She is literally higher in the movies than in the books yet she have more of a presense in the books. She is a wallflower you won't really notice in the movie. LOL
That's because the ranking system is flawed. If I understand the ranking system correctly, in a sentence like "Ron and his sister were sitting at the Gryffindor table", that wouldn't count as a mention of Ginny.
I think Ginny in the movies is overhated. Rewatched it again not so long ago, their romance wasn't a massive focus in the films, but it also didn't just come randomly. Their attraction for one another was hinted and forshadowed in like 4 different movies. She is for sure quiet and a background character a lot of the time, but you can't say she was any worse than most movie romance interests outside Ron and Hermione. She just usually isn't the focus of the action.
I think the problem for the weasly brothers is this: There is a lot of talk going on in the family, when Bill, Charlie and Percy are not around, so naturally their name gets mentioned a lot in the book even when they are not present in the scene. The same goes for different other characters like James Potter. Lilly gets her screentime from the scene of her death, where james is already dead and from snape's memories. James is present mostly in harry's thoughts and the talks with Sirius and Lupin.
Yes the parameters for this comparison lack for these characters. Especially for Lilly and James because they are mentioned more in the films than we actually see them. Even if we would count in the name mentions of the movie, James would probably still be mentioned more in the book. But I could actually imagine that Lilly would get higher rating in the movies than in the books.
It's pretty crazy how some characters can be perfectly matched in this ranking, while having their spot in the story almost completely removed for the films. Yes, I'm thinking about Dobby. The fact that he's perfectly matched, while only being in 2 films, is insane considering how much more important he is to the story in the books
@@mauer1 I hear ya mathematically but he was definitely more relatively important in the books he just wasn't more relatively present in the books. Importance =/= quantity
Probably the films had a lot of close-ups of Dobby because his eyes are cute. Human characters might be in the background of a scene or just speak one line, but a scene with Dobby he'd probably get a lot of camera time.
The fact that people like Ginny and especially Dobby are so close to their book ranking, yet SO much of what happened to or with them in the books is left out, really emphasizes the fact that the films left out a whole lot more than you would initially think or realize...
One reason for the James and Lilly difference in the books and movies is that most of the book mentions say things like "You look just like James, but have your mothers eyes." There were also other times where she was mentioned as his mother while James was mentioned by name, such as all the times he has visions of his mom being killed by Voldemort. That would give James more mentions, though Lilly likely had much more (or at least comparable) "screen time" in the books. The same is true of Nagini, who is often called a snake, but is in the background or taking part in more book passages, such as the whole time Nagani possessed Bagshots body. I would also be curious how many more mentions each professor gets if you count people calling them Professor. Good job. It would be awesome to see how much time people actually had in the books, but that would be an insane task, and your solution is a great one.
There it is. The number 7 in the Harry Potter universe, with the Top 7 being the same 7 characters in the exact same spots for book time as well as screen time, giving us a streak of 7 for perfectly accurate.
@Miraculous Cloud it was a joke. It is his job and it pays well. Of course he will put in effort for content. It's not a charity project that he does just for fun.
It’s crazy to me that while technically Dobby’s numbers match up perfectly, he’s actually left out A LOT in the movies compared to the books in terms of the things he does for the trio. A perfect example is his aid to the trio in the 4th and 5th books
I am still disappointed Peeves didn't appear AT ALL in the movies. He was probably my favorite ghost and he also greatly contributed to the scene of Fred and George's departure being one of the best scenes in the franchise.
WOW, that's crazy how across all those hours of film, Draco is only on screen for 30 minutes. Hard to really comprehend until you break it down like you did. Thanks for the awesome video as always.
As someone else said, there is a difference in scene time compared to screen time. Because even if he is obviously in the scene/room/event the camera will often be facing Harry and his allies. So he is probably more involved than his screen time suggests.
The research you put into your videos are amazing! This and the family history into the characters of Harry Potter are just crazy researched. That’s a ton of dedication
Dobby actually blows my mind, he is in like every book it feels like since Chamber but was only in two movies so I’m impressed that it still evened out perfectly!
Yeah he was in every book (except Prisoner of Azkaban) after his first appearance in Chamber of Secrets. In Goblet of Fire, he's the one who provides Harry with Gillyweed (plus the whole Winky subplot). In Order of the Phoenix, it's Dobby who tells Harry about the Room of Requirement and who warns the DA that Umbridge was onto them. In Half-Blood Prince, he and Kreacher team up to spy on Malfoy after Harry is sent to the hospital via Cormac's attempt at playing Beater. And in Deathly Hallows, the whole rescue from Malfoy Manor.
I know for a fact that everyone can appreciate this video and how much work went into it. I love the Harry Potter franchise and everything about it. (Except for the cursed child lol) Everything is so perfectly planned out in your videos and we should all appreciate how much hard work goes into these videos. Thank you so much for doing what you do!!
Even though Moody is Crouch in disguise in GoF, I always think of him as Moody until the end. Especially if you're counting mentions in the book, where he would have been mentioned all throughout GoF until the end. Amazing video!
Personally i feel it shouldn't count against him because the majority of Moody mentions isn't meant for Crouch because they don't know. I feel all of the GoF Crouch in disguse screen time should be credited to Moody and not Crouch because it intended for us to believe it Moody vs when real Crouch body is shown vs him being name dropped. It paints a false narrative that the movies didn't get Moody right when they probably got really close to the books.
@@karmst1996 Well, if you have to count every "Moody" mentions as Moody, you should count Brendan Gleeson's screentime as Moody even when he was playing Barty Crouch Jr impersonating Moody. They didn't use the imposter's voice like the other times Polyjuice Potion was used in the movies.
I think it makes sense that a lot of the minor characters in early books rank a good bit higher for movie time. The books get so much longer as they go, while the movie lengths stay about the same across the series, with the exception of book 7 of course. So someone like Lockheart being only featured in book 2 for example. Book 2 only accounts for about 7% of the whole book series by pages, while movie 2 takes up about 13.5% of the runtime of the full series of movies. So proportionately we get nearly twice the potential time with Lockheart
Yes, a more apt comparison would have been to take the total reading time for their appearance on the book based on an average reading speed, and compare it to the overall time it takes to read the series. Those percentages should then be compared to screentime vs movie series runtime.
Just so you know Ron is mentioned just 13 more times in the books then Hermione is if I remember correctly, which I think is wild given they were mentioned each about 3500 times, that's some insane balancing, 1 scene can change the standings. Also I was quite surprised to see Ron having more screen time then Hermione as they gave a lot of moments from him to her. But if you'd go by lines, Hermione probably crushes Ron, I'm to lazy to do that tough
Actually I have different lists where Ron is far ahead. (6464 to 5486 mentions) I wonder if Ron would be 3rd place in screentime if the first two movies would be excluded. (early friendship, Christmas in Philosopher's Stone and Hermione being petrified in CoS)
"Also I was quite surprised to see Ron having more screen time then Hermione as they gave a lot of moments from him to her.", it not abaout lines, it is about screen time, when hermione took ron's lines, he was there, on the screen. so that screentime is equal. But you have some scene (first hogwars train ride, the flying care ect) only with harry and ron.
@@1Mystery10000 Yeah could also be My source isn't very reliable it was just a tiktok I think But as you have way more mentions you just used different criteria which can change it a lot
How did Dobby end up in the same spot in the ranking? He only appeared in the second and seventh movies, while in the books he also appeared in the fourth, fifth and sixth books.
Totally agree. I think this was for me the biggest surprise of the video. I would have predicted him to be one of the characters with the biggest difference between books and films.
@@SeanWheeler100 his scenes in chamber of secrets, they were relatively short in the books. His introduction is quite a large part of the movie. Then there's also the factor of entire scenes being removed from the movies, nearly headless nick, pretty much half the book of order of the phoenix taking place in the department of mysteries(and that was the biggest book)
It's insane to me a dog has more screen time than Charlie, someone I always thought was cool because of his job with dragons. Wish we had more of him (and Bill)
I know right in the books they were pretty good and a actual contribution to the Weasley family. Oh let's not forget Percy and his storyline he was pretty much not even there
In the books Charlie was mainly mentioned through words and rarely every seen so why would he get a lot of screen time in the movie when this video is comparing "mentions" to "sightings"
The closer matches for the bigger characters make sense since there is less flexibility about what the directors could do. They can't easily substitute a main character for a scene etc. Thanks for investing so much of your time. It was an interesting topic.

I really hope your fans have some appreciation for the amount of time and effort you put in. Just the editing would be a nightmare. By far one of the best done channels on RUclips. So fitting there was 7 characters in a row that got perfect matches, the number 7 sure pops up a lot throughout the series so that's pretty cool, awesome video as always, the dedication to finding out all these times are wild but amazing
How fitting that Voldemort's numbers combined add up to 666, the number of the devil, which if you think about it is insanely accurate since he was the main antagonist. Absolutely incredible video as always!! Keep up the great work
This is really interesting! Thanks for taking the time to do this. It sheds a lot of light on the differences between books and the movies based on them. However, I wonder how things would look if you measured "book time" in different ways. I understand why you chose mentions (because you can hit ctrl-F and count the number of hits). However, characters are not always referred to by name -- they might be pronouns ("he" instead of "Dobby") or other ways ("Harry's Uncle" instead of "Uncle Vernon", "The Minister" instead of "Cornelius Fudge"). And you get mentions in passing of characters that might skew your data (for example, Snape often gets discussed in the books even when he is not involved directly in the books' action). I'd love to see a version of this where you looked at book scenes in more detail. In other words, look at the books on a scene-by-scene basis, list the characters who have major involvement in that particular book scene, and then count the number of words/pages to quantify how long the scene is. I think the results would be roughly similar, but there would be some critical differences. I think Moody/Barty Crouch is a good example. Really, Moody's screen/book time in Goblet should go almost entirely to Barty Crouch, but since Moody's name pops up instead of Crouch's, you get highly skewed results (as you pointed out). You could also look at different metrics like the percentage of scenes that involve the given character, percentage of total screen/booktime, and so on. Fascinating! Thanks again.
Hey man I just wanted to say these videos really help me to zoom out from all the problems I’m having in my personal life for 30 mins I can go back to my naive and happy childhood and remember the times I was reading these books. Thanks a lot.
This video is true example of a video I never thought I wanted to watch, but somehow enjoyed watching nonetheless. Great job, really appreciate all the effort you put into this I cannot imagine how long it must've taken!
I'm glad that you immediately explained Nigel. I've watched the movies once, usually when they came out in the theater. I've listened to the books 10+ times.. My immediate reaction was "who the hell is Nigel!?"
Great video. Very informative. It blows my mind that most of the characters have less than 1 hour of screen time in almost 20 hours of total movie time. Really enjoyed this one!!
7:58 Mundungus fletcher was also mentioned in book 2. Mr Weasley came home from work after the boys stole the flying car to save Harry from the Dursleys. He mentioned Mundungus Fletcher had done something to mess with him at work that night
I’d be curious to know how much of Hermione’s screen time came from scenes that were movie only and didn’t have Ron vs how much screen time came from movie only scenes for Rn that didn’t have Hermione. It sure feels like there were a lot of scenes added specifically to give Hermione more screen time. It’s also wild that we don’t get a Ron and Hermione scene that doesn’t include Harry or another character until DH1.
Steve kloves. He liked hermione character and a lot of Ron's lines he gave to her. But he did give a few of her lines to ron. Made ron look stupid at times.
It’s also interesting comparing their screen/book time vs their popularity! Like Zabini 6:42 is one of the lowest mentioned in the books and movies yet one of the more popular characters
Very impressive, and very fun! My biggest takeaway is that movies likes putting animals in frame, and that a lot of the actors that will forever be those characters in my mind have like two minutes of screen time.
This is so interesting! I always look forward to your videos because they are so creative, well explained and unique. Thank you for all your time and effort!
alot of midrange characters being in the film more than the books makes tons of sense cause they are in the background all the time in the book it just doesnt state "the trio entered the room to see malfoy, padma, crab, goyle, penelope, Ect.". but in the movie they walk by or are in the backgroun of a harry scene
Enjoyed this immensely!!! Thank you so very much for all your hard work. It really helps us during the down times and through the ever present depression. TY TY TY 🙏🙏🙏 so very incredible how you crunched all the numbers with each character in both the page and on screen!! TY TY TY 🙏🙏🙏 it’s too bad we can subscribe more than once!
ngl i was surprised on some of these. Especially Molly, cause i remember seeing her way more than Arthur, yet she ranked lower. great video btw, must've taken forever. I RESPECT YOU
I think it’s because Arthur has longer scenes where he’d explain stuff to Harry like warning him about Sirius Black, explaining the vanishing cabinet and taking Harry to the ministry for his hearing and stuff like that which takes a bit more time
Crazy how much work you put in. Just one tiny remark: book mentions doesn’t nescecarily equate book appearance, Bill, Charlie and Percy for example were frequently mentioned conversationally so they wouldn’t be in the scene in that case.
Wow it is nuts though how dirty the older weasley brothers were done in the movies, I think a lot of people who I’ve talked to who’s only watched the movies don’t know that Bill, Charlie and Percy are also weasley children, I understand Charlie but the fact they don’t remember Percy and Bill either who are in the films speak volumes. Percy was just there and shouted about being a prefect and head boy for a couple of movies then disappeared and then Bill suddenly showed up in deathly hallows with scratches on his face so s lot of people would just be confused to where he came from.
I think they missed a trick with the movies by not introducing and writing in Cedric in the earlier films (at least TPOA). Would have made his death more impactful.
I thought it was carried out, perfectly. No need to always familiarize the audience so well with a character. I was more stunned watching Cedric get mu®d3®d than when a lot of recurring characters were, and part of it was due to the fact I thought the franchise was possibly introducing him as a new regular. It felt real, and I even felt the grief of his father, despite his small role. It was brilliant.
Interesting and well done! I have a thought about Nagini though -- was she referred to a lot as just "a snake" and not by name, lowering her supposed mentions in the books? For example, when Harry saw in his mind her attack on Arthur, how many times did it refer to her and did it ever use her name, because he wouldn't have known it at that point?
She's always with Voldemort so if you see him on screen, you see her too without the need to mention that every time. It's hard to compare these 2 things, because there is a huge difference between mentions and presance, like you see with James & Lily. Even in the films, they mention James more, but he is not in the picture at that moment and everytime when it's about that night the Potters died, we see Little Harry and Lily.
I would leave this as soon as I realized that it'll take me a month to do, amazing dedication to still go through with it. Good job! What's also amazing to me is Harry's screen time. Almost thrice as much as his best friends, while in theory they were basically living together for 75+% of the time.
What a cool concept for a video Morgan! I can imagine it took a lot of time to compile. I would be curious how you would compare those that have dialogue in the book though, as that would certainly shift the ranking quite a bit. Either way, solid work!
I think the reason greyback wasn't mentioned was due to censoring issues. Alot of his lines were very graphic and disturbing so, it was probably easier to cut his lines and give them to another character. I know they cut down bellatrix's torture of Hermione due to censoring issues so, I'm assuming that's why.
Question: with Peter Pettigrew, did you also use his 'rat' appearances? Same with other people that were mentioned like 'my father' or 'my mother.' How did you do those?
This is actually really interesting video. Thanks for doing the hard work. I knew about 90% of those stats "knew" "Imagined" by reading the books many many times, and watched the movies too. So its still kinda interesting to see in real numbers.
In the book, Harry is annoyed that Mad-Eye shows him that picture of the original Order of the Phoenix. In the movie, it's repurposed as a heart-warming moment with Sirius. Inexplicably, Sirius comes to the train station with the picture despite them having been living at the same house for several days beforehand. Movie Sirius says, "What's life without a little risk?" which aligns well with the Book Sirius who had repeatedly cautioned Harry not to be reckless in Goblet of Fire. This is a masterclass in book to film adaptation.
Voldemort is: - The one ranked number 6 on the list - The one who's film rank and novel rank are both 6 - The 6th one with a perfectly balanced appearance in novel and film I'd say that was a bit too on the nose, but he clearly has none.
Impressive and amazing! I would never in a million years have thought about doing this awesome video and even less having the fortitude to actually do it. Excellent work! Now I'm curious about the same in a book by book comparison :). Also, it would be interesting to measure the characters in the books by how many paragraphs they were active in instead of a name count.
I noticed that a lot of the temporary love interests, i.e. krum, mcclaggan, and Cho had a screen time advantage, which makes sense but still interesting to see how the filmmakers prioritized the teenage drama 🙄
Thanks so much for doing this video. I’ve actually been wondering for a while now about the different characters and the difference between movie and book appearances/mentions, but never had the patience to figure it all out. I thoroughly enjoyed the video. Thanks for you and your fiancée’s hard work!
im still hoping the 7 books will be remade in a series format. that would give the whole story so much more life. i always miss how much sidestories are missing in the movies. the most missing part for me is the origin story of voldemort in the halfbloodprince...
Incredible video!!!! And a huge eye opener about how much time the characters were actually on screen. Hard to believe that Harry was on screen roughly 8 hours and 28min more than his biggest school rival!
I think for some of the animals it makes sense that they are decently higher in the movies as they can serve as a nice transition scene in the movies. EDIT: wow I'm really surprised by Hedwig as I really expected the owl to be much higher in the movie compared to the book.
Great video! I turned this into a higher/lower game, where I paused after you introduced each character, and tried to guess if it was higher or lower than in the books, which made it even more fun!

I think this was mostly the easiest way to make a comparison. If you have a pdf just cntr f the names and that part is done
I like how Peeves made as many appearances in your video as the movies! Another perfect match!
THANK YOU
No love for Peeves
@@tegantravis9572 idk about you all but if I went to Hogwarts peeves would have been my favorite “ghost” lol
Ludo Bagman too!
And most of the other ghosts
It's pretty crazy how some characters can be perfectly matched in this ranking, while having their spot in the story almost completely removed for the films. Yes, I'm thinking about Dobby. The fact that he's perfectly matched, while only being in 2 films, is insane considering how much more important he is to the story in the books
he may be more important in the books compared to the film.
but he wasn't as important in the books relative to the books length.
@@mauer1 Trueeeeeeeeee
@@mauer1 that's a fair point
Hi
That is my point as well, just because HP tops the list, doesn’t mean filmmakers got it right
Both Dobby and Ginny got some stupid scenes that weren't in the books.
Well said
That's what I was thinking too!
Crazy that Lockhart basically in a single film has more screen time than Molly Weasley over the whole series.
Yeah because he's cool and you can't ignore that smile, duh!
There it is. The number 7 in the Harry Potter universe, with the Top 7 being the same 7 characters in the exact same spots for book time as well as screen time, giving us a streak of 7 for perfectly accurate.
Unbelievable 🙏
I was looking for this!
666 😭
Can we all respect how long it takes for him to make the videos and effort he puts in for us
The effort is certainly respected
its almost like its his job or something.
@Miraculous Cloud it was a joke. It is his job and it pays well. Of course he will put in effort for content. It's not a charity project that he does just for fun.
@Miraculous Cloud sorry friend, i was too harsh myself. :D Have a nice evening.
That’s barely enough time for Fang!
Gilderoy getting himself more screentime than time in the books is such a Gilderoy move! 😂😂
frrrrrrr 😂
Indeed🤣
😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂ikr
Seriously this must have taken forever. It shows how much u love these books and movies and how seriously u take the videos. Great job
Yes I completely agree! I don’t get why he counted it different
“I would milk Helena Bonham Carter too”- movieflame
😂😂😂
No wonder, everyone would
I think it makes sense that a lot of the minor characters in early books rank a good bit higher for movie time.
It's incredible how some of these actors made such an impact with less than 10 minutes screentime spread across 8 films.
Tonks ❤❤❤
Less than 10 minutes? Depends how many times you watched the movies. :D
(6464 to 5486 mentions)
I wonder if Ron would be 3rd place in screentime if the first two movies would be excluded. (early friendship, Christmas in Philosopher's Stone and Hermione being petrified in CoS)
@@1Mystery10000 so what your saying is ... We need 7 more videos comparing each individual book to movie rankings
@@Hirnknaker except the moments where it's just Harry and Ron is much larger in the books
@@1Mystery10000 Yeah could also be
My source isn't very reliable it was just a tiktok I think
But as you have way more mentions you just used different criteria which can change it a lot
It’s pretty crazy that Dobby is on the exact same spot in the movie and book ranking, considering that he was cut from so many movies.
Also sad that Winky and Peeves weren't even in the movies even though they did play important parts in the books.
@@SeanWheeler100 I was going to type that
It's insane to me a dog has more screen time than Charlie, someone I always thought was cool because of his job with dragons.
Both of them were often talked about as opposed to actually being there
The closer matches for the bigger characters make sense since there is less flexibility about what the directors could do. They can't easily substitute a main character for a scene etc. Thanks for investing so much of your time. It was an interesting topic.
I’m watching this when it was uploaded 7 days ago. Last 7 characters were 7 perfect matches. I admire your hardwork! This is amazing!
This was really cool. As a content creator myself, I am amazed at how in depth and long your videos often are. I really hope your fans have some appreciation for the amount of time and effort you put in. Just the editing would be a nightmare. By far one of the best done channels on RUclips. Hope you hit 2M soon.
So fitting there was 7 characters in a row that got perfect matches, the number 7 sure pops up a lot throughout the series so that's pretty cool, awesome video as always, the dedication to finding out all these times are wild but amazing
Amazing work. Can't imagine the effort it took but we love you for it.
I’d never take as much time as you do to make sure that we love your content. Amazing job Morgan
Morgan is the most crazy amazing guy I've seen on the Internet. The amount of effort he puts in his videos is unbelievable.
I’m surprised that no one’s said anything about moaning myrtles spot since she was a big part of the second book
Absolutely. He summarizes things perfectly
I love how much work you put into these videos! You are amazing Morgan! Thank you for showing us things we didn't know we wanted to know!!
Wait, Zabini is popular? Is this another draco situation?
@@Wailmur he's attractive. That's why. I'm guessing
Very impressive, and very fun! My biggest takeaway is that movies likes putting animals in frame, and that a lot of the actors that will forever be those characters in my mind have like two minutes of screen time.
I appreciate your effort and time for all the videos you made ❤
This is so interesting!
I RESPECT YOU
I think it’s because Arthur has longer scenes where he’d explain stuff to Harry like warning him about Sirius Black, explaining the vanishing cabinet and taking Harry to the ministry for his hearing and stuff like that which takes a bit more time
@@clover2739 plus he has his own arc regarding being attacked by Nagini
I appreciate you making this as it takes a lot of time :)
Gotta appreiciate the amount of effort this man puts into his videos, amazing keep it up
I think they missed a trick with the movies by not introducing and writing in Cedric in the earlier films (at least TPOA). Would have made his death more impactful.
He wasn't in the earlier books except a brief moment in year 3 when he plays Harry at quidditch
@@kaylee5438 i know but he could have been written in a little. He was still at Hogwarts.
Really interesting that 19 characters are perfectly balanced or were only 1 ranking off. Also the top 7 were all perfectly matches and that's great
Honestly, this is really cool and impressive. It’s something I’ve thought and wondered about before, so thanks for showing us!
Not really a huge Harry Potter fan, but the title seemed interesting and I stayed till the end cause of how well done the video was! ^.^
Great video became a fan of Harry Potter recently and this was dope to watch
This is incredible, the sheer amount of effort you put in your videos is insane
Interesting and well done!
I have a thought about Nagini though -- was she referred to a lot as just "a snake" and not by name, lowering her supposed mentions in the books? For example, when Harry saw in his mind her attack on Arthur, how many times did it refer to her and did it ever use her name, because he wouldn't have known it at that point?
Yeah when Harry and Dumbledore were discussing Horcruxes they said: The Snake instead of Nagini
Mate, this is amazing! Good job doing all the research which is all very interesting. Great editing on the video as well. Keep up the great work!
Dude the amount of time and dedication you put into your content is unreal, much respect.
I have learnt that I've spent 9 hours watching Daniel Radcliffe running around in robes and swishing a stick around
The amount of effort for this video is insane! It’s a whole thesis and some serious analytical work. Thanks!❤
I appreciate you going through and collecting all of this, lot of work.
Would love to see this for other series as well, especially The Hunger Games!
9:46 the reason for this was that Nagini often was referred to "the snake" and not mentioned
And I would be interested in number of mentions in books .
The number 7 really is magical, I guess ;-) Love how all the Top 7 spots were perfect matches!
Voldemort is:
- The one ranked number 6 on the list
- The one who's film rank and novel rank are both 6
- The 6th one with a perfectly balanced appearance in novel and film
I'd say that was a bit too on the nose, but he clearly has none.
It's crazy how much screemtime I thought many characters had compared to their real amount of screentime.
The care that you put into this is amazing! Thank you for this wonderfully made video!
I noticed that a lot of the temporary love interests, i.e. krum, mcclaggan, and Cho had a screen time advantage, which makes sense but still interesting to see how the filmmakers prioritized the teenage drama 🙄
It's amazing how you came up with this ranking and comparison system. I was surprised it worked so well.
Thanks so much for doing this video. I’ve actually been wondering for a while now about the different characters and the difference between movie and book appearances/mentions, but never had the patience to figure it all out.
I thoroughly enjoyed the video. Thanks for you and your fiancée’s hard work!
I would have used decades to make this video. YOU ARE VERY HARDWORKING
Finding out actors in the movies and characters in books is a big chunk of work. Good job!
im still hoping the 7 books will be remade in a series format. that would give the whole story so much more life. i always miss how much sidestories are missing in the movies. the most missing part for me is the origin story of voldemort in the halfbloodprince...
Did you hear Sybill Trelawney talking about this or did you used a time turner to go back in time and place this comment?
@@bram.desmet8687 you know the answer even if you dont believe it
Omg you’re a psychic 😂
I would say if you're counting Barty Crouch Jr as Moody references for the 4th book you should count it for the movie too, or both for Crouch Jr.
Sometimes I feel that some harry potter characters really got less screen time ,this helped me see it luv ur vids 👍
Incredible video!!!! And a huge eye opener about how much time the characters were actually on screen. Hard to believe that Harry was on screen roughly 8 hours and 28min more than his biggest school rival!
great vid! the amount of effort you put into researching for your videos will never cease to amaze me (also early)
I think for some of the animals it makes sense that they are decently higher in the movies as they can serve as a nice transition scene in the movies.
EDIT: wow I'm really surprised by Hedwig as I really expected the owl to be much higher in the movie compared to the book.
Wow the amount of time this must take to make is just jaw dropping, thankyou for putting this much effort into entering us
The perfect 7 spots at the end made sense, their scenes were harder to skip.
This is amazing. I knew about Tom Felton and 30 minutes, but none of the others- what outstanding work!
Great video! I turned this into a higher/lower game, where I paused after you introduced each character, and tried to guess if it was higher or lower than in the books, which made it even more fun!
