    The side effects of this drug are horrific....people are sleepy, lazy, unmotivated, constipated / incontinent , over weight, develop diabetes ( and all it’s side effects), get infections all the time, and essentially become vegetables.... and still hear noises.

      I have heard this as well. How does Bethany manage to stay as slim as a fashion model while being on clozapine for more than a decade? In another video she did mention that she took something to counteract the sedation etc. She must be taking something else for weight loss. It is unfair and misleading on her part to promote clozapine without mentioning the other drugs she takes to counteract the side effects.

      Your statement is completely false. Yes clozapine has potential side effects like all antipsychotics, but people do not become vegetables. This medicine has given my son hope for a meaningful life. The symptoms of psychosis are unbearable, side effects of meds can be managed.

      I suggest you do a slow taper off. This drug is pure hell, it will kill you fast. Please beware of this poison.

      @julesdownunder it's a death-drug. I almost died from a cold-turkey withdrawal. No joke. I was on 100mg / day for 4 years. I'm still having symptoms 11 years after the withdrawal. Clozapine makes you physically dependent. You cannot simply quit or you will go through hell. However, if you get the agranulocytose (which it can cause and DOES cause) you HAVE to quit immediately. Please stay away from this rat poison. It's a cruel death-trap (as are ALL psychiatric drugs !). Many people have died from this substance already. It was already taken from the market because of this. BEWARE.

    • @moonglow6639
      @moonglow6639 4 года назад +5

      @julesdownunder another thing: many posters here are paid "trolls". They are paid by pharmaceutical companies to push these poisons.I know this. Take care.

    • @moonglow6639
      @moonglow6639 4 года назад +3

      @julesdownunder ok, it almost seems an impossibility to me though to survive on this poison. "Rare spontaneous deaths" is actually written in each clozapine package leaflet. It's not just 1 or 2% , this substance destroys your immune system and your brain systematically. So each person will have to quit sooner or later. Neuroleptics aren't better than morphine to treat pain. Of course they work at first. But people are literally playing with the devil here. And clozapine is the worst of all. It IS a deadly poison and prescribing it should be a crime. I survived but my life is over, I'm still hearing voices (which I never did..) 11 years after the withdrawal. I needed 2 complicated surgeries. I lost everything. The doctor who prescribed this drug to me is now a chief doctor.. Psychiatric drugs, especially neuroleptics are NOT an option to treat anything, only as a very short term remedy. It is up there with heavy opiates, I'd say they are actually much, much worse. You can survive opiates but too many people already died from these dirty chemicals. The companies selling these should be put in jail, for lifetime. At least that's my opinion. My doctor took my life, and is even rewarded for it.

      Hi, in Europe it's called leponex . . it comes from latin, lepo means ' scales ', ' flakes ', but also refers to leprosy, lepers . . nex is latin for death, deaths, murder . . Leprosy is a bacteria, it attacks nerve cells, causes loss of sense of touch, blindness, and infected wounds, that aren't noticed, will fester, turn gangrene, and need to be amputated . . That's why lepers look so broken . .
      Now, clozapine ( leponex ) doesn't cause leprosy, instead it causes diabetes, I have some studies saying it does so, in 55 % of patients, various sources say different things, a textbook ( Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines in Psychiatry, 13 edition ) says diabetes risk is high, I asked my doctor if he knew leponex - clozapine causes diabetes, he said yes, yea he knew that . . Now, diabetes, when it's very aggressive, causes four main problems . . blood vessel damage ( angiopathy ), eye damage ( retinopathy ), kidney damage ( nephropathy ) and, nerve damage ( neuropathy ) . . In America, 10 % of annual health costs go to diabetes, and diabetes - complications . . .
      You probably got clozapine because you did something bad, something wrong . . This is what the doctors are doing to you, as a response . . Now, don't get mad, they will only lie about it, and increase the dosage . . Tell your PARENTS, the police, and get a lawyer, and sue them for reckless endangerment, with chemicals . . NEVER get violent, they will only lock you up, and further medicate you, and lie to appeal's board, judges, the law . . I have tried this, and looking back, I should have sued them, right up their asses . . You have a chance to get out of this, before you get permanent nerve damages, and what you need to do, is find a lawyer that specializes in suing medical companies, or doctors, and tell him these things, then you will get out, if you get violent, they will only make it go faster, hurt you . .
      Get a lawyer, google it, there are usually famous ones in every country, that are good at suing large companies, drug companies, and doctors . . Some of them have excellent records, and will help you . . That way, unlike me, you won't get put on high dosage clozapine, by the doctors, keep it legal, be safe . .

    This drug is NOT indicated for all patients as a first line tx choice especially for uncomplicated (non psychotic) mood disorders. This woman failed everything, and had multiple evaluations so her diagnosis and treatment schedules were well documented. Each person must be evaluated thoroughly over time by a respected psychiatrist (and get a second opinion if possible), before any “dangerous” drug is instituted.

    My brain was destroyed by the drug "Clozapin". 4 years 100 mg/day. I had to withdraw cold turkey, barely survived with brain damage. 10 years later I'm still hearing voices. The doctor who precsribed this drug to me for social anxiety is now chief doctor in a different hospital.

    My loved one is drug resistant to the other atypical antipsychotics. So her psychiatrist put her on clozapine. Its been one year now, slowly raising her dosage to 350mg a day. It has NOT taken her hallucinations (audio, visual, tactile) away, but it DID giver her constipation, drowsiness and a heart condition (long QT syndrome) and shes currebtly wearing a heart monitor. She was working a year ago and now cannot work. Im at a loss how to proceed, i certainly dont want to up her doseage of this horrible drug.

    I wish I'd been on Clozaril from the beginning in 2000. I'd have had less weight gain/appetite issues, (Seroquel) might not have ended up on 'weight neutrals' and might not have Tardive Dyskinesia. No emotional blunting, sleep hygiene, tames my hypomania, in fact, I even read one study that Clozaril only has 3% risk ratio for Tardive Dyskinesia in first five years of treatment. Clozaril is gold standard. I rejoice in the bloodwork. I'm grateful for it and try to make it fun for the lab people. If it weren't for the bloodwork, I might not be as aware of my general health!

      Amazing results for you, apparently, which is great. Unfortunately, your experience reflects neither scientific studies nor the experience of many individuals. Clozapine is definitely NOT the gold standard. It's the last resort. My problem is that most people, when they start taking it aren't made aware of all the potential side effects, risks, and how difficult it can be to ever discontinue. They're not made aware of what their alternatives are, and they're often not even told what their diagnosis is that warrants clozapine's use. In short, there's a shortage of informed consent which is inexcusable for such a drastic and dangerous drug.

      Clozapine is called leponex in Europe, it comes from two words, in latin, all european doctors speak latin, from school, med - studies . . Lepo means scales, or leprosy ( leprosy patients gets scaly skin, hence the name ), and nex means death, deaths from latin . . Leprosy actually causes nerve damage, the leprosy bacteria attacks nerve cells, and causes loss of feeling, all over the body, to internal organs, and eye damage, some lepers bleed from the eyes . .
      Here's a video that explains it . . ruclips.net/video/54ffnzArmpY/видео.html
      Clozapine ( LEPO-NEX ) can cause diabetes, and diabetes causes four things, most commonly .. Kidney damage, blood vessel damage, EYE damage, and NERVE damage . . Basically, you get 90 % or more, of leprosy, on clozapine, if you're unlucky . . Get a blood sugar measuring unit, they cost 80 $ online, or at pharmacies, and test it, the prick today can hardly be felt, less than a slight pinch, modern lancets basically DON'T hurt . .
      If you get diabetes, you can get it treated, with long-acting insulin . . Leprosy also attacks the immune system, cells in immune system . . They do a bunch of blood tests, in the beginning, of clozapine, to make sure your immune system doesn't fall apart, as that's also what it does . . It's basically leprosy, chemically . . They tend to give it to people who have been violent, or they want to get rid of, or so . . . Check your diabetes, my doctors lied about it, because they wanted to get back at me, after threatening them, pretty hard, so I had to find out on my own . . Blood glucose tests costs very little, a device costs 60 dollars, on sale . . IF you get nerve damage, from diabetes, you will feel burning sensations on your hands, feet, legs, over most of body . . IF you get that, you need insulin, the new LONG-acting insulin, short-term old insulin doesn't work, good news is with INSULIN treatment, you won't get any damages, at all . . It's treatable, and if you like the drug, and get burning feelings ( you also lose feelings on genitals, all over ) just ask for insulin, and nothing will happen . . I'm on the drug now, and most people need 20 - 25 units long-acting insulin, I'm on 70 units, and it's still not enough . . Consider switching drugs if this happens, the old ones are better, especially for women since they can affect female hormones, make them go higher . .

    What about slowly. Even if a monthly cbt and talk therapy around parents
    Takes a good dr to work around the dynamics in complicated cases ...but for simple cases maybe u cud try .but then I was taken from Canada to India...kerala where BI is already hard to handle with few and aged/old drs. I think pharmas/govts have a responsibility in this...selling drugs also not taking into account .. .of all things making money off or not investing more in brain health seems a bit illogical. No other substance perhaps is this valuable...as a creative/destructive object....
    I may be a exception in bad treatment...because the systems wild.
    At least if its a money thing that's understandable...
    But when u have options..

      Clozapine is called leponex, in Europe where doctors speak latin, also in school, to learn anatomy, so on . . Leponex comes from latin, lepo ( lepers ) and, nex, ( death, deaths ) . . Leprosy causes nerve damage, to eyes, also internal organs . . Clozapine doesn't do this, instead it causes HARD diabetes and, diabetes causes four things, blood vessel damage ( angiopathy ), kidney damage ( nephropathy ), eye damage ( retinopathy ) and, nerve damage ( neuropathy ) . . In essense, clozapine makes you 99 % leper, through chemicals . . It ISN'T a bacterial infection, at all, but diabetes, when it is very bad, causes pretty much the same damages in the body . . Your brother might have been murdered, leponex has been around since 1972, I think, and doctors in Europe amuse themselves when they give patients this drug, not informing them . .
      You can sue your brothers doctors, for murdering him . . Let me know if you need more information, he deserves justice, or peace, in life, and death . . Take care, never get angry, GET a LAWYER, and sue them . . Murder is a terrible charge, include torture, for the nerve-damage, other stuff . . Your brothers death wasn't accidental, it was planned, by doctors . .
