Shoot,Antoinette,I may just join you !!! LOL. I like acting SILLY in public,it makes other people laugh and have fun !!! These days we sure need to laugh !!!!
I cannot even explain to you how much fun it was to be a kid in 1985. We had such good music to listen to and videos to watch. I used to sing this song pretty dramatically in my room when I was in sixth grade. Haha.
Yup... agree 100%. I was 12 when this came out. This is one of the essentials for me. Nothing can ever top the experience of growing up in the 80's and watch all this music being released. The Top20 program on TV was my Saturday's "church"... Music was a hell of a lot more important, to everyone, back then...
Another huge hit by this band is the song "Kyrie". And Crys is correct about the echo effect. This effect was added by the producer and was quite common in the 80s.
Yeah i get what Crys was saying about the echo. I think we took that for granted in the 80s. Also, the echo gives the song a dreamy, spiritual feel to it. Loving the new hair too xx
THIS SONG IS SOO CLOSE TO MY HEART AND IT IS SO NICE TO SEE OTHERS WHO HAVE NOT EVER HEARD IT .. GET TO FEEL AND SEE YOUR REACTIONS TO A SONG THAT BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES FOR ME AND CREATES NEW ONES AS I SPEAK TOO :) BEST SONG EVER AND YOU 2 ARE SO INTERESTING AND GOOD AT FEEDBACK AND ENJOYING SOMETHING THAT WE GREW UP WITH AND ADORE ... NOW WE ALL CAN SHARE IT TOGETHER !! ;)
such a classic hit song in the 80s one my favorites ever. Such great singing voice and the passion in the song. and the lyrics are great .was in movie band of the hand. and another one my favorite singers ever was 2 pac who sampled this song for his song until the end of time another great song and he used the sounds perfect but I loved this song by mr mister in 80s The have 2 other songs I loved I run to her, and Kyrie.
The "echo" you are referring to is the Reverb effect on his voice. Reverb was massively used (and sometimes arguably over-used) in the 80's, over everything, especially the vocals. It's an integral part of "the Sound of the 80's" This is one of the 80's "holly" songs for me. I was 12 when it came out in 85. It stayed on the charts in my country for the best part of 85 and into 86. I love many hundreds of 80's songs, but this is one of the "essentials" 😉
I totally get that Crys... The way he ends some of his words do carry into an echo. "Take" & "Wings" especially. I can see where you get that. If it hits your ears that way - good for you!
LOVE TO SEE A PRETTY GIRLS ANALYSIS OF 80'S SONGS AND HER REACTION TO LOVE SONGS .. THEY ARE ABOUT HER .. AND YOU SIR ARE A GREAT MAN AND VERY WISE MUSIC MAN WHO KNOWS HIS MUSIC .. :)
Your lady made an excellent reference to the voice sounding like an echo! That was something i didn't notice or would have thought of. Now re-listening to this tune, she is correct as you can actually hear they put an echo in the recording mix for the vocals and instruments! Kudo's to the young lady with a good ear.
One little tidbit of info that boggles my mind given the sheer amount of talent involved, but apparently Richard Page the lead vocalist/bassist of Mr. Mister was offered not only the chance to replace Bobby Kimball as lead singer of Toto, but also the slot formerly occupied by Peter Cetera as a singer/bassist in the band Chicago, but he refused both parts.
Awww, bless her heart, I think she was crying throughout the song....a song that can move one to tears is indeed a timeless classic....(don't worry, I've cried at the end of the song myself once.)
Good call Cris. They really used the echo ( and reverb) a lot in the 80's recordings, but to good effect. It gave the songs more ambiance and atmosphere.
Sometime i really miss good old 1980´s... DeLorean and 1.21 gigawatts and back to year 1985, when i was 15... Why nowadays no one do these songs anymore?
Broken wings broken wings Tupac is so serious this one is an extra I know you're not used to older paak songs but brought this is one I think you would rock with til Infinity Tupac broken wings he's rapping so serious catch it if you can find it
This song shits over anything in 2022 todays rubbish music hip hop shit does my head in the 80s were the perfect styou guys arent 80s babies and you can tell just looked confused and doped out its like playing an 80s classic to someone in the 1870s but they feel it.
A very talented band from the 80's and I consider this song a masterpiece. Another gem from the group is "Kyrie"
Yessss!
Facts
Is It's two hit wonders band?
@@javix2013 "Is it Love?" was a minor hit, as well, but you can say that they were a two-hit group.
This has always touched me ❤️
"That you're half of the flesh
And blood makes me whole
I need you so"
She’s spot on about the “echo”. 80’s studio engineers loved to add that vocal effect.
The 'echo' effect is known as 'reverb'...one of the most used effects still to this day. Sounds awesome.
MASSIVE hit in the 80’s- loved it then and always will- 😊
To this day if this song comes on in the store, I have to stop and sing along. Beware Walmart shoppers! 😮🎤☺
Anywhere it's played, I'm singing..🙄🤣

Yes indeed. I wish the younger generation could feel and experience what we had.

I totally get that Crys...

the producers/engineers definitely messed with echo/delay in these songs. Very much an 80s vocal thing
Check out "Kyrie" by them.
Wow! You are picking great songs. Love this one and their other hit Kyrie is a great song too.
What a GREAT song. Makes you relax and unwine,so soothing too. I LOVE this song.

Similar vibes, also 80s: Cock Robin - When your heart is weak, John Farnham - You're the voice
Yes! You're the Voice is so epic and relative in the times we're living in.
always great to see someone mention Cock Robin... a great and neglected band in their country (U.S.), but massive here in Europe
"Kyrie" please. Love your reactions! ✌️
This song was in Days of Our lives in the 80’
Check out Mike + The Mechanics - Silent Running
I second that!👍
Awww, bless her heart, I think she was crying throughout the song....a song that can move one to tears is indeed a timeless classic....(don't worry, I've cried at the end of the song myself once.)
0:45 - "Tommy Vercetti...Huh! Shit! Didn't think they'd ever let him out..."
Good call Cris. They really used the echo ( and reverb) a lot in the 80's recordings, but to good effect. It gave the songs more ambiance and atmosphere.
The 80s, my youth.

Love these guys! Saw them live at the Indiana State Fair back in 1987 (I think). My favorite song of theirs is a deep cut called “The Tube.”
This music was also sampled on a 2pac track called “til the end of time”. Brilliant track
Such an epic song! Please react to "WHERE ANGELS FEAR" by BREATHE. Hauntingly beautiful song.
