It was sold out 6 minutes after you uploaded your video
It's not like you could afford it anyway. 🤷♂️
I bought em all. 😂
I'm shocked laptops like these sell so well it seems.
Then next time buy it before he uploads a video of a product.

Would love to see some testing on battery life
Love this video! Can you make more videos about this machine on performance in productivity tasks like video editing, too? Thank you!
I am looking forward to the performance of the 8000 HS variants using that IGPU for gaming.
Looking forward to hopefully getting this for college if there's a sale!
Same here
Good review, how about the ssd size? Are those still 2230 or maybe bigger?
Man I am totally going to by that as my gaming laptop.
Damn!! So much power and yet so thin. Looking for a new labtop right now but I'm affraid to see the price.
@ETA PRIME an indepth review of the same laptop covering the heating issues and gaming performance for a long term gaming like 2-3 hours. What about it's SSD? Is it replaceble like from 1 TB to 4 TB? That would help a lot. Thanks.
incredible performance on this small body. CRAZY ! Good temps too, but what about the CPU temps? were the below 80?
would love to see a full review and teardown
Incredible how much tech they were able to fit into such a slim laptop. 8040H series seems okay, but the major draw of the 7040H series was really that RDNA3 iGPU. The gen-over-gen improvement isn't blowing me away.
I would love to see gaming / benchmarks on just battery power , as with awesome handheld pc’s like steam deck and apple silicon running so well on battery like to see what these newer windows machines can do on battery power also .
expect at least 50% lower performance
would love too see the video on the iGPU performance
It would like to see what the RDNA iGPU is putting out on a Ryzen 8 chip. Should be fairly capable and vor some older games be the way to play on the go and have much better battery life. Guess you could save 50w power draw for sure.
Beautiful laptop! It checks all the boxes
This is great.
Wow, the specs alone sold me. I want this!
The black background is soooo much better. I hope you will keep using it. Or atleast a gray one, for black products.
I look at your videos and see badass laptops/phones even tho that I won't be able to even buy a mid range laptop. I am here to lie myself...
You aint alone - we all like to window shop don't we 🤑
It’s like looking at fast cars. Just because you can’t buy them, doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate their speed, power, and looks.
@@catharticcathexis4527 I just hate myself and die inside every time when I see them.
@@catharticcathexis4527Nicely said! Agree here ☺️👍
i could buy this, but you can't get it... so whether you have the money or not, only the elite youtubers are able to get it.
That thing is stacked
Dayum sold!
Any thoughts on the Anbernic RG556 since it's now up for pre-order?
What a lovely laptop, only thing I hate is how the charging cable comes out of the side. Other than that, very cool.
I just did a bunch of testing disabling my RTX 4070 on my Blade 14 and using the 780M Graphics with my R9 7940HS with the overclock tutorial you did on the UM790! Great performance but my 7940HS has a max tdp of just 52W so I can't take it much higher than that but got the 780M at 3000Mhz thanks to your video! Love watching your channel! Keep it up! I would like to see you disable the 4070 on this laptop and use the 780M and see what it can do! Maybe the G14 has a higher TDP than the blade 14!
I can't wait for the rog nuc to be released
With computer brains being upped all the time, it seems like the optimum time to dip my toe into the new powerful handheld PC soup🔥😁
This will replace my 2023 ROG X13.
Thank you so much for keeping us abrest of all things handheld and tech in general.
Looks like I won't be buying the Ayaneo Kun🥵 as a new chip is already on the way, the 8000 series!! Not 2 mention the Qualcomm G3x gen2
I love all of your videos. The content is so full and the data you pull from the benchmarks really helps me with purchase decisions. And honestly the 8945hs doesn't strike me on its own. It pushes me more to stick with the 7000 series chips, especially if I want a thin and light just stay with the 7840hs or 7940hs with the 780m. Thank you for the amazing content!
im sure they all great on oled, i rarely replay them
if i found interesting setting/setup ill just upload
add temp and power consumption chart please, thnx for the vid
Looks very cool but will wait for the version witn 5070 next year :)
i don't understand why noone talks about battery life in a LAPTOP that is ultra portable. I would love to see mulitple tests and also trying to configure it for max battery life on normal browser use or watching movies to see what would be the max you can get out of it. I personally would never buy a laptop that has under 10h of normal light work performance for example.
Dave 2d will probably have the numbers
It’s probably really good g14s are known for their good battery life
I’d love to see specific settings to get 8h or more
In using ghelper balance igpu only and only get 3-4 still
@@Lkss99 *for a gaming laptop

how are the temps? also whats the fps on cyberpunk with ray tracing given this has a 4070? does it still run well despite a more low powered gpu?
I'm curious about VR gaming performance with meta quest 3.
I got this unit, totally happy with it. Screen is amazing, the chassis is SOLID, premium, super strong, RGB keys, excellent track pad… It also plays the three games that I have on highest settings flawlessly. Best laptop I ever had.

In just case.
7940HS = 8945HS (tho, somehow in some tests 7940HS is better in single thread?)
7840HS = 8845HS
just a renamed refresh.
But with AI! oooooh, ahhhhh
It's going to be so useful!!!!!
I think the 8000 versions are just 7000 series but less power draw.
It is kinda crazy how much more expensive those small gaming laptops had become. I remember when Asus introduced those 14 inch and smaller 13 inch 2in1 ROG Flow for the 1st time. Those were dirty cheap when compared (granted, those had GTX 1660, bit this was a couple of gpu generation ago). I kinda wait for one of those companies (Asus, MSI etc) to make basically a Steam Deck / Rog Ally / MSI Claw hardware wise, but in a form of 13 inch 2in1 device.
What? They were never cheap, they got cheap after one year. The flow x13 was 1200 with igpu and 2k for the 1650 model, right now everything is way cheaper than first generations.
@@renanmarcondess Maybe that depends on the region, but I clearly remember that there was a moment in time when the whole line of slim Zephyrus laptops was at least half the price of what they charge now. For instance, I got mine Zephyrus G GA502 for around 1100$ (16gb/512gb/1660ti). Rog Flow was sold shortly after for about 1200 with GTX 1650. But now, If I wanted to buy an equivalent last year Zephyrus G model, then I would have to spend like 2000$ for that (16gb/512gb/4060). It seems like not only those laptops got more expensive as maybe Asus wants to keep the feeling as it is a premium product (and competition sells them like that), but also it looks to like they are selling more devices with 32 Gb/1TB config and it also ramps up the price.
@@Tommy_The_Gun it's definitely a regional thing then, because as of now, you can get the 2023 g14 with a 4060 for 1049 on the US bestbuy(and the new model launched at 1599). Last week you could get the 4070 for 1399, and you could also get the m16 with the 4070 for 1499. I remember back in 2021 I got my zephyrus g15 with a 3070 at launch for 1849 and it was way less premium than the current one. Pricing is so much better now compared to the past 3 years.
when the 2060 first released it was 999 baseline and 1200 for max specs. now 1200 is the baseline atleast here in the u.s i only ever buy on ebay and can find 2060’s for 5-600 but that’s after waiting three years and hoping i get lucky
resale for any g14 above the 3050 is still around 1100 minimum
5:35 wrong, it is far away from the 7000 HX CPUs due to its lack of L3 Cache. The 8945HS chip performs exactly like the 7940HS at the same wattage under the same conditions (cooling etc).
When they bring a 240w usb c charger to it, I'll buy it.
would you compare it to the ryzen 8700g ? it doesn't need to be an extra Video... if you mention it in the comparison video with the older model it would be totally fine... thx
Nice video! Does it look alright when you use a lower resolution than native for gaming?
if its fsr or rsr its fine, natively no
Is downscaling the display in games ruining the look or the feel?
I actually can not believe there is no secondary key lighting. Wow.
How about fan noise and temp when gaming?
Please if you test the iGPU, please try Halo: Infinite on it. No one benchmarks with that game. Your content is great, you've been doing awesome reviews of all of the exact gaming devices I'm considering. Great work, thanks!
WOW! This one looks TOTALLY AMAZING! @ETAPRIME (please read below's questions/things you didn't talk about in this video) Thanks a lot for the great video! That would be the perfect configuration of Hardware and a great Laptop, if I would buy a new Notebook now! I'm just saving up (for a big purchase at home, and therefore sold my RTX 3070 Notebook yesterday and will use the Legion GO as a notebook substitution (having the same graphical unit in it's APU, which is also great) for now.
-> One important thing you didn't mention, and I would be really interested in:
Did you have the chance to test it's battery life in different power modes, when not being connected to AC/electricity? Also is there a way to deactivate the dedicated GPU (4070) and to let it run only with the m780 Chip on the go at lower resolutions? (I mean without having to go into the BIOS and deactivate it completely (if that is even possible???)
That would be a huge plus, if actually available!
Also it's performance then (only m780) and in comparison with the 4070 turned on (all unplugged from AC) then would be really interesting.
-> I know out of experience that many notebooks can be real powerhouses when being connected to AC, but as soon as you unplug them, they can get really way slower and not as powerful at all, given they get way less TPU Power...
Also it's loudness/noise level (of the fans) in the different modes would be really interesting, as gaming notebooks can get REALLY annoyingly loud!
My Gigabyte I just sold was a really nice Notebook by itsself, but had both of those last mentioned issues (huge performance difference plugged/unplugged / super loud when playing games...)
palworld performace was like 30 fps short from my PC with a 12600k and 4070. crazy laptop
You got the 4060 or 4070 version of the g14 2024?
@@andrewcheung4262 I was actually saying it's not too far off from performance of my desktop. My brother in law got the g14 with a 3060 and that has been a crazy laptop
I have the 2022 version with 6800s gpu. It's the best laptop I have ever had.
I honestly dont see much difference between 8000 vs 7000 series when it comes to benchmarks, and this is important considering the 2023 models can be obtained in liquidation sometimes at HALF the price of the 2024s. Something to consider.
Perfect!
Where do you get your motion wallpapers?
I got a nice sales job recently, a 4080 version of this laptop is my first purchase in a couple of months, can't godamn wait
Congrats! Just FYI, this 2024 version of the G14 maxes out at a 4070 (anything higher is just too much for a small chassis realistically), but the G16 goes up to a 4080 👍
@@Matt-fo4gg I found this out after the reviews dropped but if G16 is the more powerful option I'll just have to go that way!
And thank you!
I'm still set on this device but saw some reviews stating its not a proper gaming laptop and is way underpowered towards other laptops coming out this year, I'll need more research it seems ...
@@Trinket_Master You can see these options as the best "all-rounders" in that they're great if you use it for casual browsing, work/creative apps, as well as gaming. And you also want it to not look overly gamer (as in lots of RGB, really thick chassis etc). It's a "jack of all trades" option.
I personally favour laptops like this since I can do everything on it, and it's not obnoxiously loud or gamer-looking if I use it in a meeting (it'll stay quiet, not look too out of place) but then that same day I can use it for rendering/creative work, or gaming and it'll spin the fans louder and deliver some good high performance.
That said - for the same money, you can often buy one that's more gaming focused and it'll perform better. This is usually due to it being considerably thicker/heavier, having more power delivery, and more cooling. So it's a pros/cons thing, if a smaller size/lighter weight/sleek aesthetics aren't that important to you - you can definitely aim for laptops that're more gaming focused that'll give the most performance with less compromises.
On Notebooks with Rtx Graphics i always wanna see the cooling solution...
What wallpaper are you using in your videos? I love the animated ones!
Walpaper engine in Steam then you can get lot similar and that 1 if you want is 5$
Is 5$ for everything thousands of wallpapers
@@MrsDragneel Thank youu!!
Amazing review! You should try the ROG Zephyrus G16 in the next video 🤙😉
So, does it default to the 780m for low-power workloads and then switch on the 4070 when needed?
nah i think for the rtx to kick in, u would need to plug the device to power
its usually mix of both, its why laptops cant have desktop drivers
This is so thin that it's going to overheat sooner or later or sound like an airplane taking off. It can never get rid of the heat the cpu and gpu will create when putting a demand on them for a longer period of time, those fans most be working hard. Can it really handle heat well for a longer period of time?
When will it hit uk stores, i want one
The only laptop I would like to have outside of Thinkpad T series. Even previous model was sweet, this one is forget about it! They have this exact model available to preorder in the UK for £2399 which is cheaper than the old model lol. I might get a G14 2023 with 16gb/4060 for £1300 I think that's not a bad deal unless they plan to release the new model with the same config.
Yeah I swear they keep jacking up the starting prices for these products every year.
It looks cool, but like, idk man
I'd like one of these, but i wouldn't mind if it was thicker, and had more IO and a replacable keyboard, thinkpad style
HDR is only DolbyVision?
any chance you'll review the aoostar gem10 ?
I would love to put Linux on this thing to do machine learning/deep learning stuff on it with some gaming.
If I disable the RTX and use the iGPU, does it produce less heat?
Why the base clock speed i much higher ? Does that means more power consumption ?
It’s so refreshing seeing a laptop without that annoying super ugly tapered side profile, I know laptops need it to add speakers down firing but come on there are million solutions, just see the premium nicely design laptops (Mac books, razor blades, Lenovo slim and now this one) what all have in common, yes not tapered side profiles

I've been thinking how many years after I have to switch a computer, my Lenovo Legion gaming Pc is almost 2 years old it's still looks like a new and works good but when I should switch or evolve it? Next time when I'll buy a new Pc, I would love to try ASUS because ASUS makes an amazing Computers, Phones, handhelds like Rog Ally and that ROG ZEPHYRUS G14 looks really beautiful and powerful ASUS Laptop. Strix Halo should be around this level aswell
Comparing the specs on the AMD website the only difference is the extra AI Tops, so how is this faster in Geekbench?
Interesting to see that the Notebook with CPU and GPU needs less power as the 8700G alone.
i am seeing a sweet spot with ryzen Ryzen 9 6900HX the price seems to be constantly dropping
Looks fun, but a 3K display means you can't stream 4k Netflix on it. Netflix automatically locks you to 1080p if you don't have a full 4k resolution. For that much money and with that nice a display, I'd hate to be locked out of 4k content.
What shark wall paper was that?
does this case cracks and chips off like in older Zephyrus 2021-2022?
It’s aluminum, so it shouldn’t chip like the older model.
@@avenuePad older models were "aluminium" too, but it turned out that it was just plastic with magnesium "stuff"
@@patek2385which one is plastic and which one is aluminum cuz a quick search tells you only the inside is metal on older models. them saying the entire body is aluminum should be enough
Previous G14 models are magnesium alloy bodies coated with white paint. Thus, they will crack and chipped over time.
The 2024 model is pure aluminum finishing, so no issue.
@@codeslacker77 this magnesium alloy cracked after the first opening of the case. I didn't even notice at first cause it didn't make any sound. After that I returned the laptop and bought Legion 5.
