    I don't believe that your season changes when you change your hair e.g. Zendaya . Just my opinion!

      You are correct, because your eyes and skin tone don't change. But you might need to wear different seasonal colors than with your natural hair color to avoid a strong clash with the hair.

    I was told it doesn’t matter what hair colour you have, your skin colour and even sometimes the eyes don’t matter.. what does matter is what colours makes you glow.. that being said I have medium-dark brown hair, with dark brown eyes and I’ve noticed that Icey colours, royal blues and purples, greens look amazing on me.

    I think red highlight coming from dark hair in sunlight should indicate neutral because red is a neutral colour and hence you can be either neutral-cool or neutral-warm.

    I am definitely a winter, but interesting that you said winters have no yellow/gold in their hair. When I am in the sun, I can definitely see a bit of yellow/gold, yet overall my hair is a very dark brown.

      Dark Brown or even brown black hair that's been treated with heat styling -- blow dryer, flat iron, etc. -- can get lighter or golden at the ends. At the roots, a winter won't have gold at the roots.

      Listen to other videos on the subject. Remember color analysis is based on undertone, not skintone. Some say olive is cool. Others say it's neutral. No one says it's warm. Olive means green -- blue/cool + yellow orange/warm makes green

      Color analysis is traditonally based upon undertone, not skin tone. I'm olive skinned, but I'll never be anything but a Winter no matter how tan I get, because what's analyzed is the undertone. Listen to other analysts discuss it.

In mourning for my burnt orange Tans and golds ... all my warm make up and clothes 😢 I hate my cool winter colour pallete...but I realise the analysis is absolutely correct ...the upside is Black and grey I might invest in a wool grey coat for the coming winter...and start adding cool deep plums and deep greens ...😢

      @marybeth I understand how frustrating that can feel. One of the things you can do to still incorporate some of your autumn pieces is to wear autumn skirt, pants or shorts and a complementing winter color on top. Just make sure that what you're wearing, the winter color stands out more and is the first thing you see. I hope this helps😊

    Olive means a cool undertone (blue) with a warm overtone (yellow) - which gives off a green skin tone

  • @kt1711
    @kt1711 4 месяца назад +1

    You mentioned olive skin tone being one of the winter skin tones! I am really pale olive (tanning a very greyish brown) and my hair is more medium to light brown, eyes are grey-green, since I am a mixture of my mom (clearly an olive skinned winter) and my dad (rosy cool milky skin tone, cool, probably a summer). So I do not fit a summer (I cannot wear pale and dusty summer colors AT ALL), but I am too light/not enough contrast for the "typical" winter look, while I feel much better with the winter colors that are not bright-bright, just medium-bright.... could I still be a winter? Or does my medium/light brown hair put me into summer automatically, even though I look absolutely DEAD with my olive skin tone in muted/pale summer colors? Everyone puts me into summer while I feel more winter...

    • @kt1711
      @kt1711 4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you for the comment! :) My wardrobe looks like a dark version of cool summer/winter. As long as it is fully cool and mainly dark, I can wear it, except the really bright jewel tones. Cool is clearly my dominant feature due to the olive skin which does not tolerate any warmth, but also no really light colors, but also no really soft/greyed colors, except maybe mid to dark blue-grey. A greyish light peach is my absolute worst color. I could still be cool summer, but all the lighter colors in there are really not suiting me at all. I was typed in person as a winter years ago, but I felt the analyst wanted to put me into summer and only was convinced I was winter after a lot of draping and discussing… so I feel this result is not too reliable….

    • @kt1711
      @kt1711 4 месяца назад

      Yes, probably cool winter, I feel. The coolness is really essential for me and cool winter also excludes the extreme jewel tones. I am just so confused since everyone (even a professional color analyst I asked once by email) sees the soft aspect in my features and wants to match it with summer. Just... I go to my closet, pull out some typical summer color, drape it and instantly go grey in the face :-D. People recommending summer do not see this reaction of my skin to the color in real life. I have a feeling that digital color analysis (by photo) does not really work in that case.

    • @kt1711
      @kt1711 4 месяца назад

      Yes, Deep Winter is also an option. For example, here are typical colors for each season shown: spottedline.com/color-season-palette/ ...I would pick deep winter for every color family over all others - even over Cool Winter. Except for the browns and oranges, where I would pick Cool Winter, since the warmth just kills me. :) So maybe even a Deep Winter leaning slightly cooler and lighter than the average Deep Winter... since If I can pick between the same shade "really" Deep or "just" Deep, I would always pick "just" Deep, since I am missing a bit of contrast for harsh black and blue-black. Anthracite and navy are better. Anthracite is anyway one of my best colors, beside a rich deep magenta like #960e7a. That does not sound like summer to me.

    • @kt1711
      @kt1711 4 месяца назад

      Hmmm, my comment got deleted. Guess someone here does not like links to other pages. Anyway: What I said was, that I prefer the Deep Winter colors over Cool Winter as long as they are not too warm or too deep/harsh (like I prefer Anthracite over pure black, navy over the deepest blue-black, etc.)

      Not if it is a natural blonde on a fair person; that would nullify the high contrast required for winter. if it is a brunette or raven haired person who dyes their hair blond then yes they are still going to be a winter.
