Excellent video. I’m so happy when the host does not prattle on and on and on before getting to the parts most knitters want to see. And thank you for leaving the photos up long enough to really be seen. I’m always looking for inspiration. New patterns and ideas.
@@barbarabaughman4350 to be honest I also don’t like long intros and always skip them 🫢 Thank you for speaking about preferences, it helps improve my videos in the future 🤍 new patterns from unknown designers gives me a lot of inspiration as well!
Your video and comments on all the patterns are so so informative and detailed!! All from the yarn, the color choice, the construction... everything is so thoroughly communicated to us audience. Thank you so much and please keep going on!
I absolutely love these Japanese & Korean patterns review. Well, I am Korean. So I specially love it. I am so glad I discovered this channel. You are my favorite now.
I was going to suggest the Camelia sweater but you mentioned it thankfully, it is 100% my to knit list; Knits Pour Moi is one of my favorite Korean designers!!! I always love to watch your videos on pattern roundups because you are very thoughtful of the construction and yarn choices. Maybe one day you can make a video all about yarn choices and what types of knits they are good for as you always are very knowledgeable! I will caution against using Jameson's shetland wool though, as I've felt it and it is very scratchy. You have mentioned sensitive skin in the past so it is something to consider!
oh and I'm not sure if you've seen, there are a few knitting vlogs with English subtitles knitting the Christstollen Cardigan maybe watching some will help you choose the neck/hood option! Kosil Knits has a great channel here on youtube
Thank you very much for the info about Shetland! Will be using it for the vests only then. Agreed completely on how amazing knits pour moi is! I bought a blossom vest from her and will be casting on soon. But that cardigan is also in my dreams! Have you knitted anything from her ? Regarding the video about yarns, thank you for the idea, it could be very interesting to talk about 🤗
Zhenya, you are so beautiful! It’s such a pleasure listening to you and knitting a hat from the cashmere you gifted me. I really hope to see some colorwork done by you in the future ❤
@@InnaMoreva thank you Inna, you are my dose of beauty inspiration as well 🤗 So amazing that you got to enjoy cashmere already! Oh so many lovely colorwork knits I would love to make! I first thought I must knit Glint, as it's my style! But, I must look them over and pick one to make this Winter. Thank you for sharing these designers (that I never knew about)!!
Thank you for a nice round up of some unusual colour works! I fell in love with Christollen cardigan a while ago and got the pattern. I love the collar, too! yarn-wise, I'm going to use Galway wool from the Life in the Long Grass
About the name "Amandier cardigan", if anyone is curious, it''s a play on words in French. The word "amande" means "almond" but can also mean "diamond shape". While "amandier" does mean "almond tree", the term is also reminiscent of "damier" which means "checked pattern", so in this context you can interpret it as a pun meaning "diamond checked pattern". :-)
Amazing patterns 😮😮😮 thank you so much for sharing them. You made me to want to knit some of them. But I’ve never done color work but I’m considering making the simple one. Simple but stunning 🤩 ❤❤❤❤❤
@@ptoste1 oh same here! I haven’t done even a color work swatch 😁 I think I ll make a scarf first, probably from Marie Wallin, and then I ll cast on the blossom vest 🥰 thank you for watching 🤗
Wow! I can't wait to check them out on Ravelry. I am currently finishing a steeked cardigan from the book called Handknits from Rauma, Norway. It's the Arches Cardigan for Women and Men. The instructions are so skeletal which isn't good for a first time steeker like me. On Instagram or You Tube there are so many pictures of knitters steeking their cardigans, but the remaining steps are really hard to find. This pattern has you knit a facing that you then fold over, but it was really hard to understand how it would all come together. Basicaly you knit a tube and steek everything. But there are only stitches added for steeking on the front where the button band goes, but nowhere else. The neck is cut out to give the round shaping, but once again with no instructions! I will buy any pattern that leads me through step by step. I think the reason for the lack of instructions is that a lot of knitters are really experienced in this style of construction and don't need to have their hands held! Even with all the frustrating moments of knitting this, I am still inspired to keep trying and perfect this method. I live in a very cold climate and these garments get lots of ware! As you also said, I am going to be so proud when I am all done. Thanks again for the inspiration. Especially today, November 6 here in USA, we need the inspiration! By the way, another lovely Japanese fair isle cardigan is called Birds and Pomegranates Cardigan 鳥とザクロのカーディガン by Mariko Mikuni (三國 万里子). I love it!
@@janetweld8874 Hello Jane and thank you for taking time leaving your comment! I can only imagine how frustrating it is to get troubles with steeking, which is the most tricky part of entire project. I guess you are right, the designers assume that if you got into a steeked pattern, you know how to do it. That’s why I am carefully now choosing a pattern that will hold my hand step by step on how to cut the fabric and catch the floats. Usually when I am very complicated, I try to find videos on RUclips, hoping someone would really explain. I am wishing you mental strength and even more inspiration to finish your project! I will check out the pattern you have mentioned 😌 I guess I will start with blossom vest, she says there are videos for complicated moments, so it gives me hope. But I can’t recommend it yet since I haven’t started the project yet. Thank you for watching 🤗
Ive been looking at the Camelia Sweater for a bit. I cannot decide which colors to use so I'm at a standstill. All of the color choices others have made or gorgeous
I’m very into making sure that my yarn comes from a cruelty free place. Have you knit with yarn from the Doulton flock? My next big purchase will be their wool but I’ve never tried it before. All their sheep live to the end of their natural lives and I plan to support that..
🫶 un amandier - c’est l’arbre 🌳 the tree itself amande - the nut😊 fair question about relation of title to colorwork - maybe allusion to an espalier style…? 😊
Re kristollen cardigan. It is gorgeous. The weight of wool would dictate the neck style for me. Ie 4 ply, crew neck, dk hood or neck as pattern. Much love from Shetland xxx
No, I don’t knit. I keep on recording videos about what I want but havent even bought the needles 😰 just kidding 😁 yes I knit a lot, check out my other videos (podcasts)
