Kangra Fort || The Oldest Fort of India

Kangra Fort is located in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and its the largest fort in the Himalayas & probably the oldest as well. It was built by the royal Rajput family of Kangra State (the Katoch dynasty) which traces its origin to the ancient Trigarta Kingdom, mentioned in the Mahabharata.
It is located on the top of a hill on the base of which the river Banganga & Patal Ganga embrace each other. There are multiple gates in the fort which were made by the different rulers of several dynasties. There are 3 temples inside the fort as well.
Timings to visit : 9 am - 6 pm ( Open everyday )
