these signatures. Love the old papers that someone wrote out things. I agree, these are papers that need to be kept. TFS and the inspiration!
Nik, thank you for making another video like this. Because of videos like this one, I became a huge fan, not that I don't like your other videos also. Really enjoyed it!
I have been resisting learning how to bind books for years. I just don't need another hobby. But then I found your channel, and I see all the little notes and things that you include in yours. I am the kind of person who will keep a handwritten grocery list that I find in the parking lot. And now I know what to do with them! So I'm still trying to complete some of my in-progress projects before I start, but I am inspired by your work! Thank you!
boring??? absolutely not - i love creating journals and i enjoyed seeing what you did - having vintage papers makes it so interesting and wonderful - i know i've seen your grunge tape because i made some - but i need to pop over and check your other two videos - thank you so much for this inspiration Nik - see you on your next video xx 🤗
Not boring! You asked about the direction of the lined paper you used. I like the lines to help my writing stay straight. But, I wouldn't mind turning the book to write sideways in order to use the lines. 😊
OH You never, ever, ever bore me! I could hang out with you for hours! I love Raggedy...that's my most favorite "style" since I can't cut, draw or sew a straight line to save my life! It's been awesome seeing you put together signatures...really missed this type of video from you!
You will never ever bore me with these videos Nik 💕👍💕 I love watching you go at it with all the papers. It's an awesome idea and I will have to try this out.
Hi Nik, I never get tired of watching you making a journal, could and would love to watch more 😊. Thanks a bunch and hope to see you finish this one … sure enjoyed it !!
I love everything you do, and your ideas are always excellent. I would love having access to that kind of old materials, but it is very scarce. As you mentioned...it's important to us... but the older generations did not think like we do. Thanks Nik, this was great! Makes me want to run to my stash!
Absolutely a joy watching the raggedy! I can’t believe it was 3years with the old tape. I made that right along with you! I need to make more so time to rewatch! Thanks for spending time with us Nik!
Nik, just love watching your stream consciousness videos! You have a very comfortable and engaging way of explaining your process which is always inspiring. Thank you for sharing your awesomeness!
Love watching you make these raggedy signatures! Very inspiring as I have piles of old recipes, letters, newspaper articles. Need to make some raggedy signatures myself! Thank you!
It's so great to see you back handling some paper and I love the aesthetic. I started making books about 5 years ago when I took your Carpetbagger Compendium course. I've been hooked on books and book structures ever since. I've made more than 100 books now and you were my inspiration so please keep on inspiring!
Are you kidding boring never your talent is captivating and I would never even put my phone down with your videos. I just loved this one to the point that I have not done my house work today.😂thank you for this Beaty.
I too love the crumblie bits! It's very attractive in a good way. I feel like I'm preserving someone's thoughts, life and history! Thanks for all you do❣❣❣❣
Never ever "boring" lovely lady...always enjoyable and inspiring! 💕So jealous of all your vintage papers. I live on a island with no good 2nd hand shops☹ Thank you and look forward to your next video. Oh...and love your murder mystery stories! Hope you'll have one to share again soon! Take care now and warmest aloha to you!🌈🌺💕🙋♀️
I found the tutorial you made for aging the tape. It is only 2 years back! I never would have thought you could use alcohol inks to make tape look old. Love it. I'm going to try it using some pink today and see what happens!
I actually enjoyed this, boring wasn't a thought I had while watching this. You always have what I would use as "ephemera" as your scraps lmao. Owning a journal made by you is a goal for me, maybe one day I will get lucky enough 😁 loved the process thanks for sharing. 🥰
Wonderful to see your process and ideas for pages of the signatures. I've missed these type of videos. You had a spunkie zing to it...glad you are feeling well. Hello from Iowa!!
It's been a while since you've put together signatures. I enjoy watching you put them together and honestly just the selection of papers that you use. Please do more....!
Highly inspirational. Not boring for a second. I can watch these videos for hours!.... At least the ones using no kit at all. I am for all real stuff. Nothing fake. This video was just great. Absolutely my style. More like this one please. Thank you Nik ☺️
Love this! I could see this being a great way to make something special inside an old book cover! On a side note I physically saw one of my Doctors today and showed her some of my journals I’ve made. She found them very interesting. I do love showing them as they are really something that seeing is a whole other experience with.
Oh yes or as lapbook inserts! I've been meaning to start another lapbook 🤔 Isn't it curious how there are those who love to buy beautiful things and those who'd rather create beautiful things?? I am thankful there are both sorts of people! Its good to "hear/read" from you, my friend =)
Ha! I was just thinking 5hat a raggedy would be perfect in my current journal and up you pop with raggedy signatures! Perfect! Thank you sweetie, it was great to have a vid from you today😊💞 Rose xxx
I have missed these types of video so much!!! I feel like it's been years since I watched a whole video of yours. I did watch the tiny books. It was interesting but I love Watching you creating junk journals. I really hope there are more to come!
Congratulations on reaching 100k subscribers! I am not creative so this helps me very much. I'm one of those people who don't mind doing taxes (most of the time). I was a computer programmer for many years and I actually enjoy accounting. Creativity wasn't a skill needed in those fields. I am retired and enjoy books. At one time I wanted to learn to make books but didn't have the opportunity. Now I do! I plan on taking the mini book course. I do need to get some supplies (paper is important, right) before I sign up! LOL. I have watched the majority of your videos. I wish I had found you earlier. I love some of the special books you made and would have purchased a few of them. Again, congratulations on 100k subscribers.
Congratulations on your 100K subscribers!!! I am so so happy for you!!! Love your journals!! I had to giggle when you said they look like a mouse chewed on the Minutes; my mom's love bird used to love love love to chew on the pages of her cookbooks which I inherited and so loved to chew on my dad's hair or mom's knitting or the newspaper that my dad was trying to read. LOL!! seems like so long ago!!!TFS
