I chose the 300sx before anyone else had one to demo. A leap of faith, and it paid off. It improved my riding dramatically, and it's the most fun bike I've ever ridin.

@Davido50 motorex 40:1. I used to mix 60:1 like ktm wants but I noticed some wear already on the cylinder at only 40 hours. Plus 40:1 is only 1% more oil per gallon. Runs exactly the same.

Thank you!!! This was the video that I needed to see. I have KTM 250SX and absolutely love it!!!! I've been contemplating getting a 350SX for an easier ride. I actually think that I would be faster on the 350 but you hit the nail on the head that the two stroke is just more fun to ride. For now, I think I will hold off with adding a 350SX to the garage. Thanks and great video!

For the 300sx it is very stiff if you are light. I'm 152 lbs. Intermediate speed. My setting are.
    Fork: compression 10 out,
    Rebound 15, 149 psi
Shock: low speed 13 out, high speed 1-2/3 out
Rebound 29 out (all the way, but this is with a 3.9 spring, stock was 4.5)
These settings work great on Arizona tracks. The seat is rock hard for about the first ten hours.

You did a really great job on this video. I am currently considering a new MX bike. I was weighing the YZ250 vs. 350 SX F. I grew up racing 2-strokes, very comfortable with them. Had an ‘09 CRF250 that I really did not like but assume the 4-strokes have improved over the years. Now I really need to consider the 300 as well. You hit on a number of the feel comments that are very important yet tests seem to gloss over. For example, the engine braking on a 4-stroke is a major difference in feel to someone used to 2-strokes. Thank you!

I have a brand new 2023 SX-F 350. Bought it in Nov of '22 but was recovering from a knee replacement at the time. So....I only have 3 hrs on the bike. I noticed it started leaking gas through the bolt hole that holds the tank on. I just happen to take the seat off and that entire hole was filled with gas. Dealer even said they've never seen anything like that. I had video and pics, the dealer also took a time lapse video showing the gas starts accumulating after 1 hr.
Here's my point. Shockingly KTM is being VERY difficult in replacing my defective tank. The new tanks are on backorder til end of Aug. So I was gonna take the bike home and ride it just filling to half tank, then bring the bike in when the tank comes in. Well..........my dealer calls me and says KTM wants to see the tank, so the dealer has to send it....and now I have no tank. Obviously, that means I have no bike. It really sucks because I was gonna race in two upcoming hare scrambles. The dealer said they don't understand what KTM needs to see as the tank is 100% defective. What really angers me is I paid close to $12K when there were many other cheaper options....all to avoid situations just like this....and now they are basically ruining my summer riding and all for a whopping $120 tank and about 20 minutes of labor. I love the bike but EXTREMELY disappointed in KTM. Hope you have better luck, you have two GREAT bikes! I feel bad for folks who have REAL problems with their KTMS.

Iv owned 4 generations of KTM 250sx 07/11/14/18 and really wanted to buy a new 2023 300SX to try fuel injected but could not justify spending $16k NZD on a new bike. Never owned a 4 stroke - was walking past a Kawasaki dealer wanted something different and walked out with a new KXF450 which was 20% cheaper than the a new KTM, 6 hours in so far no issues compared to a mate who brought a 23 350sxf and its been back at the dealer 3 times for issues. That been said the KXF is not quite the same build quality of the KTM and does not turn or stop as good as my 2018 KTM 250sx but the stock kxf suspension feels much better over bumps and the motor is easy to ride.
ill probably get another KTM 2 stroke at some point but wait till they iron out little issues. Cheers for review.

That’s terrible, sorry you have to deal with this. As I’ve gotten older and had more experiences, I’ve realized you can have these types of experiences with any brand. Unfortunately once you have that kind of experience it’s very difficult to ever go back so I understand your frustration. I’ve had similar issues with Harley Davidson, Ford, and even Honda which I’ve used for years. In the end do what makes you feel best. Hope you get your issues resolved soon bud.

@@moto-x First, THANKS! Second, I bought a new 2007 Heritage Softail Classic and after 16 years I literally have had one issue. During my first year, my spokes would come loose and so it felt as though I was riding on ice, they tightened them twice, it happened yet again, and I asked why they can't simply give me a new wheel as I just spent nearly $19K...and they did, problem solved. So, I've had good luck with Harley.
Regarding the KTM, I truly expected that this would be a simple process considering it's just a fuel tank. Never did I expect they'd want to see the tank for themselves when they had a time lapsed video from the dealer. I do agree, people have issues with all companies. I just expected a bit more from KTM. I even told the rep that I had to convince my wife that spending the extra $$$ on a KTM was worth it because the bikes are rock solid, constructed with all high-end components...and of course they have EXCEPTIONAL customer service. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Enough bitching! Great video explaining the differences. Very interesting to hear the different characteristics between the 2 stroke versus the 4 stroke. I actually struggled deciding to buy a 4 stroke. I watched all the reviews and shootouts on YT (Motocross Action Magazine, Vital MX, Swap Moto, Racer X, Dirt N Iron, Dirt Bike TV, Kris Keefer, Jay Clark etc) and EVERYONE raved about the SX-F 350. I'm 50 so I grew up riding those CR 250's and 500's in the late 80's and early 90's!!! Talk about having fun on a dirt bike? Ride a CR 500! lol I really love the SX-F 4 stroke but I gotta buy another 2 stroke!
