Your video is very educational. I'm a very handy man and maintenance of my mower myself is definitely the go to. I don't buy warranty in most cases. Thanks for showing the way and how to do it.
I’m starting up my own solo residential lawn care business and all I need is a good push mower. After watching your tips and tricks I can honestly say I’m getting this mower today. Most videos on RUclips you won’t find in depth reviews on a mower like you. Appreciate it
Thank you for the fantastic review. I mow 10 lawns on weekends as a part time job. I'm currently using a commercial Toro 21". I've debated getting the Timemaster but I'm not sure after watching your video. It seems like the Timemaster can save you upwards of 40% of your time on a lawn. Typically, it takes me 30 minutes just to do the mowing portion of my client's lawns. Trimming and blowing are extra. Theoretically, I could save 40% of the time with The Timemaster and bring it down to 12 minutes per lawn savings in time. Over 10 lawns, that would be 120 minutes or 2 hours. That's pretty good but now I have to consider the fact that most people have stated that the Timemaster doesn't do well in thick wet grass which is what I often encounter, especially in the spring. There also appears to be increased maintenance over the 21" commercial, less durable parts, higher fuel consumption, smaller fuel tank requiring more refills than the large 3.8 litre tank on my Toro, and less reliability compared to the commercial 21". Now, that time savings seems to quite a bit less than advertised by Toro. For these reasons, I've stuck with my commercial 21" units for now. What's really perplexing to me is the fact that Toro introduced this model in 2012. 10 years later, many of the reliability and performance issues are still there. Seems as with most large corporations, the focus in on profits and making disposable items instead of quality.
You make some valid points. Quick math clarification. 30 minute average mow time - 40% faster would equate to 18 minutes of mow time instead of down to 12 minutes.

I find it amazing that you can get away with changing the oil only once a year ! ...I generally do it every week . If they guess I may be overdoing it a bit ? Your videos are very helpful . I'm buying one tomorrow
The owners manual reads that the oil should be changed annually or EVERY 50 HOURS . After a year of commercial use with around 25 hours a week of mowing , your going 1250 hours between oil changes ? I guess that is a testament to the ruggedness of these engines but I would recommend a more frequent maintenance schedule . Also it is important to change the oil after the first 5 hours of initial run time to clear out the break in chat . Very informative video but for these items.
@@edflower109 i would recommend synthetic 10w30 or 5w30. will withstand the heat better. will be more forgiving on intervals. I see they have ZINC in their new oil for new machines. I guess thats for the lifter/cam contact. interesting.....tractor trailer oil has zinc..but generally 15w40...
Had water in my fuel one morning on startup. Managed to get the float bowl off, emptied out and put back on with just my pliers for snipper cord. 3minutes and we were going. Come to think of it I better go check that it's tight.
Absolutely fantastic video. After all the scary videos on these I was hesitant, now I feel more confident. I just wonder why, if you’re cutting that many lawns, you don’t buy the commercial version?
Very good video extremely informative!!! I'm looking at buying one of these for residential use only. I normally cut twice a week Turf type tall fescue at 4". You just got a new sub. Thanks
Looks like the only thing that has changed since the first model is. Metal action on the personal pace system Bigger engine. Foam in gas tank. Heavier duty transmission Multch blade guard in the front of the deck. *nearly nothing changed just 500$+ more now
Thank you man, absolutely terrific video, I'm gonna incorporate your suggestions with rotating the rope pull, installing commercial spindles and taping the blade activator. Two questions for you that you didn't touch on in the video: The flippy floppy debris guard, what have you done with that? In two months of fairly light commercial use, I've already gone through two. About ready to take it off and leave it off. Then for cleaning, by far the biggest pain in the ass area for me, is in the nooks and crannies inside of the rear height depths..do you just let those clippings build up?
Just bought a new Timemaster… love it with one exception. I am having an issue with the real wheel adjuster popping out of the setting and dropping the deck to the f setting. Any suggestions?
I watched too many video, but no one go to detail like you bro, love it your video I'm looking my self lawn mover which one best Toro or Honda..? 30 inch
I mostly use the Toro 30" because it cuts about 40% faster than a 21". However, I use the Honda for some yards because of tight-narrow spaces or having to lift it up walkways-stairs. Also, if the grass is over grown, then I'll use the Honda because it has allot of power.
Like you, I run a commercial lawn maintenance company. I prefer the Toro timemaster over the Toro turfmaster or any other similar commercial grade 30-inch mower. Where do you usually buy your Toro parts?
Are these decks made any better than the ones on the 21 inch unit? Mine rusted through so I am thinking if I get this mower, I will put an extra clear coat on top and rhino line underneath. Thoughts?
I've tried taken that sponge out and it kills after 10 mins of pushing. Looked and noticed the fuel filter was empty so I put blue sponge back in and don't have that problem. But I did cut the heck out of it. But you do get vapor lock without the blue in there. Don't know why but that's how my timemaster does me when I take it out. Sucks
I don't think I'm cleaning mower decks this year. I'm going to use pam. So if folks smell me cooking grass they will know what's up. I'm going to be smarter than the mower this season.😁

Agree, the Honda is very reliable and has plenty of power for wet grass. The TimeMaster speeds up mowing when the grass is well maintained. I sometimes use the Honda when the grass is too tall and wet.

The timemaster is actually faster than the Turfmaster. LCR media did a review on it.
The commercial version, Trufmaster, is just over twice the amount as the Timemaster and is basically the same mower.
Thank for the video I did those adjustments to mines that you suggested.

Where the front wheel adjustment wears you should put some kind of grease or quality dry lube it will slow down the wear a lot. Love your videos

It behaves as a fuel cell sort of like some sports cars have to stop the fuel sloshing, that's pretty much the only purpose
I don't have fuel issues by removing the sponge. Not sure why you would be having problems. I've done this on at least 6 mowers now and no issues.

Why take out the sponge? The manual specifically states to not remove it.
You don't need to take it out, I take it out because I like to see how much fuel is in the tank. Does not affect operation.
@@cheaperthandirtvideos1 the sponge prevents leakage/spillage when on a slanted surface. Also acts as a baffle.
