My favorite thing in DND as a kid was to just read through the monster manuals for hours! it was so alien and interesting to my young brain. And never before has someone made any content that scratched that itch so thoroughly!! Sick vid
I started with the old red book, my pops had all the old school stuff. (1st and 2nd edition) By the time I bought my own books it was 3/3.5. I too spent hours looking through all the crazy interesting creatures.

Fun fact; D&D’s undead are vary different from the common Hollywood zombie film you may have seen. These don’t die if you cut off it’s head, in fact they keep on moving for they have a promethean flame burning within that keeps them animate, this being Negative Energy from the Negative Energy plane, yes this is a real thing. It can come from anywhere from a Necromancer or Litch or possibly a cut in the vale.
Is this still true for dnd 5e? I've heard the earlier versions had negative energy and whatnot, but I don't think there's any mention of that in dnd 5e
i’ve never played DnD but this video is awesome.. i like to imagine that it would be cool to catch the flying sword and become its master, maybe just using it as a normal sword because it’s bad ass
I did that with my players and their minds just blew up when the NPC let go of their sword, and it just started floating with a mind of its own, creating a unique boss fight
I kept wondering what you were talking about and then I looked at the tab playing the vid and figured out it was wild pronounciations of demi lich. Had a good laugh. Nice job with the video, what an immense project
Gotta say this video couldn’t have come out in a more perfect time. Just as I started to write my dnd campaign I see this amazing video. listing to this gives me such great inspiration. Good stuff my dude.
4:03:14 My brother played a Kenku character whose method of communication involved having party members read aloud words or phrases on a sheet of paper so she basically had a "pre-recorded" library to choose from, hilariously similar to Jacket in Payday 2 communicating with an edited casette tape lmao
Perfect for a quiet Saturday afternoon. There are many slides that don't match up with the audio however. Ie, Death Knights, and goblins for example. If you're just into the audio, you'll have no issues.
Listening to this video makes my work so much better. I like the way you formatted it but yeah not iceberg and I’m glad tbh bc an iceberg wouldn’t be as concise
My 2 favorite (for whatever reason) we’re both the Eye of the Deep, and floating Gas spores… ever since I had my first monster manual (1983), those 2 have ALWAYS stuck with me🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for this👍👍👍
I went to the D&D museum (sort of museum, it's small but neat) in Wisconsin, the Dungeon Hobby Shop & Museum in Lake Geneva. It's only a couple hours away from where i live, I'd go again. Listening while making candles 🖤❤️✨️
Demiliches are not "lesser" liches, they are what a lich becomes once it has moved beyond the need for its physical body. They are magnitudes more powerful than a normal lich and certainly are not mindless.
Did my bro just say briefly then proceed to make a 6hr video? Bros on his Harry Potter 1 “a bit of light reading” *slams down a mighty huge book” type shit fr
Awesome but hilarious how each monster’s name pronunciation changes 6 times during each description. “The Demi-LITCH. The Demi-LIKE. The Demi-LEECH. The Demi-LICK. The Demi-LEE. The Demi-LECH.” 😂
Say "Demilich" like you say "Lich", it's not a "demolick" nor a "demilick". Also I'm pretty sure demiliches are stronger than normal liches: "Despite the name, a demilich was not a lesser lich, but rather a lich who had evolved beyond a need for its undead body"
as someone trying to get into DnD for the first time, this is incredibly helpful! i cannot afford the Monster Manuals, so your time and effort put into producing this video is immeasurably appreciated 🫶🏼

Hmmm…. Sea Hag - Medium Celestial, Lawful Good. Hmmmm something got a bit off on this one. There are several monsters that suffered the “Curse of Mislabeling” honestly as many creatures that are listed and explained here is extremely numerous (close to seven hours) and it’s understandable that a few got mislabeled. I am sure this video was a huge project but it was amazingly done and the longest piece of content I have ever watched. It’s fun to watch and follow along with my “5e Monster Manual”. I wish the very best of health and happiness to you all and your families!
This video was what I needed and didn't need at the same time. Became useless for references when I couldn't jump from them individually. Six hours and unable to jump around specifically, had to pass.
nice video, insane length but... idk how to tell you this... you didn't understand what an iceberg is. this is just mostly alphabetically, some things come up at least twice and if orcs are at the bottom of the iceberg at around 5:00:00 that's just BS.
So you're telling me an elf wanted the attention of her God so bad she made a song SO beautiful it even captivated that God but afterwards in a rage the god warped her into a evil awful harpy.... I love dnd

For me it was MM3.5, what was yours?
When Deities & Demigods and Fiend Folio came out I pretty wore those binders also.
Same here.
I didn't have any friends either.

@mrmars4939 ok, homie....lol
How much is it "the title lying" compared to this guy just not understanding what an iceberg is. Crying about nothing.
If this had stat blocks along with every picture it would be the perfect reference guide for one who doesnt have a monster manual on hand....
It also would be double the work on a video that was already six hours long. You can easily look up the stat or find the information yourself online

THERE IS AN DND MUSEUM
So there IS a reason to go to Wisconsin. Wild.
back in the early days of gaming conventions, the biggest and best was "GenCon", originally held in Geneva, Wisconsin.
I think it's because of one of the famous names of D&D & one of it's creators Gary Gygax died in Geneva so it's in honor of him.
I just want you to know I appreciate your research and effort brother. I'm a truck driver and this shit is perfect
