      The WWE has to worry about building other stars up. When stone cold was big they had a problem of finding sombody to compete against him for awhile that the audience could enjoy. @@Kosten_2K I can respect him wanting to go out in that way, knowing how old school he was. What’s always bothered me is that Brock didn’t need the win, and seeing that Taker worked every Mania to follow (except 35, if my memory is correct,) there were still a few chances to honor that wish while making a new star. Instead Roman Reigns was put in an impossible position a few years later, and Bray Wyatt was sacrificed for a feud that was without its most compelling element from the jump thanks to the previous Mania.

    • @spritzerhijo
      @spritzerhijo Год назад +9

      @@gabepollock1641 ask Vince he was the main culprit for it. I also think Brock also did not want to end the streak as he is already a big star in the company and by ending the streak he will not gain anything from it. I believe in the past there were also some reports that Taker was suppose to be win but vince decide it in last minute to make Brock win it. I think if Vince is smart by using Roman to end the streak and turning him heel on raw next day, we will get one of the greatest heel earlier than the tribal chief era, but Vince with his ego still want Roman to be a face of the company by building him like super Cena at that time.

    • @duffman18
      @duffman18 Год назад +3

      They definitely should have broken the streak, because it was the biggest rub ever built up in the history of professional wrestling. It would have been an incredible waste, a waste of undertaker's entire career, to not use the breaking of the streak like that. It would have all been for nothing, if they didn't break the streak. It would have been saying that Undertaker's whole career never really meant anything, and that all the blood sweat and tears he put in over 3 decades wasn't important or meaningful.
      Never in the entire history of professional wrestling worldwide, had been built up as big as Taker's streak. They HAD to use it, otherwise what would have been the point of it all?
      Not using it would be like climbing up almost the entirety of mount everest, but then when you're just a couple of yards below the peak of the mountain, you decide to end your climb there and turn back, so that you never actually climb to the top of mount everest but just 99.99% of it. Why wouldn't you just climb up those extra few yards to get to the very top of the mountain? If you actually turned back then, then it would have meant all the incredibly strenuous effort you put in over the days and weeks of being there climbing would have been for nothing. No, nobody would ever climb up it but then turn around only a few yards from the peak.
      And similarly, breaking undertaker's streak was the biggest deal in the history of wrestling. They'd put in decades of very hard work to build it up, and you're just gonna not use it right at the end when you could give someone the biggest rub the business has ever seen? Then what was the point of doing the streak in the first place!?
      I don't think Brock was the best decision for who to end the streak, but I think it's worked out very well. Since he broke the streak he's remained as the final boss of WWE, the guy everyone has to beat to reach the top of the roster. WWE have been able to use Brock time and time and time again to lose to the next big thing in the company, the next top guy, and so despite Brock losing a fair amount, he still remains very credible as an undefeatable-seeming beast of a man. They've got a whole decade of use of Brock as the ultimate jobber ever. And it's because he broke the streak, and so he has permanent credibility forever more, despite how often he loses. So in that sense, WWE got an incredible amount of good, positive things, from having Brock break the streak. So even though I would have picked someone else to break the streak, personally, I think WWE have definitely made great use of Brock being the one, they've really got their money's worth from it, and so it's completely justified in that sense.

      Kane ending the streak in one of the 2 matches he had with Taker would not have been as big. The streak was still very young by the 2nd time they faced off at mania. The first match Taker was 6-0 going into it and the streak wasn’t even talked about at that point in time. the second match Taker was 11-0 going into it. So no it would not have been as big of a deal as when Brock ended the 21-0 streak. Kane was already finished and buried at that point of his career. Bray Wyatt was still young(Only 25)and being booked horribly. If he had beaten Taker in Brocks place, he would’ve became bigger then he was and won more championships and main evented more Wrestlemanias.

Bray made it part of his character that he was overlooked, it’s what his second match at mania with Cena was about. Brock ruled wwe from the day he came back after wm 28. Yes he broke the streak. But who at that time did you want to beat it that you would pay money to see today??? Who is worth paying money to see today? Roman is like a joke champion that is just getting pushed to keep the company relevant. We know wwe is global, but there is, and hasn't been a legit global superstar to keep this company going since cena is the 2010s, or brock in the 2020s. Yes at the time I disagree with brock breaking the streak. But he stuck around for 10 years and used it. Finn, shinsuke, aj styles, definitely not kevin owns are getting money pouring in for ppv or wwe network. Let's just be honest with ourselves, brock made a decision to stay with the company and he was the biggest name the company could have and have made them more money then anyone other flipper they could offer. Old era = Kane
    I would even give Triple H a honorary mention BUT he was involved in too many jobber matches and belt turns that by the time WrestleMania hit fans would have had Triple H fatigue but he does put on some good matches and he was in that heavy roster that constantly fought each other.
    Rock doesn't make sense, Austin either (unless its the Ministry beef), Triple H is kinda a "legend killer" aka "Hunter" i.e. "The Game".
    Kane would be the obvious choice for story since that's his brother and equal but fans also getting Kane fatigue and he wasn't as menacing anymore after his many transformations.
    Brock was a safe pick, not a bad guy too lose too since he's beast but was a sloppy performance.
    The BEST outcome was if Sting wrestled Taker and won, but Vince won't allow his dark prince to be beaten by the WCW goth.
    Sting was the better of the dark characters, he had way more personality with his Crow gimmick.

    I think WWE officials were worried about Brock Lesnar losing his unstoppable credibility if he lost a second consecutive time at Wrestlemania since his return.
    If Brock had defeated Triple H at Wrestlemania 29 maybe they would have been more willing to let him lose the next year and give the streak to another young talent.

    • @duffman18
      @duffman18 Год назад +4

      Not breaking the streak would have been the stupidest most retarded decision in the history of professional wrestling. Only an idiot or a idiot child would think they shouldn't have broken it.
      Never in the entire history of professional wrestling worldwide, had something like this been built up as big as Taker's streak was.

He's a badass, he's over as the biggest heel in the company, and the story of him being undefeated vs the streak is an obvious one. But back then it wouldn't do anything for him except add to his go away heat.

    Roman should've been the first to do it and then turn heel. "This is my yard now" was the hottest thing Roman had done/said at the time. Taking all that hate and boos from the crowd for so long, only to say those 5 words and get the crowd to turn ridiculous was absolutely fantastic. Had he turned heel back then and gotten the Tribal Chief gimmick he has now, that would've been one of the best storylines in WWE history. Roman has showcased his talents with the gimmick now, imagine if he had that gimmick with the heat of breaking the streak

      Bray winning would’ve made sense, but only if it were Taker’s final match at WrestleMania. That match would’ve gone over so much better if it had the passing of the torch element between two supernatural figures, plus Bray ending the streak. But with the Streak out of the picture, there wasn’t anything there beyond the supernatural elements.

    The streak never should've ended. And it baffles me how people used to say it should've been Cena to end it. What sense would that have made? Lesnar and Taker had multiple feuds over the years. Kane, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels had several feuds with Taker over the years. Even Vince and Shane McMahon had several feuds with Taker. How many feuds did Cena and Taker have? Fucking 1, way back in 2003.
    *Update* R.I.P to Bray. Brock definitely didn't need it. Personally I still think it should have been Kane even though he didn't need it either. At that time, it should have been Bray, no offense to Roman but, he didn't deserve it then.
