Yeah as I recall he was largely kept out of England team by Terry McDermott who was a fantastic player for Liverpool but don't remember him playing that well for England 🤔

Still, he got 53 caps, but should have been more. If Dave Sexton had been England manager, he would, I think, have built his team around Hoddle.

Very underrated player, the same as Bernd Schuster and Bryan Robson, my three favourite midfielders ever. If you're British or German you will probably be an underrated player unlike Brazilians, Argentines, French, Italians or Spaniards.
