I remember him 👍 I use to be big in racing, mostly nascar and old poor boy local dirt track racing here in the states but I remember him. loved the sport back in the day. May he Rest In Peace. Yes that’s a very beautiful place 👍

You always remember where you were when something like that happens. I was living in Canberra at the time, but in Sydney on a 3 day conference. It was a real shock, as I was real Brocky fan. I remember that I bought a Monaro 350 in 1970 and then a Torana GTR XU1 in '73, both identical to cars he won with at Bathurst.
    Thank you for this video.

As a Ford / Moffat fan I always hated Peter Brock, especially in October 😥😥😥but what a fantastic driver and craftsman of the sport. My views of him changed quickly when watching how relaxed he was from an in car commentary during the Bathurst 1000, while still managing to better his lap time. Thanks for the wonderful entertainment Brocky 👍👍👍

The only time I actually saw Brock race ( not on tv) he was driving a Ford ' an XF Falcon at the Thunderdome nascar oval , I remember he got into a massive slide going into a turn due to a burst radiator hose , he corrected it beautifully of course.

I'll never forget the day I found out. I had just been in Burma with a mate and away from any news for 2 weeks. Arriving in Bangkok I was chatting with another Aussie and remember asking whether Bush had been removed yet. He said no but Brocky and Steve Irwin had both died (Irwin was 9 Sep 2006). Big shock, especially as I had gotten to know Brocky a bit having been a motorsports photographer at that time. He was always a real gentleman and showed great interest in our work behind the camera. Cheers and thanks from Sydney - Dave

@@AussieGraver Indeed it was. Funny how these dates stick in the mind. One story for you - one night I was leaving Bathurst media room at about 9pm after shooting the day's race (I even got to shoot the winner cross the chequered flag that day!). As I was packing my cameras into my boot I heard footsteps approaching. Wasn't too worried but I had a lot of expensive gear and the carpark was dark and empty. I turned around and it was Peter, walking towards me, hand outstretched with a big smile. We shook hands and he thanked me and we had a lovely chat for a few minutes before I drove back to Sydney.
Was a lovely experience and showed how real and humble he was, at least in my experience.
Cheers mate and thanks for the work you put into your great vids - Dave

I remember that day back in 2006 just like it was Yesterday.. It was an overcast drizzly friday here in WA, and I had just finished up at work and as I was coming home, the woman next door told me the awful news. It was kind of like fait accompli because I broke it to her that Steve Irwin had died and she was similarly shaken up.
